March Break is fast approaching (wohoo!), and if you have yet to book your family vacation, there’s still time. We’ve rounded up a list of five March Break 2015 vacations to consider, whether you’re looking for all-inclusive luxury or a quick Canadian getaway.
Feel like cruising? Royal Caribbean International was built for families: kids enjoy the youth program, the teens have plenty of hang-out spots, and mom and dad relax at the spa or lounge poolside. The DreamWorks Experience provides opportunities for character dining, 3D movies, and photo-ops. You’ll find shows for the whole family, karaoke nights and poolside games, family time dining, babysitters, and more. Rock climbing, ice skating, and surfing ensure there are plenty of things to do together as a family. Take a 7-night Caribbean cruise such as the Adventure of the Seas, from March 15-22, where you’ll embark in San Juan and port in St. Thomas, St. Kitts, Aruba, and Curacao. You can now also search for matching air with our new cruise finder.
For travellers seeking a top-notch Bahamas vacation with the family, head to the 5-star Atlantis Paradise Island, just 35 minutes from the Nassau airport. This mega-resort has many attractions and accommodation options. It boasts 11 pools, 18 waterslides, 3 sand beaches, 19 bars, 20 restaurants, and unlimited recreation options. Aquaventure is the resort’s famed waterpark, and guests can swim with dolphins at Dolphin Cay. The resort also boasts the world’s largest open-air marine habitat, the Atlantis Kids Adventures camp for those aged 3-15, a teen nightclub, and a mini club with organized activities. And that’s not all: At Atlantis Paradise Island, you’ll also find a spa, fitness center, duty-free shopping, tennis courts, casino, fishing and boating, and game room.
A second, more affordable Caribbean vacation (It’s still pricey, remember: this is a 4.5 star resort in peak-season), Barcelo Bavaro Palace is absolutely perfect! Here you’ll have access to the resort’s 2 km beach and the neighbouring properties in the Barcelo Complex with shopping and golfing nearby. Spend time in the swimming pools while the kids enjoy Pirates Island Water Park and the Barcy Club. Enjoy the 11 first-class restaurants, casino, spa, and shops, and all kinds of sports. Beach volleyball, sailing, aerobics, mini golf, snorkeling, tennis, and water skiing are just some of the possibilities.
Nothing says family vacation like a trip to Orlando and the surrounding theme parks to experience Florida’s sunny skies and exciting attractions. Disney resorts are always spectacular and grant free transportation to its theme parks. Another great option is Nickelodeon Family Suites by Holiday Inn. It’s budget-friendly and tons of fun! This 4-star hotel is dedicated to the imagination: its waterpark boasts swimming pools, 13 slides, a 4-story water tower, climbing nets, 400-gallon dump tank, whirlpool, and kids’ play area. The Mall houses shopping and dining options, a spa, and an arcade. At Nickelodeon Family Suites, you’ll also experience interactive shows at the 4-D theatre, see Dora the Explorer live on stage, enjoy character dining with SpongeBob SquarePants, and mingle with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. How cool is that?
Chateau Brauvallon Mont Tremblant
Why not vacation in your own backyard and take a trip to Quebec’s Laurentian Mountains? Enjoy a relaxing getaway at the beautiful Chateau Beauvallon Mont Tremblant in the heart of the action. There are so many winter activities to be experienced, from skiing and ice climbing to snowmobiling and tubing. Let stunning animals guide you on dogsleds, horseback rides, and sleigh rides. Indulge in relaxation at the Scandinavian baths or experience the thrill of helicopter tours. After an exciting day of being active outdoors, retreat to your luxurious suite (available in 1-4 bedrooms) with a fireplace and balcony. The hotel is also equipped with a fitness area, indoor swimming pool and outdoor heated pool, jacuzzi, kids putting green, lounge with pool table, fine dining, and a scotch bar.

Remember to book as early as possible and be flexible with your dates. According to our Ipsos Reid survey results, over 80% of parents would take their kids out of elementary school for a 5-day week for a family vacation and over 70% of parents would take their kids out of high school. We also found that over 98% of parents and 95% of teens either love or like being away on vacation with their family, so in case you were doubting it, your kids absolutely do want to vacation with you!
