It’s a great destination for honeymooners, couples, singles, families, and group travel. Los Cabos is a hot spot for celebrity sightings, whale watching in the winter months and year-round fishing. The famous El Arco, commonly called “the Arch”, is a real reference point in Los Cabos.

The three areas located in Los Cabos are Cabos San Lucas, San Jose Del Cabo and the resort corridor which is located between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose Del Cabo. San Jose Del Cabo is a quieter area of Los Cabos, known for its art district, fine dining, and shopping areas, whereas Cabo San Lucas is livelier and offers excursions such as jet skiing and snorkeling, bars, and flea markets. Beginning in December, there will be direct flights to Los Cabos from the Hamilton Airport!

I am very excited for the new Royal Decameron that is slated to open in December, located in San Jose Del Cabo. This is such a beautiful area, about 15 minutes to the Art District, fine dining and shopping. The Royal Decameron will have 153 rooms, two a la carte restaurants, pools with swim up bar, and a disco on site with drinks included. This exclusive Nolitours property is promising to be that hidden gem that so many of my clients are looking for. It has a reputation for good quality food and drinks and well-appointed, clean, comfortable rooms all at a great price-point.

Here’s a round-up of some of the other resorts I visited:

Hotels in San Jose Del Cabo

Barcelo Los Cabos (soon to be the Hyatt)
This chic hotel has two buffets and four themed restaurants. There are also many bars to choose from, including a martini bar, sports bar, lobby bar, swim-up bar, and theatre bar. During the day, swim at one of three pools, and in the evenings, unwind by the cozy fire pits on the beach.

The Hola Grand Faro
Great for families, the Hola Grand Faro has a kids’ club and five pools. The buildings have a unique Mexican style. You may choose a room in the main Sol Tower, Luna building, or Estrealla building.

Royal Solaris
The Royal Solaris is a lively, compact resort with a kids’ club and mini waterpark. There are four bars, two a la carte restaurants, and tennis and basketball courts on site.

Holiday Inn Resort Los Cabos
This resort is a quiet eco-tourism destination close to a bird sanctuary, nature reserve, and lagoon. At this property is one buffet and one specialty restaurant, a kids’ club, four pools, and eight bars.

Hotels in Cabo San Lucas

ME Cabo
This small, adults-only property is relaxed and trendy. It’s located on the famous “Nikki Beach” (also known as El Medano Beach) within walking distance of the town. The modern guestrooms, beautiful beach, and comfy cabana beds make this resort a fantastic choice.

Riu Palace Los Cabos
Riu Palace Los Cabos is ideal for couples, families, honeymooners, and groups. With four infinity pools and waiter service, an outdoor theatre, great dining options, and a gym overlooking the beach, this Riu property is one of my favourites.

Riu Santa Fe
Beside the Riu Palace is the Riu Santa Fe. It has an energetic atmosphere, four pools, and two a la carte restaurants, catering to people of all ages. The disco and 24 hour sports bar creates a fun hang-out spot during the evenings.

Hotels in between Cabos San Lucas and San Jose Del Cabo

Melia Cabo Real
A pool, kids’ club, two a la carte restaurants, a snack bar, buffet, and three bars can be found at this resort. For some added fun, there is a zip line and climbing wall.

Secrets Marquis
This is a quieter resort.
