Great resort

We hope to return next year our time at the resort was great our room was out date but we want to.stay on the same floor next year in.3260.the food we rate 10 star for all the time we eat in buffet and the la carte The weather wasn't great of all the time we had 5 days of good weather that hasn't nothing do for the resort faults the workers were so helpful and friendly we felt so sad for all the workers that have no job they work so hard

Great Resort, Great People

This resort was wonderful. The staff were great, the facilities were in good shape and pretty well maintained. Some of the boardwalks could use some work to make them a bit safer. There was always lots of food. The rooms were clean. The beach was amazing! The ocean was so clean. The evening entertainment was great, but not intended for kids. If you are looking for a great resort that gives to great value for your money, I would highly recommend this resort.

Amazing resort and people

From the food to the beach, the staff are amazing, always smiling. Loved this resort will go back again definitely. Met some new friends and had an absolutely fabulous time here. Did a few excursions, the glass bottom boat was awesome, went fishing on the Hobi cat with the life guard Sammy, was a great day

Amazing month!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Iberostar Daiquiri in Cayo Guillermo for a full month, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The staff is truly exceptional—everyone goes out of their way to make you feel welcome and at home. The front desk team is always helpful and friendly, the service staff throughout the resort is amazing, and the bartenders deserve a special mention for their great drinks, smiles, and friendly conversations that make every day even better. I can’t recommend the Iberostar Daiquiri enough for anyone looking for a warm, welcoming, and unforgettable stay.

Piece of Paradise

We had a truly memorable experience at Iberostar Daiquiri. It’s an extremely family-friendly resort with beautiful architecture and stunning grounds. Walking through the property is a pleasure on its own. Yanis and Marlie were in charge of the kids’ entertainment, and they were amazing. They speak fluent English and organized many interactive and educational activities throughout the day—percussion lessons, arts and crafts, kids’ trivia, and more. Their energy and personalities really made a difference. The adult entertainment team was also extremely talented. They put great passion into their daily events, making the days fun and engaging for everyone. The food was one of the highlights of our stay and deserves special mention due to how important it is for many travelers. The buffet always had plenty of variety, and everything was fresh and well-prepared. Fun and relaxing at resort

This Resort is dated but very clean . The staff are very friendly, There is lots of food available at the buffet . If you're looking for a buffet that serves steaks, salmon , large servings of seafood, this is not your resort. This is a resort that allows you to relax at the ocean front or at the 2 large pools . There are lots of beverages at the bar, mixed drinks and lots of cold beer. Just make sure you bring mosquito repellent!

Not bad except...

The hotel room was more than adequate. Cleaned daily. Housekeeping staff very thorough, attentive and kind. Water pressure was fine and plenty of hot water. Pool was good, no complaints. Plenty of lounge chairs as it's slow season. Buffet was adequate/good. Chicken, beef and pork every day. Pasta was amazing. Assortment of fresh fruits and veggies. Lots of bread, no eggs at all. Biggest issue: local cubans arrived, and took over the entire resort. I observed at the snack bar, numerous times peo [... read more]ple ordering stacks of ham and cheese buns, like 10 of them. They eat 2 and throw the rest out. This goes on all day, everywhere. And you are stuck waiting 1/2 hour for a sandwich. The buffet is even worse. They race in, swarm the buffet, grab 3 or 4 plates each, stacked high with all the meat, bread, cakes, ice cream.. and then they WASTE IT ALL! ..Except for the day they are leaving. Where they take practically everything they can from the buffet. The entire grill of meat..ALL the cakes...everything...then they throw it in containers and take it with them. After waiting 45mins for them to be done, there's not much left. And it's picked over. They leave their garbage everywhere, paper cups, plates, cigarette butts, dirty diapers. I spoke with someone about this, and my understanding is management is afraid to address this because they fear retaliation.(bad reviews or loud arguments) and staff go along with it because they fear reprisal from management. It would have been an excellent vacation spot but for the 3 or 4 days of dealing with this. All the staff are tremendously friendly, warm, helpful and kind. The only other issue i had was the beach. A lot of plant matter raked up in long strips on the beach and left to rot, which stank. And the water has a lot of sea shells, and coral, which requires water shoes. However there's a much nicer beach. Playa Pillar which is a short bus ride away. I would not return to this resort until I was assured that management has found a way to address the locals.

Amazing staff and beautiful resort

I went in June and the resort and staff were lovely......BUT I would never again go on the off season, the Mossys at night would carry you away and they opened the resort up to local Cubans to book to stay. I have never seen so many disrespectful people iny life, right from the amount of food they waisted to the complete ignorance they had for other people on the resort. I would go back but only during tourist season.

Interstate Daiquiri in Cuba

I can not express this enough-the staff members of the Daiquiri are Amazing. From the staff to the serving staff, to the bartenders and garden staff are so friendly and accommodating. The beach, for me, left a lot to be desired. The water is very “grassy” and did not give the water view I was looking for. The area is windy, which is great for the wind surfers and kite surfing. Trip was ruined by the weather - very strong wind

Visited Iberostar Origin Daiquiri April 16-23. BEACH: 1. Weather was sunny, the water was warm, but due to extremely strong wind (up to 40-50 km/hour) we felt cold on the beach and in the water. Heaven for kite surfers, but we did not enjoy our time on the beach. 2. There were NO water sports available, neither catamaran trip to coral reefs, due to the wind 3. It was a nicer beach about 2 km to the left at Sol Cayo Guillermo hotel RESORT PROS: 1. Small size of the resort, everything is close, many trails to the beach with showers on each 2. Tasty food: meat, chicken, turkey, fish, cheese 3. Comfortable rooms, nice balconies, quite air conditioning 4. Comfortable mattress and pillows 5. Good espresso 6. No mosquitoes (I guess, due to the wind) 7. No power outages RESORT CONTRAS: 1. Looks like the management is bad. 4 stars? REALLY? Nobody met us when we exited the bus. No welcome drinks as well. No bellboy/carts, we had to carry luggage ourselves. At least the receptionist described where our building is. No printed maps of the resort were given. 2. No soft drinks/beer in the fridge. 3. NO 110v outlet in the bathroom! We payed $20 a week for antique transformer for our water pick flosser 4. No normal milk, only milk powder. Cappuccino was awful. 5. Limited glass in the main bar. Coffee from the paper cups had a cardboard taste. Paper cups were not the quality of Tim Horton’s ones 6. Poor variety of spirits in the main bar. Better bottles (on the left, and on the right) for sale only. One evening (8 pm) they even run out of ANY cuban rum 7. No plates for the soup. Used paper cups 8. Ping pong set is garbage, especially rackets 9. Never seen a cigar bar open. 10. Music at the pool was very loud. In the lobby in the evening way TOO LOUD. People can not talk to one another. 11. Water with some kind of colour was displayed under the name of “juce” 12. La Marina restaurant was closed for renovation 13. Internet connections are getting lost often. Sometimes you need to go to the front desk, and complain, and they do something on the computer (my guess is to disconnect the other user) to let you in. 14. I don’t think they ever swept the floor in our room.

Fantastic. Exceeded expectations

Having being in Cuba a number of times this was our best experience so far. The qaintness of this resort means everything was minutes away. Beach room and food. The pool is probably a bit small if it was full. Beach is great and short walk to really shallow and sandy spot. Lots of kite boarders on right beach provided entertainment. Fresh fish cooked at meals. Simple food but fresh and delicious. Great value vacation.

Amazing

We stayed at the Iberostar daquarie in Cayo Guillermo amd it was an absolute unbelievable week. The food was plentiful and alot of varieties. The staff bent over backwards to make our vacation the best ever. The beach, pool, bars and restaurants lived up to our hopes and dreams.

Very Enjoyable

The hotel was very nice and the grounds were very well kept, there was always people working and cleaning. The maids did a good job of looking after the rooms. I’m not a fussy eater so I was always able to find something to eat. Sunwing put on a dinner for the guests, nice touch. The hotel staff at check-in were extremely friendly and polite. Jose and Andrea were wonderful to us. Will I return, probably !

A wonderful vacation

This was our second visit to Original Daiquiri and we loved it, the grounds are beautifully kept, the lobby bar, is a great social place to be, the bartenders there are the best and so are the bartenders at the pool bar. All the staff are wonderful, but the one thing we love is the beach, great for long walks. We have no complaints, hopefully we will be back next year.

Exceeded expectations

Surprisingly, after so many bad news in the media about various shortages, this resort had everything. The food was fresh and variated, rooms were very clean and cleaned every day, the bar had what we wanted and no waiting lines, the staff amazing! Cannot think of negatives for this resort, 4 star indeed.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri is so nice.

The variety of food was very good considering this is Cuba. The resort was clean. Staff was friendly and the stores were open often. The pools were clean and maintained. The beach was awesome. The activities were plentiful. Room service was great. The rooms themselves were a bit dated. Fridge worked. We had hot water in the shower. Suggestions: they need to install more hooks. We had nowhere to hang up our wet towels and swim suits. We could have used an extra dresser as well.

Great resort 4th visit

Great Christmas Experience

I must say when we first got to the resort we were pretty unhappy with the food and our room. The room we had was right beside the shared balcony, and our sliding door lock was broken. However we got our room changed, and the food was way better the next day. Yes cuba food is cuba food, but normally we don't have issues with that as we can always find something. My eyes just about popped out of my head with amazement! The shows were fantastic, and the Christmas events they put on for the children was amazing! I love the Cuban culture with their children. So very nice! I thoroughly enjoyed the events. We also noticed they were roasting a pig and turkey outside so we went over to investigate. The guys there were hand turning them for 6 hours! That is crazy, and it was very tasty. It is a very windy area, and because of that there were many people wind surfing, which was fun to watch. We normally snorkel alot, but this time of year the water isn't very warm. So we only got in the ocean once. We were told this area isn't great for snorkeling! Nice resort

it was our first time in Cuba. the resort was nice, the staff were all very sweet and helpful, the hotel rooms were clean with AC, the pool was nice and clean, it had nice entertainment for families during the day as well as at night, the food was good but they had lots of flies on the food in their open buffet restaurant. this resort could properly use some food containers that has lids to avoid the flies from standing on the food.

Great resort! Great time!

My sister and I stayed at Iberostar Daiquiri Cuba June 13-20. It was my second time and even better. Great weather. The resort was so clean, the food so plentiful and varied, the à la cart restaurants were great. We even had lobster. They cleaned the pools daily and the pools were great as was the beach. Coffee at the front bar was the best.
