From the Airport<\/strong>: The Madrid-Barajas Airport is the city\u2019s main international airport. You may access the underground system from the airport to reach the downtown area. The metro line 8 runs to the Nuevos Ministerios station in central Madrid and takes about 15 minutes. You may also take a half-hour taxi ride into downtown Madrid. An additional \u20ac5.50 is applied to fares to and from the airport.
