Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic resort once again! This resort is perfect if you just want to get away from everything and relax. This is my 4th time here and I would definitely go back again. The staff are one of the highlights. They greet you like a long lost relative they haven't seen for a year. The grounds are always kept immaculate as are the rooms. The food is above par for Cuba, lots of choice. Not a lot of night life and its an older crowd but still lots to do. Another highlight is the reef right off the beach - great snorkeling and scuba diving with lots to see - barracuda, stingrays, stonefish - just take a couple of bananas with you and the fish will love you!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Loved this place! This was my first visit to Cuba. We picked this resort because it was only an hour out of Havana and was supposed to have wonderful snorkelling right off the beach. We were there in mid May, and had some freakish, unusual weather, and so couldn't go snorkelling, but we still had a fabulous time there. The staff was fantastic, so friendly and accommodating. A quiet beach, great pool, airy, clean rooms, fun daytime activities and terrific nightly entertainment, both during dinner and at night. The food was much better than I expected, a huge selection every day! An all day trip to Havana with driver and guide was only 70 pesos for 3 people. I definitely plan to return!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing view and hospitality. I loved my ocean view room, the best I ever had. The staff will do everything they can to accommodate your request, totally satisfied with them. Surrounded by hills and gorgeous beach this hotel and staff makes you feel totally fine. Being able to stay in the swimming pool till evening, having dinner at the buffet with a piano player or local singing group every night (no problem in coming as you are), so good when you just wanna to have break from rules, commitment and etiquette. Plenty of entertainment available or just to do nothing if you will. I most certainly will return if I have the opportunity.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from relaxing, but the hotel is not for young couples. We went on our honeymoon to re-coupe and enjoy the sunshine. The hotel is in good condition, clean and above what you would expect from Cuba. We enjoyed every aspect of our vacation EXCEPT......everybody there was either above 60, or didn't speak English. Although we enjoyed the resort through and through, it really would have been nice to meet other young honeymooners. We wanted to escape the spring break crowd as it is too loud and rowdy and would have ruined our vacation, but this was in the complete polar opposite direction, which is too bad that it doesn't attract more newlyweds as they went the extra mile for us and upgraded us from a standard ocean view room to their tropical suite for free just for that reason! A few people who made our stay a great experience: Kiki who is the lead bellman- he speaks really good English, and he will help you with anything you need! Joe (la girasoles) He was our server for almost all of our dinner services, really great, nice and funny man. Our cab driver and personal tour guide Jeraldo(Jerry), great English, great conversationalist, and very honest, came recommended by Kiki.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Relaxing quiet resort This was a very nice resort...quiet and relaxing. The staff except for the front desk and shop workers were very pleasant. We found front desk and shop (store) staff rude and concerned more with their personal conversations and cell phones than they were with us. The food was ok but became monotonous after a couple of days. I think if they did some upgrades to the resort it would be a definite plus. The rooms were clean and the resort itself was kept clean. This is definitely a resort for an older crowd...40+...definintely not a party resort. The beach is great if you want to do snorkling, however the rocks make it very difficult to get into the ocean..but once youre in..the snorkling is amazing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Disappointed this trip Grounds, room location great. Most staff fantastic and remember you from previous visits. Sun Wing rep. (Marija?) at hotel was fantastic. Best we have ever had. Buffet was not great. Food over cooked and often cold. Trays constantly empty and often ran out of dishes. Although dinner was 6:30 to 9:30 they did not seem to clear and reset tables much after 8. When we went for dinner first night a little after 9 there was nothing much left........front desk did not advise us of deli and we went to bed hungry. Previous visits buffet had been fantastic. Staff blaming on ownership changeover however we paid full price and did not expect this downturn in food quality

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Average The grounds were beautiful, nice beach, friendly staff, and great nightly entertainment. What was really disappointing was the food. We probably wouldn't have been so disappointed had we not heard how good it was. Lunch at the beach grill was OK, and breakfast was fine, so it was mainly the dinners that were so poor. We were actually hungry at an "all inclusive"--a rare occurence! What we heard was that in low season--July and August--they cut back. I can understand cutting back quantity, but quality!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A little bit of everything! This was a wonderful resort to stay at! We liked that it was smaller; made it feel more homey. Not very far from Havana, so you could easily take a cab there for the day. The beach was wonderful if you enjoy snorkeling! Lots of fish and beautiful coral. (but careful of stinging jelly fish) You can also hike up to the top of the big hill and get an amazing view of the resort as well as the surrounding area. We brought our bikes and did some biking which was really fun. The rooms were clean and functional. The view of the ocean every morning was spectacular! The staff is very friendly and the food was good.
