Imagine sitting on a small, private beach looking out at clear blue waters, enjoying the amenities, facilities, and food options of two all-inclusive resorts. That’s what adults visiting the Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall Jamaica adults-only resort in Montego Bay can expect. A group of our travel agents recently returned from touring Jamaica’s hot spots – from Negril to Ocho Rios – where they visited the Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall and Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall Jamaica.

Saskia Singh of our Etobicoke office has 6 reasons why the Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall is one of the best all-inclusive Caribbean resorts to consider for your sun vacation:

Saskia Singh on the Hyatt Zilara Jamaica“This was my thirteenth visit to Jamaica, and I realized it’s like visiting a new destination every time: there’s so much to see and do and the options on-location and for hotels to choose from are endless. This was my first visit to Rose Hall and I wanted to check out the brand new Hyatt Zilara (opened in 2014). I was speechless from the moment I got off the bus. They’ve brought the true Hyatt brand and style to the Caribbean. I think I’ve found my ‘home’ in Jamaica.”

1. Stay at 1 and play at 2

Adults staying at the adults-only Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall can enjoy the amenities and features of two resorts: visit the adjoined Hyatt Ziva Jamaica for more dining, pool, and entertainment options. Security guards are stationed at the mid-way point between the two to ensure no one under the age of 18 wanders to the Zilara side of the property, confirming the resort’s promise of adult-only and the friendly, fun atmosphere travellers are looking for in a Montego Bay vacation here.

2. Enjoy the ocean – from your room

Wake up to the smell of salt air and the sun rising over the water: more than 50 per cent of rooms at the Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall are ocean view or ocean front (that’s 180 of 218 rooms!) The rooms here are chic, contemporary and modern: enter your breathtaking room with the simple tap of a sensor key card. Lounge on your balcony or patio with a Red Stripe from your in-suite refreshment center, and enjoy the simple pleasures like a modern glass-enclosed shower, double vanity, and floating shelves and nightstands that add to the charm of the Hyatt Zilara. Don’t want to be disturbed? Turn on your “do not disturb” light outside your door which will hush your doorbell and notify other guests and staff that you’re not up for visitors.

3. Enjoy the midnight munchies (or later!)

The Hyatt Zilara offers 24/7 room service – and not just your simple juice, fruit, and croissants that you expect to start your day with. As the Red Stripe starts to wear off around 2 a.m., and you’re craving nachos, grilled cheese, or pizza – a possible comfort food from nights out at home – there’s room service for that on your all-inclusive Jamaica vacation. The Hyatt also has a taste of Jamaica right on-site: visit the jerk hut right on the beach (Barefoot Jerkz) for spicy jerk chicken, pork, the traditional festival cornmeal dish, and a cold one to accompany it all between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. Merging the traditional buffet-style restaurants with something uniquely Jamaican truly merges the Hyatt with Jamaica for a special snack experience.

4. No reservations required

The food is out of this world at the Hyatt resorts along the sandy shores of Montego Bay: options include Italian food that would make you think you’re in Rome (Di Roza restaurant), enjoying Asian cuisine (Fuzion restaurant), or eating with French flair (Petit Pariz restaurant), among others. Eleven restaurants, several snack bars, and 7 bars await between the two properties, and most restaurants don’t require reservations. Decide what you’ve got a hankering for minutes before waltzing into a restaurant and indulging in the Hyatt’s delicious dining options. Looking for something different or on-the-go between the beach and the pool? The Zilara and Ziva are regular hosts to food trucks and carts: I indulged in a delicious Nutella crepe pool-side and it hit the spot!

5. Party all day, relax all night at the Hyatt Zilara

One of my favourite things about the Hyatt Zilara was how peaceful it was: the pool had the music going during the day, the beach always seemed to be quiet. Though the beach here is small – not made for long walks with that someone special – it was peaceful. Rock walls jut out into the ocean to protect the area from larger waves making swimming here peaceful and calm and the waters warm and clear. Spotted around the Zilara and Ziva properties are cube-style seating around small fireplaces that are lit up at dusk: there’s nothing cozier than a fire, a drink, and the sound of waves in the background to end the day, is there?

6. Jamaican hospitality like no other

From the moment you step off the airport transfer bus, you’re greeted with a smile and service that is truly a Jamaican welcome. Refreshing cold towels and rum punch glasses circle their way around the lobby to meet you and introduce you to the “home of all right.” The service throughout the resort is exceptional, from the room service, to bar staff, and everyone in between: hands are placed over the heart as you’re greeted showing respect and love. The Hyatt resorts take hospitality one step further with their butler suites. For those celebrating a special occasion, or looking to take all-inclusive luxury to the next level, choose an ocean view with butler, ocean front with butler, or grand butler suite for the ultimate in luxury: a trained butler is available throughout the day to make reservations, deliver your book to you at the beach, and pop champagne for your special day. The Zilara aims to serve, and the butlers do just that.

The Hyatt Zilara says luxury is their standard, and we agree. Once you visit one of the Hyatt Jamaica all-inclusive properties, you’ll be sold on their all-inclusive, all-welcoming attitude.

  1. Did the resort comp you this stay?

    • Hi there. We did have a group of agents at the Hyatt Zilara as part of a group organized by the Jamaican Tourist Board and the resorts, though the agents experienced the resort as any customer would, enjoying pool time, meals on their own time, and the restaurant menus clients choose from. Let us know if you have any more questions about the Zilara!
