Art has a special spot in my heart.\u00a0 Whenever I visit new places, I search for art galleries to visit- large and small.\u00a0 They are a source of inspiration and discovery.\u00a0 Art has also become a major part of travel for others too.\u00a0 Every year, famous art galleries and museums are visited by the millions.\u00a0 Not many visit Paris without a trip to the Mus\u00e9e du Louvre.\u00a0 The museum is a landmark and a part of both Parisian culture and Parisian travel.\u00a0 And with this, the famous works of art become important sights to see if only to say you\u2019ve seen them.\u00a0\u00a0 When people from all over the world gather to view da Vinci\u2019s Mona Lisa, they become connected.\u00a0 They will each gaze upon the same painting that has become an enduring and appropriated pop-culture icon, but react to it differently. Maybe they\u2019ll feel fascinated, enlightened, fulfilled, overwhelmed, hopeful, satisfied, disappointed, bored, or indifferent.\u00a0 Perhaps they won\u2019t get the tranquil experience they imagined among the crowds and the noise.\u00a0 Perhaps they\u2019ll uncover the mystery of her smile.<\/p>\n

New York City<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the Museum of Modern Art is van Gogh\u2019s most recognizable painting, Starry Night.\u00a0 It was created in Saint-Remy, France in June 1889 while van Gogh spent time in an asylum.<\/p>\n

Madrid<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Guernica\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Picasso\u2019s Guernica is exhibited at the Museo Reina Sofia.\u00a0 This anti-war mural was painted in 1937 in Paris to reflect the turmoil of the Spanish Civil War.<\/p>\n

Washington<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Le-pont-japonais-a-giverny\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Le Pont Japonais a Giverny by Monet is showcased in the National Gallery of Art.\u00a0 This impressionist landscape was painted in 1899.<\/p>\n

Oslo<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the National Gallery of Norway is The Scream by Munch painted in 1893.\u00a0 Munch created several versions of this scene using paint, pastels, and lithograph prints.<\/p>\n

The Last Supper by da Vinci is in the monastery of Santa Maria delle Grazie. (Okay, we cheated.
