Getting around Venice.<\/strong> All major airlines fly into Marco Polo, which is the closest airport to central Venice; followed by Treviso which is 70 minutes away by bus from Piazzale Roma and used by majority of the low-cost airlines. Water transfers into the historical centre is a 10 minute walk from the arrivals section. Although porters are available for free at busy times, visitors should still be prepared for a hike. \u00a0Taxis are also available at the left as you exit of the Marco Polo airport. Or you may opt for the reasonably priced public bus options: ACTV local buses and ATVO direct coaches which can both take you to Piazzale Roma.<\/p>\n

It is important to remember that on Sundays and holidays, and early mornings and late nights, public transportation in and around Venice operates on different time schedules.<\/p>\n
