Anywho, last week\u2019s rerun got me thinking about all the silly festivals that are happening all around the world this summer, and I wanted to share some of my faves:<\/p>\n
The\u00a0Silly Olympics<\/a>\u00a0in Camp Bestival returns in 2012 from July 26th\u00a0to 29th\u00a0at the scenic Lulworth Castle, set amidst England’s dramatic Jurassic coastline in Dorset. Book a\u00a0cheap flight to England<\/a>\u00a0and support the 2012 Silly Olympics!<\/p>\n Seussical<\/a>\u00a0The Musical<\/a>: In our very own backyard of Guelph, Ontario. Granted it\u2019s not really in the category of \u201csummer festivals\u201d but it\u2019s a Dr. Seuss Musical and who doesn\u2019t love all the little Whos down in Whoville, with little Cindy Lou Who, who was no more than two?!<\/p>\n Central<\/a>\u00a0Maine Egg Festival<\/a>: The 2012 Egg Festival will be held July 17th\u00a0to 21st\u00a0in, you guessed it, Maine. This year marks the 40th\u00a0\u201cEgg\u201dstravaganza. Book your\u00a0hotel room<\/a>\u00a0before the city sells out!<\/p>\n La Tomatina<\/a>\u00a0is held on the last Wednesday of August every year in Bunol, which is near Valencia, Spain. Thousands of tomato tossers come from all four corners of the world to participate in this ‘World’s Biggest Food Fight,’ where more than 100 metric tons of over-ripe tomatoes are thrown in the streets.<\/p>\n The 15th\u00a0annual\u00a0International Pickle Festival<\/a>\u00a0takes place this November 18th\u00a0in Rosendale, New York. Bring your appetite, bring your pickles!<\/p>\n
