Average to Good

Good things: 1.There was no shortage in fruits for buffets and there were enough breakfast options. 2. Nice Greek ala carte restaurant. 3. Showers at the beach were working good 4. Towel handling at the beach were friendly, however some towels had small stains which is ok and normal as long as they are clean 5. Swimming pools were nice however there were many dirty stuff in them that was from the users so It is normal to see those. 6. Billiard and table tennis people were friendly howev [... read more]er the tables were a bit old but that is also absolutely fine. 7. Internet was good in the area except for the beach which is normal. 8. Rogers roaming had no issue at all in the resort and also in the region. 9. Hard working staff were almost all nice mannered. Bad things: 1.More than 95% of the foods were not tagged their content in English. 2. Even though the room was renovated there were plenty of spiders. 3. The ocean water was full of seaweed and the water was mixed with too much sand and therefore it was not pleasant at all to swim or snorkel. some days the beach was smelling like toilet too. 4. There were too many local merchants at the beach and some of them were not morally good people, some of them were extremely pushy to sell you stuff that you don't need. 5. Even some of the people from the resort did not have good behavior if you did not buy their packages after they explained to us. 6. The best food I liked there was pizza and that means a lot. It means if a restaurant does not have enough good food you would end up going for French fries and pizza, however I would not say that it was bad however they could put a bit more effort to make the dishes better. 7. Ala carte restaurant of Mexican was just ok a bit salty, The Mongolian was very good except that a piece of broken plate was found in her food after biting it she found out. 8. Room temperature was not greatly controlled it is either too cold or you have to turn it off. But this problem existed in a few other places that we were in the past. 9. Fast food at the beach closes too early 10. On the arrival at the airport it was not very easy to find our shuttle. 11. At the registry of the first minutes of arrival I am expecting that sales men do not approach us too much so we can get to our room and get some rest in that hot climate. 12. some nights was for sales men to have their jewelry demonstrating on the desks for sale, they were also a bit pushy too. 13. We were buying this package under the assumption that we were allowed to use one more buffet of a different resort but that did not happen. Might be our mistake. I don't have time to go back and check all the papers. 14. We also were not allowed to go and check at least one of the other resorts for their night programs. Our night entertainment was just ok. Yet I appreciate their effort.

Not impressed

The resort that serves burnt food, no towels in washroom and begging for water I didn’t feel that good at all. People needs to be bit compassionate about the tips and money they r getting from tourists. Also makes little easy for check in process so people will understand it clear and better.

Beautiful resort

Will definitely recommend this resort to family and friends The place was clean, friendly environment and great food except the Truck snack bar. The empanada and the chicken wings are not very appetizing. The alacarte are really good and the buffet selection are excellent

Amazing Resort

Overall, we had an amazing time. Weather was perfect, pools awesome and clean, a little bit of seaweed on the beach but nothing to keep you out of the warm blue water, food was great, we attended 2 amazing a la cartes while there, People were so friendly and helpful, rooms were clean and well stocked, except the last 2 days we were there - seems we were missed for clean towels, but I reuse mine anyway so not a big deal and Nice little tourist shops in the Village and at the Lobby. A Dream Come True!

The hotel was beautiful and modern. Very clean. Excellent staff. Amazing quality and variety of food and drinks. A trip I’ll never forget! 10/10 can’t wait to come back! Thank you to Shannon Aishford for helping me and my group through this trip!

Beautiful resort!

Absolutely loved our stay at Bahia Principe Grand Punta Cana. The beaches were stunning, the sand was clean and the water was lovely. The pools were conveniently located with swim up bars and great service. The food was also super tasty. The room we stayed in was recently upgraded and was comfortable, however, the shower had some issues draining. The weather was perfect the entire week and I would definitely come back here again.

We went to Paradise and came back with Parasites!

This trip was the 3rd to Bahia Principe in Punta Cana, the first was a couple of years in Amber and the last two to Grand Punta Cana. The suite was adequate (as we made sure to have one renovated), the maid services were OK (“rewarded” daily) and to our positive surprise the food was generally better than last year. We had dinners a-La-carte in 6 different restaurants and overall was better than last year. As we are beach lovers and already accustomed with getting the sun beds on the beach (wa [... read more]ke up very early) we did not “suffer” as the rest of the over tourists masses not getting place and being very frustrated. Generally the staff is hard working (in a DR rhythm) and we did not have any problems in dealing with them. The alcoholic drinks are actually very watery and use a low grade quality alcohol. However a constant bar request for a drink, along with a minimum of 1US dollar bill helps at the beginning of the evening, but later not as much due to the overwhelming presence of tourists. Unfortunately we came back with some “local” visitors (parasites) that finally have establish their home in my sole feet and provoked an aggressive infection that is still require treatment after was diagnosed by doctors to emergency and tropical clinic. Clear, the parasites have been “collected” from the resort beach as we did not moved outside of the resort’s beach anytime. Overall an unforgettable experience that will deny us for any further beach resort visits in the future.

Good but..

It used to be absolutely great .. now resort was overcrowded.... ....because of that: lines, service is down, food: not as good as expected.. room was excellent, location is excellent, need to come at 6:00 am to get chair at beach or pool..

Bahia Principe Grand

This was a wonderful hotel. The grounds were very clean. The service very helpful. More choice of different hotels on the same ground. The food was also good, lots of choices with the option of other restaurants on site. I would highly recommend this place to friends.

Great resort

The hotel is huge, grounds are very well kept, well manacured. Our room and bathroom were spotless. There were no shortage of pools to swim in or sit by, the beach was fantastic. You will not go hungry there are plenty of places to eat our favorite was the Thai restaurant, great food and very attentive staff. The only fly in the ointment for us was the line up for breakfast in the mornings, as I said it's a big place and there are lots of people. You won't be disappointed.

We enjoyed our time at the Bahia Principe Grand Punta Cana. Food was really good, drinks at lobby were excellent, pool bar mixed drinks were hit and miss. Cleaning staff did a great job keeping our room. The resort was very clean including the public washrooms. Buffets had a good assortment of food and was fresh, our a la carts were also very good. We really enjoyed the show at the Fantasia garden circus although we thought it was an a al cart and later charged $50 a head. Be aware of that.  [... read more] As two friends on vacation, we requested two double beds and had to share a king.. was given a nicer room and was told to go next day to see if any double rooms available. That caused some grief. It was hard to find beach chairs at beach and multiple pools which left others having to lay on the concrete or sand which is not cool. Most people didn't show up all day to use them because they saved chairs in multiple places. Signs were posted against saving chairs but there was nothing to back it up. I think that was our biggest frustration. Front desk staff wasn't very helpful with booking a la carts or with issues involving our room, they lacked on their customer service skills. Other then that I still feel it was a nice vacation and would recommend the resort with a heads up. I would love to give a 5 out of 5 but due to the few issues we did have, I cant.

Great Vacation!

We arrived early am , we decided our room wasn’t what we wanted so we were able to upgrade later in the morning for a fee. So worth it we had a beautiful room closer to the beach. From that moment on everything went great, the food was delicious at both the buffets and the à la cartes. The drinks were delicious at all the bars and great entertainment. Lots to do without leaving the resort. But most of all the beautiful people of the Dominican made out vacation complete.

Great Vacation !!!!!

Hotel was great, very clean, resort overall is very big, food was very tasty as well, chairs were always an issue, not having enough chairs for everyone, people coming early morning before the sun even comes up to save chairs and sometimes not being in the for must of the day, not fair for other vacationers that spend the same amount of money to be at this resort.

Large resort with great food service.

The resort is a little too big for my liking but it is nice and the ground is beautiful. Our building 35100 is dated and needs to be refreshed. The logistic behind the food service and the food itself were impressive. Congratulation to the kitchen staff. Unfortunately, the weather was not great for us but nobody is to blame for that. I would like to see a bit more entertainment in some areas even if it is just a solo musician or singer. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Great resort

We enjoyed our stay at the resort. It’s beautiful. When we checked in we were told we had a ground floor room. When we got there it was on the 3rd floor. I was to tired and hot to complain. So we stayed. It was not a renovated room and we had a leak from the ceiling in the hall, it got fixed and leaked again the next night. Until all the rooms get renovated I would ask for an upgraded room. Overall, it is a very nice resort.

Honest review

1. Staff was helpful & kind 2. Rooms were spacious 3. Hygiene not to the standard, also be prepared for mosquitoes if you are at 1st floor 4. Food was low quality & not very much variety 5. Lots to do in the resort itself, so would not be bored. 6. If you have low to medium budget then go for it, otherwise go for better

We were unhappy with the room that was offered to us, so we upgraded to a brand new room, WOW it was just beautiful. Food in Buffet was really good, although the line up to get in at times was more than 20 minutes, I understand that was because they are renovating another buffet restaurant, so it was doubled in guests. We had steak, japanese, and greek ala cartes- they were all exceptional!!! I would go back again!
