What is Summerlicious?<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Summerlicious\u00a0offers value to the Toronto diner looking to experience the top culinary offerings in the city. It\u2019s the best way to taste your way through Toronto, with three-course prix-fixe menus at over 200 participating restaurants, including over 20 newcomers.<\/p>\n

Restaurant menus change for lunch and dinner and range in price so you can go for a budget-friendly meal or high-end dining experience. Lunches are either $18, $23, or $28 and dinners are $28, $38 or $48 (taxes and gratuity are extra).<\/p>\n

The Summerlicious website search filter<\/a> allows you to filter restaurants by cuisine type, neighbourhood, price, whether the restaurant is accessible, vegan-friendly, vegetarian-friendly, and uses local ingredients. You may want to contact the restaurants directly to secure a table at one of Toronto\u2019s hot spots. (The festival is produced by the City of Toronto but presented by YPDine where you can make reservations.)<\/p>\n

Serving a Summerlicious menu for dinner only, order the cured swordfish or sardines to start, savour the grilled mediterranean sea bream or grilled octopus as a main, and finish your meal off with an Italian dolce. There are just 36 seats here so reserve a table in advance if Ufficio is on your Summerlicious bucket list.<\/p>\n

Chef Rob Gentile’s creative menu and the quality of the ingredients used in his dishes are incomparable. Head here with a friend for a leisurely lunch on the front patio.<\/p>\n

When I’m in the mood for French fare, I head to Caf\u00e9 Boulud<\/a> located inside the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto. Chef Daniel’s bistro classics and contemporary cuisine always hit the spot. Inspired by his family meals in Lyon, the dishes are both delicious and approachable. The Summerilcious menu value is high, the service is exceptional and the brasserie has a warm, vintage-inspired ambiance. A treat for the family or a special date!<\/p>\n

Pan on the Danforth<\/a> for go-to Greek dishes that you cant get anywhere else in the city. They create both modern and traditional Greek dishes where every bite seems to take you back to the old country.<\/p>\n

Tabule has been a fave for years. Their tabule itself as well as their falafel are unbeatable.<\/p>\n

Prohibition Gastrohouse has great mac and cheese, a solid burger and amazing drink choices with just as amazing prices making it an easy go to time and again.<\/p>\n

My must-visit restaurant for Summerlicious 2017 is Loka<\/a>! Loka is listed in my list of favourite restaurants <\/a>last year. It’s one of the rare restaurants where the menu changes daily based on fresh local ingredients they receive daily. Dishes are always creative, done well with careful thought, and plated nicely for those Instagram photos. Take a look at Chef Dave’s Instagram, @chef_rouge<\/a>, and you’ll see what I’m talking about. As they are known best for their extensive cured meat program focusing on whole animal butchery, I would recommend getting the Nduja toast and Maple glazed pork belly for Summerlicious.<\/p>\n
