The Melia Nassau Beach<\/a> resort, only a short 6 miles east of Nassau\u2019s Lynden Pindling International Airport<\/em>, is a feast for the eyes. Upon entering the resort, the lobby is the first thing one experiences and it creates quite a \u201cwow\u201d moment for the first-time visitor!\u00a0 Slick and modern, the lobby\u2019s soft colour palette is subtly impressive and very welcoming.<\/p>\n

The resort is set on seven oceanfront acres and has recently undergone a major renovation, having updated the guest rooms, dining spaces and facilities.\u00a0 The completed rooms now feature more comfortable, stylish furniture and give each area a more spacious feel. \u00a0Though the hallways and a number of rooms are still sporting the outdated d\u00e9cor, it is clear that the renovations are progressing at full tilt and before long, the completed transformation will be stunning.<\/p>\n

Pools and Beaches<\/strong><\/p>\n

Meli\u00e1\u00a0Nassau Beach has three pools for guests to enjoy. The main pool features a swim-up bar for refreshments, while the others offer a more relaxed setting, surrounded by lush, tropical greenery and the subtle sounds of birds and a cascading waterfall.<\/p>\n

Of course, the de riguer chaise lounges, sun umbrellas and towels are provided at the beach and pools. \u00a0Additionally, there are countless items available and included, for guests to enjoy various water sports:\u00a0 kayaks, paddleboards, water tricycles and snorkeling gear are all included for guests. Jet skis and scuba equipment are available for an additional fee. There is an exclusive beach area for the \u00a0\u201cLevel Guest.\u201d We found service on this beach to be sparse and it could definitely benefit from more hands-on attention from the staff.<\/p>\n

As a \u201cLevel Guest,” the top tier of the all-inclusive package, service is first class.\u00a0 There is a private members\u2019 lounge, where guests can indulge in a plentiful selection of tasty appetizers and a bar, which features premium liquor brands.\u00a0 It\u2019s here the private check-in and checkout is offered, along with free room service and priority reservations for dining venues.<\/p>\n

The rooms provide elegant bathrobes and slippers in addition to offering a turn-down service and welcome gifts. \u00a0Like most rooms, there is a private walkout and ocean- facing balcony, providing guests with a place to unwind and take in the picturesque sunrises and sunsets.<\/p>\n

Dining Choices\"melia-breakfast-in-bed\" <\/strong><\/p>\n

Seven restaurants are located at Meli\u00e1\u00a0Nassau Beach, all featuring different cuisines:<\/p>\n

The Market Place<\/strong> at the lower level of the resort is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, offering an international buffet for each.\u00a0 Fresh omelets are on offer for breakfast, with baked goods and plentiful, traditional Bahamian cuisine.\u00a0 Lunch features can include an assortment of fresh sushi, grilled fish and tasty burgers.\u00a0 There is enough choice for even the pickiest eater to find something to suit his or her palate.<\/p>\n

O’Grille <\/strong>restaurant, close to the beach, offers light fare, including grilled fish, ceviche, salads and quesadillas; perfect grazing items for those guests who would rather stay close to the water. \u00a0The restaurant also features a full-service bar.<\/p>\n

Aqua,<\/strong> located across from the Market Place, is open for dinner and features Italian cuisine.\u00a0 Dishes included ravioli, spaghetti Bolognese and an assortment of different pastas with seafood.\u00a0 This is a great spot to get your Italian food fix on!<\/p>\n

Black Angus<\/strong> is the only restaurant not included in the all-inclusive rate.\u00a0 Featured dishes include steak, Bahamian lobster, grilled Sea Bass and fire-glazed BBQ pork ribs.<\/p>\n

In addition, there is Cilantro<\/strong>, where the menu features Mexican specialties. Estavida <\/strong>offers a variety of tapas while Nikkei <\/strong>showcases a mix of Peruvian, Cantonese and Japanese fare.<\/p>\n

For coffee lovers, Starbucks<\/strong> ($) is available at the lower level to get your caffeine fix.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Each night guests gather at the lobby where the adjacent Sapphire Bar Music is playing and conversation swirls, before guests embark for dinner.\u00a0 Later, themed music \u2013 from Salsa to Hip-hop — is played each night until the early hours.\u00a0 There is Salsa dancing on offer, complete with experts who are eager to teach you the moves! The dance floor at Melia Nassau Beach provides an experience to match the mood of the guest participants, at any time.<\/p>\n

On the lower level, there is a state-of-the-art gym facility where guests can maintain their workout regime while continuing to indulge in the everyday opulence of all the resort has to offer.<\/p>\n
