Typically, if you have a premium reward points card, cash back card, low interest card, no fee card, or any other significant inclusions with your card, travel insurance is seldom covered.

There are always age limits, maximum trip duration limits, and more. Often you will need to charge the trip to your card to activate whatever coverage is there, and you should check to see how it covers your family or travelling companions.

Travel Medical Insurance for those under 60 years old is quite cheap, and it can be a real hassle to deal with a faceless credit card call centre for something as important as this. For those 60 and over, it’s even more critical that you understand what you are purchasing, what is covered, and what is not. If you have pre-existing medical conditions, you need to be extra careful.

Declining to purchase medical insurance is high risk. We’re confident in the inclusions and limits of coverage as well as the claims process.

If you would like to see if your credit card includes travel medical coverage, check out the InsureEye Credit Card Comparison tool, and be sure to read the fine print.

You can purchase our out of province medical insurance by speaking to your travel agent or clicking here.

Medical Insurance: Group Plans Medical Insurance: Credit Cards Travel Medical Insurance: Group Plans If you have a group insurance plan at work and think you may be adequately covered for out of province medical insurance, here are the things you need to check before you decline to purchase travel medical insurance: What are the limits of […]
