Stay away!

I stayed 14 days it was a nightmare. Lots of things didnt work in our room. Its a big resort so please be aware there will be alot of walking. No buses, it takes forever. Food was horrible. Service was terrible. Beach had a bad smell and alot of sargassum. As a female I didn't feel safe and I'll not return.

Beautiful Beach and Grounds!

Loved the beach and grounds. So well kept and full of peacocks! The room was very well maintained and no complaints other than outside noise from people coming and going but then again we were on the first floor. Food and drinks were fantastic too!

Beautiful Resort!

The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The rooms are modern, clean and spacious. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food is amazing. The beach is awesome!! My complaints are, they offer nothing for returning guests and the a la carte restaurants have very little to no AC, which makes it uncomfortable and very warm. The pool is great, however too many kids/toddlers in main pool. They have two other pools designated for kids only. It would be better if they had an adults only pool. Repeat visit to this resort

I personally love the layout of this resort and where our room was in relation to the beach as well as buffet. We stayed in building 11 and because I love to walk I was able to get around everywhere without using the tram. For those in my group who found it hard to walk any distance they would just jump on and off the tram and there were no complaints from them . Love the fact that they never ran out of towels and you could just exchange at end of each day. You did have to set yourself up at beach early otherwise you may not get the spot that you wanted with some shade. This is typical of most resorts so not a big deal. Food was good however fruit choices were limited to mostly the melon family which I don’t like but the bananas and pineapple were very good. The steak house was our favourite and the food there was so good. I would definitely go back to this resort.

Wonderful resort.

Resort was big but easily accessible, the train ran regularly. Bungalow suites were well appointed and big and the resort was clean. Beach was amazing, soft white sand and seaweed was under control. Staff was friendly and helpful.From check in to check out we had no issues. At check in, Carlos M. was patient with our requests and helped with booking rooms close to each other as we were travelling with friends.We were able to keep one suite past the 12 noon checkout as we were coming back late. Food at the à la cartes was good, strongly recommend Samara (Indian) and the beach buffet was good, not a lot of variety but always found something to eat. Had breakfast and lunch at the buffet every day. They were grilling something and making palella every lunch hour on the patio by the beach.The main buffet was good, with lots of variety. The food and bar trucks at the beach were a nice touch. Have no problem recommending this resort to couples and families. We would have no problem returning to this resort. Excellent location, great staff, super clean rooms and beautiful grounds Large spacious rooms, very clean Beach front and large pool as well Family section also available with lots after activities We feel very safe and always have a great vacation here Highly recommend it We’ve been back 7 times!!

Beautiful Resort

We were there during the school break and of course it was crowded. The resort is huge and the staff were prepared to handle the number of people with minimum issues. Resort and grounds are beautiful, with lots of birds and other wildlife. The beach was great except the amount of peddlers which continually disturb you. I counted 20 in ten minutes at our cot area. The pool is great with lot of cots. Rooms are very modern and cleaned daily, no issues. The buildings are three floors, but care [... read more] must be taken when going up / down the stairs. The concrete steps and landing are similar in colour and easy to miss a step. Handrails would be a great safety addition to the stairwells. We went to three specialty restraints, steakhouse, Italian and Mexican and found the food very good. They also handled a food allergy without issue. We had breakfast and lunch at the beach buffet and food trucks. The buffet needs to be bigger as lines for the egg station or pasta station are long and interfere with access to other dishes. The utensils at the buffet for outside are plastic but steel inside except all spoons are plastic which for hot items and drinks can cause a problem. The biggest issue we found is the traffic flow of the trams, trucks and motor scooters. They drive on walking pathways between the buildings and can be dangerous. Overall we enjoyed the resort, and the staff were very friendly and efficient.

Stay #2 in Bavaro GBP

It should be obvious that we really like this all-inclusive resort as this waa our 2nd stay. With so many choices in Punta Cana, that is saying something! We love the Platinum suites. They are spacious, modern, well located and the services are top notch. The reserved beach and loungers are great. The lounger bar service is great. Thanks to Ramon Perez and Anthony we had lots of tasty drinks! The food at the bookable restaurants is varied, tasty and well presented.

Beautiful resort

This resort is amazing . It is quite massive but the atmosphere is so beautiful. The eco walk was so cool with all the wildlife. We enjoyed all the peacocks, mascovy ducks and egrets and herons who own the place. So many a la carte and a beautiful beach and pool to enjoy. I will add that if you can afford make sure to go platinum because the exclusive buffet, grill and soho restaurant are worth the uncharted for sure

Very large resort

Had trouble with our room, door wouldn't close, had no hot water and our phone didn't work to call the front desk. Good thing we went with friends so they were able to help. We had to ask a grounds keeper to help us with the door as no one ever showed up. Some days we never had a room cleaning, so no replacement of water in fridge or coffee and no clean towels. Disappointed with lack of entertainment at night, just a Dj playing music

Large, wide and fun!

Clean, well-organized resort with courteous staff. Loved the peacocks roaming around - I didn't know they can "scream" so loudly. Food trucks? really? Those were my first thoughts. Boy, they came in handy so close to the beach wen I needed energy to battle the waves. I could have all the wings and burittos while listening to country music coming from "El Gaucho." Super Bowl, what a party? If you get stuck on small things like your fridge is not being refilled fast, you may need to look somewhere else. Want to bring back souvenirs? Get them at the resort. Super pricey and limited variety at the airport. Would go back and recommend.

Excellent Beach Vacation

We just returned from our one-week stay (February 4–11) and had a wonderful experience overall. We chose the Platinum section and were very happy with that decision. As beach lovers, the location was perfect for us. We stayed in Building 67, conveniently located between the Platinum Reception and the Cappuccino Coffee Bar — about a five-minute walk to the beach. Our room faced the Tropical/Caribe/Punta Cana Princess resort (where we stayed two years ago), with a vacant lot in between. While the [... read more] view wasn’t the highlight, it certainly didn’t matter given how little time we spent in the room. The room itself was one of the nicest we’ve had — very modern, and most importantly a comfortable bed. Toiletries were provided (great for anyone who prefers not to pack full bottles), and the minibar was well stocked with water, pop, and beer. Complimentary full bottles of rum, vodka, and scotch were also included, with additional bottles available for purchase if needed. We appreciated that the room key was part of the resort bracelet — no worrying about lost cards! We used the app to book our à la carte reservations. Reservations open weekly on Sundays for the upcoming week (for example, you can’t book Monday on Saturday). We weren’t limited in the number of restaurants we could try, which was fantastic. The filet mignon at El Gaucho was excellent — I ordered it medium well and it was cooked perfectly. The pizza at Focaccia was also very good. The only slight disappointment was the food trucks, where the fries were cold and my hamburger didn’t seem fully cooked, so I chose not to eat it. Otherwise, we found the food to be very enjoyable. We visited the main lobby area twice for evening entertainment. The theatre space appeared to be set up in a conference-style room and didn’t have programming on the nights we checked. There was live music in the open lobby area, which we enjoyed. We did stop by the sports bar and were surprised that games like pool, air hockey, and foosball had an additional fee. At $8 Canadian for a game of pool, it felt a bit pricey for an all-inclusive resort. Most of our time was spent at the beach. We never had difficulty finding chairs. My husband would head down around 7 a.m., and we would go straight to the beach after breakfast. There is beach service as well as a beach bar. The PBG rooftop bar is a great space, though it can be quite windy and cool in the evenings — I was glad to have a long-sleeved jacket along. One thing to note is that the Platinum section is not adults-only. This didn’t matter for us, but it may be helpful information for others when booking. The majority of the staff were friendly and accommodating. There were a few minor service hiccups, but nothing that detracted from our overall enjoyment. All in all, we truly enjoyed our stay and would absolutely recommend this resort to other travellers looking for a relaxing beach vacation!

Very nice resort

The resort was well kept, rooms were clean and modern. Air conditioning worked very well. Beach was incredible! One interesting experience was the peacocks! They were everywhere and very tame and so beautiful. Pool was gorgeous. Only things that could be improved on are entertainment and having more golf carts to get around (however we were there at full capacity). Great Resort - Platinum Suite

Our two weeks were great. Highly recommend Platinum Suite. Exclusive checkin and restaurants. Platinum beach area and chairs were comfortable. Drinks were delivered to us by wonderful Perez ...he is amazing!

Amazing resort

Bávaro Princess is located on the widest and most beautiful part of the beach. The restaurants serve delicious food and the wait staff are very friendly and attentive to your needs! The rooms are all suites with a large sitting area and a very spacious deck. The grounds are very well maintained and beautiful. A great place to vacation.

Relaxation, spectacular scenery and great service!

Visited Grand Bavaro Nov 27 thru Dec 11th. Our 4th time at the resort and stayed in building 5 near the pool and beach. Rooms are getting a bit tired with some minor maintenance issues and soon due for new furniture but were spacious and well appointed. Our room was equipped with a dehumidifier which helped to reduce the musty smell. If the air conditioning worked properly and was kept “on” I suspect mustiness wouldn’t have been an issue. Visited most restaurants…favorites were el Gaucho (s [... read more]teakhouse) and Wasabi (sushi) were standouts. Also enjoyed Samara, Focaccia, Il Tartufo. Ate breakfast and lunch daily at, Trapiche, the beach buffet (and food trucks). Service was incredible. Staff were so willing to do whatever possible to ensure vacationers expectations were met and exceeded. Beach is the best in the area. The resort has a huge stretch of beach with great depth from palms to the ocean, even at high tide. Water is normally quite rough but rarely too rough to enjoy! Although we didn’t frequent the pool, we walked by it many times each day. The work effort of cleaning it was apparent at all hours of the day. We did have some minor stomach issues and saw incidents where food handling could definitely be improved upon, but overall it’s apparent that food service is well managed. When walking or sitting out at night, use bug spray. Although they spray the resort daily, we did have a few bites and found bug spray nightly to be beneficial. So, the rooms are nice…but a bit tired. The food is very good for a resort. The beach is beautiful and a good part of the reason we go to the resort but, the primary reason we will continue to go is the service! Wait staff usually work two locations so rather than review each restaurant, a shout out the the spectacular service of Juan Dario, Pedro, Bares, Wilfred, Antoine, Yesel, Juan and Eddy who did a absolutely spectacular job looking after folks at the beach buffet all day and then taking their skills to Al La Carter’s in the evenings. A shout out to Angel, Alexis and Ramon who did a great job serving folks from the “bar truck” and to Scarlet who managed the door at the beach buffet. Would definitely recommend the resort. All resorts have some drawbacks but the staff at this resort make the difference. They want to know what they can do to make your time better…so if you are disappointed with something, address it politely and move on to enjoying your stay!

Amazing time

This is a great place, service outstanding, grounds immaculate, great pool and beach is amazing. Entertainment was very good and the Christmas festivities very enjoyable. Resort for Christmas was full of lights everywhere. Enjoyed the stay very much.

Honest review

Staff started working at 7:30 am and would talk outside of our room VERY loudly to each other which woke us up. After three days of complaining they finally stopped. Did not get fresh towels every day. Had to ask. Room smelled musty. Terrible entertainment. Food not great.

Large Resort

The front desk staff were accommodating when our first room smelled of mold. The rooms were large in size with a separate seating area. The resort has a beautiful beach that they kept clean to the best of their ability. The pool was busy but you could always find a chair. Drinks were delicious and food was delicious. I would recommend taking a taxi from the airport, as we waited over an 1 hr to leave then had to drop people off at different locations. Wasn’t very happy with the Resort

No bed sheets, broken tv, fire Alarm going off all hours within the unit which was reported and nothing done. Food poisoning, lack of English, bar tenders over serving guests to the point of getting sick . Rude wait staff at the platinum beach bar and restaurant
