Let\u2019s face it, who doesn\u2019t want to pack their bags and move to an island?! Sadly for the majority of us, reality only allows for quick jaunts to paradise. That means the pressure is on when deciding where to go. And while many destinations have one, main draw, there are some spots around the globe that offer something for practically every traveller. Bermuda is one such place. Pink sand beaches, a sizzling food scene, magnificent caves and landscapes, dreamy golf courses, jaw-dropping hotels, fascinating architecture, vibrant local culture and quite possibly the friendliest people<\/em> on the planet — these are just some of the things you can expect when your plane lands in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. In fact, there\u2019s so much to experience in Bermuda that we had a difficult time narrowing down the must-sees, must-dos and must-eats. Alas, decisions had to be made and to help you get the most of your vacation, we pulled together a five-day itinerary that will give you a great taste of the islands\u2026<\/p>\n

Day 1 \u2013 Local Vibes<\/strong><\/p>\n

Kick the day off with locals at Rock Island Coffee<\/a>, a much-loved coffee shop in Hamilton (the capital). After your caffeine jolt, take a walk along Front St. Church St. and Reid St. downtown to explore the colourful streets and shops. Grab lunch at Devil\u2019s Isle<\/a>: their farm-fresh ingredients and seasonally-inspired dishes will fuel you for the rest of the day. Hop into a taxi for a short ride to Admiralty House Park<\/a> near Spanish Point to relax at the quiet beach, explore the underground passageways and watch acrobatic cliff jumpers take the plunge. For dinner, zip back to the capital for a cheap and cheerful dinner at Jamaican Grill: the hole-in-the-wall joint is a local gem.<\/p>\n

Day 2 \u2013 Beach Hop<\/strong><\/p>\n

With over 30 beaches to choose from, you\u2019re guaranteed to find a stretch of sand with your name on it (head here<\/a> for our top recos). Make sure to visit Horseshoe Bay on your beach hop: Cond\u00e9 Nast Traveler<\/em> named it as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. You won\u2019t want to leave this slice of heaven once you step foot on its soft, pink sand so pack a picnic (most hotels will coordinate this if you ask in advance) and spend the entire day soaking up rays. After a sunset stroll, brush off all the sand, freshen up and cap your evening with a romantic steak dinner at the nearby Waterlot Inn<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Day 3<\/strong> \u2013 Day Trip <\/strong><\/p>\n

St George\u2019s Parish is bursting with gems so a day trip to the east side of Bermuda is a must. Start your morning off on a sweet note at Sweet Saak Bakery<\/a> and devour the best cinnamon buns in the country. Next, walk over to the Unfinished Church<\/a> to check out the beautiful ruins. For lunch, head to Wahoo\u2019s Bistro & Patio<\/a> for some Bermudian cuisine: snag a seat on the waterfront patio and order their fish tacos or award-winning fish chowder. Make sure to also pop by Lili Bermuda<\/a> perfumery for unique scents \u2014 they\u2019ve been around for over 85 years and hand-bottle each fragrance! For the afternoon, take a taxi over to Cooper\u2019s Island Nature Reserve<\/a> to swim at the secluded beaches, go for a hike and try your luck at spotting some wildlife. If you\u2019re lucky, you may even see a whale! For dinner, cab back to Hamilton and feast at Marcus\u2019<\/a>, one of Bermuda\u2019s most highly acclaimed restaurants.<\/p>\n

Day 4 \u2013 Relax At Your Hotel<\/strong><\/p>\n

Depending on where you stay in Bermuda, you\u2019ll have access to some incredible amenities so don\u2019t be shy and take full advantage of the resort. If you think you\u2019ll be spending a lot of time on the property, definitely splurge on a luxury hotel so you can enjoy their epic pools and beaches. Here are three we recommend: Fairmont Southampton<\/a>, Rosewood Tucker\u2019s Point<\/a> and Elbow Beach Bermuda Resort & Spa<\/a>. Regardless of where you decide to stay, a leisurely meal at The Point<\/a> should be on your itinerary: the dining experience is nothing short of exquisite.<\/p>\n

Day 5 \u2013 Experience Bermuda\u2019s Natural Beauty<\/strong><\/p>\n

Peel yourself off the stunning beaches and head underground to admire the Crystal & Fantasy Caves<\/a>. Arrive in the morning to avoid crowds (it\u2019s the country\u2019s top visitor attraction) and be amazed by its breathtaking formations and azure blue waters. On your way out, make sure to stop at Bailey\u2019s Ice Cream for a treat. Then, walk over to Grotto Bay Beach Resort<\/a> to experience the majestic caves in a completely unique way: a relaxing massage surrounded by stalactites and stalagmites. For lunch, walk over to the popular Swizzle Inn<\/a> and grab a seat on their bustling patio, rum swizzle in hand. Spend the afternoon hiking Blue Hole Park & Tom Moore\u2019s Jungle<\/a> and cool off by taking a dip in the deep pool surrounded by mangroves. In the evening, go on a hunt for the best sandwich in Bermuda; Art Mel\u2019s Spicy Dicy is not easy to find, but your effort will be rewarded when you take a bite of the mouthwatering fish sandwich.<\/p>\n
