tripcentral.ca is more than just a website. It is a traditional bricks and mortar travel agency with many retail locations in Ontario, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick. In operation since 1989, the company has grown to one of the largest travel companies in Ontario and employs over 120 people. We offer a unique value proposition - the best of the web, and the best of the experienced travel agent.

Each of the tripcentral.ca locations is a fully staffed travel agency. All of our experienced travel agents are available for walk-in customers and accountable to the public, not hidden in a call centre that cannot be found. Many customers use our interactive website and communicate with tripcentral.ca via the web or over the telephone. Our offices are linked together on one network, so you may be speaking to an agent in a different part of the country.

It is comforting for consumers to know that because tripcentral.ca is located in Ontario, which has the most stringent travel legislation and regulation in the world, your funds are protected through the Travel Industry Compensation Fund administered by TICO when you purchase from us. Even if you are not a resident of Ontario and you book with us, you are protected by this fund. Residents in provinces other than BC, Ontario, and Quebec have better protection through tripcentral.ca than through a local travel agent, as the remaining seven provinces and territories have no travel legislation. Our locations are all licensed with the Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) for which our registration number is # 4545158. Our legal name is Travel Superstore Inc.

The business began in 1989 with a single travel agency location in Hamilton, started by Richard & Cheryl Vanderlubbe. In 1996 a website featuring reduced price last minute packages went online. In 2000 the site was revamped and in 2001 the tripcentral.ca site launched with all vacation packages from across Canada using proprietary software. The business grew, with more locations, and in 2003 the stores were re-branded tripcentral.ca. In 2005, Transat AT invested in tripcentral.ca and remains a majority shareholder along with Richard Vanderlubbe and Paul Foster

Richard Vanderlubbe, tripcentral.ca President,currently serves on the TICO board of directors, and served from 2001 through 2006. Richard has served as Chair and Vice Chair of TICO. He remains on the Board of Directors of TICO serving on many committees including E-Commerce and Legislative and Regulatory Review. He is also active in the Association of Canadian Travel Agents (ACTA) and held positions on the Board of Directors for Ontario since 2000, President in 2002 and 2003. Richard served as Chairman of the national Board of Directors for ACTA, representing Canada's Travel Agencies and continues as a Board Member.

Paul Foster is an industry veteran who's career included senior management positions at Eaton's Travel, Carousel Holidays, Air Transat Holidays and World of Vacations. Paul also served on the TICO Board of Directors from 2001 through 2004, and held positions as Chair and Vice-Chair.
