The beautiful white sand beach of Grace Bay attracts visitors to Providenciales, the largest island in population and the country\u2019s tourism capital, home to an airport and popular resorts likes Beaches Turks and Caicos<\/a>, along the country\u2019s northern coast. Here, sunbathing, swimming, and water sports are favourite past-times.<\/p>\n

Between visits to the hammock, check out some of Providenciales\u2019 attractions. Cheshire Hall is the site of a former cotton plantation\u2019s 200-year old ruins, while the natural phenomenon simply known as \u201cThe Hole\u201d\u00a0 is a 50-foot limestone hole in Long Bay where people can be lowered down a 60-foot deep swimming hole (keep in mind, this could be dangerous). Another highlight is the Caicos Conch Farm, a working farm where tourists can learn about the Queen Conch\u2019s lifecycle as well as enjoy a show, see conch pearls, and even purchase fresh conch for their next meal!<\/p>\n

Grand Turk<\/strong><\/p>\n

Turks and Caicos\u2019 real capital is Grand Turk Island, though even its beaches can seem deserted when cruise ships aren\u2019t in port. Yet, the cruise centre does see hundreds of thousands of guests every year, boasting the largest Jimmy Buffet\u2019s Margaritaville in the Caribbean, idyllic beaches, a lagoon-like pool, and shopping.<\/p>\n

Visitors to Grand Turk can enjoy eco-adventures like glass-bottom kayaking through shallow waters and mangroves to spot marine life, bird-watching, and interacting with stingrays at Gibbs Cay. Don\u2019t miss a visit to the historic lighthouse, a great spot for whale watching.<\/p>\n

North and Middle Caicos are the two largest islands in the country, and the\u00a0two main islands connected by a road. Here you\u2019ll find the best natural attractions: miles of deserted beaches, hiking trails, harbours, and cave systems.<\/p>\n

The uninhabited island of Little Water Cay is also known as \u201cIguana Island.\u201d This small island is less than 500 metres from Providenciales, a great excuse to rent a kayak. You\u2019ll only need a couple of hours here to stroll along the boardwalk and let the kids marvel at nature\u2019s creatures (remember not to feed them, they\u2019re endangered!).<\/p>\n
