According to UNESCO, Michoac\u00e1n cuisine is part of the Intagible Heritage of Humanity. During your visit, make sure to sample your way through some delectable triangular tamales, churipo, morisqueta, atapakuas, sticky Zamoran chongos, and carnitas. Why not accompany the feast with traditional Michoac\u00e1n drink, charanda for an authentic experience.<\/p>\n<p><b>Monarch Butterfly Migration<\/b><\/p>\n<p>From the end of October until mid-March, Michoac\u00e1n welcomes over 200 million monarch butterflies. The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.visitmexico.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Mexican Tourist Board<\/a> says that according to legends, \u201cthe Monarch butterflies arriving in Mexico at this time of the year are believed to be the souls of the deceased returning to earth.\u201d The sanctuary in El Rosario, which is situated 1,000 feet above sea level, is the most popular spot for visitation.
