Arriving in Santorini. There are two ways to visit Santorini: by boat or by plane. If traveling by plane, the most common route is to fly to Athens. From there, visitors can take Olympic Airways or Aegean Airlines. On the other hand, visitors traveling by boat may arrive in Athinios, Piraeus, Ios, Paros, Siros, Sifnos, or Thessaloniki.
Getting Around. Visitors can get around Santorini in three different ways: by car, taxi or bus. Majority of travelers opt to rent a car during their stay. There are a number of well-known car rental companies available in the area so you will have plenty of options. If you decide to rent a car, make sure to be vigilant as there are several no-parking areas throughout town.
