Most excellent resort

All staff are constant,y cleaning the surroundings and making sure that all visitors are well cared for. This is exceptional. The staff are super friendly and make efforts to be of help always. This is my second time here and plan to return.

Fantastic!

Absolutely fantastic resort. Staff were amazing and attentive, courteous and friendly always. The food was amazing and the resort property is stunning! Anse Mamin is so quiet and the trails, beach and restaurants are so beautiful! There are a lot of stairs, and the place is significantly more wild than some of the marble-clad places elsewhere in the Caribbean, but this was exactly why we chose Anse Chastanet and were not disappointed at all! We did the birding hike with Mano (Father Nature) [... read more] and highly recommend this for information on both flora and fauna of St Lucia! We also did the Jungle Biking with Tyson and it was awesome - highly recommended! We also hiked up the Tinker Trail to the lookout and then took a dip in the ocean to cool off. Very much worth the effort. After having traveled to several destinations in the Caribbean, we would be hard pressed to consider going anywhere else ever again. Could not recommend more highly!

Unique lush tropical design and setting with magnificent views of sea and mountains.

Anse Chastanet resort, authentic architectural design reflecting island culture and respecting hillside terrain. No main accommodation building. The unique individual room structures are married to landscape features. Gardeners keep the property in beautiful condition. Octagonal rooms clean and comfortable with artistic decor and balconies offering great views. No radio or TV, by intent. Musicians play in the bar during the evenings. Very friendly attentive staff. A ⁷number of intimate open [... read more]-air dining rooms to choose from and excellent food offerings striving towards gourmet, individual service (no buffet except one special theme evening by the beach). No swimming pool, which is Ok as it would not be suitable to the property. Excellent spacious sandy beaches with plenty of loungers and kept clean of debris on a daily basis. Swimming great with no crashing waves and good for snorkeling as well. Only thing found to disturb the tranquility is a tour company catamaran dropping off tourists (cruise ship passengers) on the beach for about an hour once or twice a day. Usually no more than 50. The resort cannot prohibit this as all beaches are public but is negotiating conditions with the government. The tourists cannot use the resort facilities though. This was my second holiday at this resort and the high quality of service and facilities have been maintained. A unique experience and setting here, not to be found in the chain resorts. For individuals with difficulty walking uphill, this property may not be as convenient though car shuttle service is available at no extra cost. I would definitely return again.

One of a kind resort

The entire arrangement is exceptional. Very friendly, helpful staff. Beach and food fabulous. I was impressed by the three-sided open air rooms which allowed the bird songs, breezes and sounds of the surf to wake one up in the morning. We enjoyed the snorkeling and the quiet of the beaches. No music to interrupt the sounds of Nature. Really, back to the staff....I have travelled a lot in the Caribbean and found that Anse Chastanet staff has probably been to a CONGENIALITY SCHOOL because every [... read more]body looked happy, spic and span,open and ready to help in whatever way they could. They are exceptional. I hope their salaries are acceptable, although we tipped off and on.

Amazing Vacation Spot

We booked a week at Anse Chastanet for our 10 year anniversary, and we couldn't have been happier! We had a lot of issues with the air lines, including the loss of our luggage, but the staff at Anse Chastanet was so accomedating, including opening their store to provide my husband with contact solution. Our room was large, and had a view of both the ocean and the mountains. Each night, the staff would light a bug light and set up a bug net on the bed. The beach chairs and umbrellas that are provided, make for a beautiful spot to spend the day. Some days the beach did get a bit crowded with other people visiting from other resorts and cruise ships. There are also a lot of steps down to the beach, but a shuttle is available to take you up or down. The staff were always friendly and helpful. Anything we needed, they were quick to help. Make sure to check out the chocolate lab, to make your own chocolates.

Perfect Traditional Carib Colonial Resort

Staff go above and beyond to make you feel as part of their family. The cuisine and choices for dining are amazing, delicious. The beach is so lovely you dont miss not having a pool, which is why I didnt give it 5 star, however there are pools at Jade Mountain, which is part of the Anse Chastanet Resort. We booked Beach Deluxe which has Air Conditioning. The Mountain side rooms and Jade Mountain are open air and do not have air conditioning. This is my third visit to St.Lucia and the Anse Chastanet experience has captured my heart. That being said, try to avoid Air Canada Vacations - they are horrible and have no representation here on the island if you need to change or speak to someone. I was on hold for two days for over 35 minutes each time with transfers to 3 different people. West Jet also flies and I'd suggest you forgo the "The Air Canada Arrogance" - pc2

Unique, excellent resort

Anse Chastenet is a gem in every regard. I credit the staff first and foremost. They made it easy to enjoy the amazing physical beauty, views of the Pitons from our room 6b, 5 star meals, Treehouse restaurant overlooking the forest canopy, stunning beaches and healthy reef right off the beaches. The resort is built up the side of Jade mountain. This can be a long steep climb to your room which we stubbornly insisted on climbing even though shuttles are available from all points of the resort.  [... read more]Our calf muscles seized up day 1 but were in fine shape the rest of the week (65 year old calf muscles). We were apprehensive about no AC in the room but found it very comfortable and it would be sacrilege to close up the room and miss the jungle symphony at night. Room 6b is an octagon with outstanding views of the Pitons from windows and the wrap around verandah. Granted, the bathroom gets a tad crowded with 2 people in it but we managed just fine. Maybe the next reno will open it up a bit. All restaurants were a treat, fresh fish, lamb, vegetarian, Indian fusion and beach bar foods hit the mark every time. We were lucky to have lunch at the Jade Mountain Resort as well. Do it if at all possible. It's only a little farther up the mountain to it's peak! I also wondered about weather when considering Anse Chastenet in December. Locals said the rainy season was hanging around longer this year. The result was torrential cloud bursts at night and beautiful 29C sunny days with occasional brief sun showers and the most incredible rainbows. As I said, staff were incredible. Unobtrusive, welcoming and dedicated to making it all work seamlessly. We are lazy vacationers (if you exclude running, snorkelling, kayaking) but there are lots of trips and excursions available in the vicinity, volcano mud bath, Piton climb, Jazzy sunset cruise. And the nightly music was very good. Shout out to Jungle, the water taxi captain and Melvin the dancing bartender. I wish I had written names down because so many people made our vacation wonderful. We were on the AI plan which I would recommend.

Fantastic honeymoon destination.

We just returned from an amazing stay at Anse Chastanet. It is hard to put into words just how beautiful and magical this resort is, even pictures don't do it justice. We stayed in 2C which was not far up the hillside, but still offered an amazing 180 degree view of the pitons, terrain, and water. The friendly staff, thoughtful details, delicious food and spectacular service all exceeded our expectations. The snorkelling right off the beach is quite varied and interesting. This resort may not be [... read more] for everyone, but if you love nature, beautiful views, exceptional service and don't mind stairs I can't imagine that you won't be beyond happy with your vacation. We were worried about the lack of air conditioning before we went, as my husband overheats easily, but the thoughtful design of the room and fans kept us more than comfortable. We like to visit new places when we travel, and so make it a general rule not to return to resorts we have already visited, but with Anse Chastanet we will make an exception. We will definitely be back.
