Our Stay at The Copacabana Hotel in Miramar Cuba

I love this hotel. It's by no means a high end hotel but it has it's charm. The thing I like best is the ocean pool since there are no real beaches to speak of in Havana, you have to travel quite a ways to get to one.

Good resort

Hotel definitely needs some renovation. Staff was very helpful and nice towards customer. Upon knowing us (as we took some clothes for the staff) they offered us free meal as well which was really heartouching. Washrooms need more attention especially water pressure. Hotel was clean and regular service was provided to us. All in all what we paid for ,we received it. Neither too bad nor too good

Very comfortable resort

I have stayed in several different hotels in Cuba at this price range. I found this hotel to be clean, with very nice staff. Far enough and yet close enough to Old Havana! A very enjoyable stay. Room and bathroom were very clean. I was pleasantly surprised.

Good place

The staff was friendly and helpful, grounds, swimming pool, restaurants were well maintained. The room could have been dusted well, and the bathroom designed better. Water backed up in the shower. The towels, though changed, were not well washed. I would recommend this hotel to some friends, not all my friends.

Decent place

Nice and safe location. We stayed for a week and had a great time. Staff were friendly and helpful. Clean and updated rooms with great view. Food was blend taste but I think that's very general and expected in Cuba. Definitely worth the price.

Good value

We found the Copacabana a perfectly acceptable hotel at less than half the price of hotels one notch up. The hotel has several wings, which may differ in condition, but the wing we were in (room numbers starting with 3) was renovated, everything worked, space was adequate, and the beds were comfortable. We spent three nights there, during a record-breaking cold spell, with howling winds and waves crashing over the sea wall into the salt water swimming pool. Service was friendly and professional, although the room upkeep girl left little doubt about how much she craved a tip. Be generous. She is probably supporting a whole family on her earnings. Previous reviewers have complained about the breakfast. Well-made omelets were the centerpiece of a buffet with considerable variety and some variation day-to-day. Missing however were such standards as crisp bacon, Danish pastries, and whole-grain cereal. Cereal in Cuba is regarded as kid stuff; the only oatmeal we could find in supermarkets was baby food, but it was okay mixed with fruit juice. Be prepared to pay a lot for dicey Internet service anywhere in Cuba--or leave your electronics at home and enjoy the freedom. $4 for a local telephone call was rather steep, though. The tourist bus goes right past the hotel--$5 pp for a round trip to the old city. The official stop is on the hotel side, from which the bus takes you to the end of the line before heading back to the city. However, we have seen the bus pick up people on the opposite side of the street, on its way to the old city.

Excellent Value!

We stayed in the new wing, great view, outlets did not needs converter! Staff was excellent, evening lounge entertainment was lovely (not amazing but fun!). The disco next door was really fun. Across the street is a restaurant called 'Lavastida.' It is the best food I've ever eaten in Cuba and extremely well pried. I did not enjoy the buffet at the hotel so this was a great find. I highly recommend checking it out! This hotel is right on the tourist bus route into downtown Havana.
