Disappointing food and frustrating restaurant reservations

We stayed at Ocean Blue & Sand in September 2026. I booked it because I had an excellent stay at Ocean Eden Bay in Jamaica earlier this year, and I expected a similar standard from the same brand. Sadly, the two experiences were night and day. Food: This was the biggest letdown. In both the buffet and the à la carte restaurants, food was often served cold, tasted stale, and was bland. The buffet had very few options, and the same limited selection repeated throughout our stay. I also had an u [... read more]pset stomach for most of the trip. Restaurant reservations: Booking the Japanese restaurant and the steakhouse was a daily struggle. We had to get up at 7 a.m. and try again and again just to get a table, as availability was always very limited. Yet when we finally got in, there were often plenty of empty tables, which made the whole system feel pointless. If food matters to you on an all-inclusive vacation, I'd look elsewhere. If you do book here, be ready to line up for reservations first thing every morning. The pools were nice and often clean; however, the beach was borderline unusable. There was a lot of seaweed, and the water didn't feel clean.

Perfect all around!

I stayed at the Ocean Blue and Sand once before about 8 years ago and my friend who I travelled with has been there 19 times. This is a very clean and friendly place to stay. They have renovated their rooms and are continually working to keep it fresh. The staff are so welcoming and many are still there15 years later. Especially enjoyed Mike’s Cafe where we met Benjamin and Christopher for our evening cappuccino. Relaxing

Very clean resort inside out with exceptional service. Would return again . The sun is king as it was amazing all 7 days. Keep the French Canadian fans away as they can be quit iratainting to say the least.

Amazing Resort

I loved the resort! Felt like I was in Europe. The entertainment and staff 10/10. The rooms cleaned and kept in order daily. The special order of balloons for my friend’s birthday done beautifully and she was totally surprised. Shout out to Javier for his assistance and patience. Disappointed in the cocktail drinks, I’ve had better; there was an after taste in almost every one k tried so I stuck to water/beer or coffee. Loved the spa too! Loved the family oriented environment. The entertainers made my evenings!!! No 24 hour restaurant if you arrive late like I did. Thank you to all the staff.

Ocean Blue and Snd

This resort was excellent. Great food and service. The pools and rooms were clean. The staff were great and the resort was well managed. I just wished the lobby’s and some of the restaurants were more air conditioned, otherwise, everything was great.

Good Value & Nice beach

Nice beach, pools were good, food good. had a good time Of course there are those beach bums that reserve chairs with towels that they don't remove for days on end and then they don't even use them. The hotel should go through and remove them every night.

Great place! Would definitely go again!

We really enjoyed our stay! Friendly service, clean rooms n facilities throughout resort. Had everything we wanted and needed and more. Really great size with lots of room but you don’t get lost and always a trolley if u prefer to get a ride! Highly recommend!

The best all round resort we have been to

For our interests, this has been the best resort we have been to. Excellent beach for walking and swimming. Lots of additional activities both free and paid. Para sailing, banana tube,sea doo tube. Many excursions, water and land. Love the resort layout, and building architecture. Great for kids as well.

Beautiful resort!!!

The resort is beautiful!!! It has 10 3-store buildings. We had a pool view room on the third floor. The room is very comfortable and clean with the balcony. There are 2 nice pools - you have to occupy the lounger there early in the morning. The same on the beach - the beach area is small for this large resort. The longers under umbrella on the beach are limited and are very closed to each other. The ocean is beautiful!!! It was a bit wavy during our stay but it's so beatiful. The food/bars are v [... read more]ery good. There are transfer cars driving you around the resort - very convinient if you are tired and do not want to walk. However, the walking around is also very good - everything is not too far. We liked the coffe shop there - amazing cappuchino. There is flamingo Pinky lives there on the green area -it was amazing to see her every day sleeping or awake. We had to leave at 4 in the morning - a day before that I have asked in the Guest service if they can provide the car to get to the lobby and they did. Overall the service is great!!! Amazing

Our trip to Ocean Blue and Sand was fantastic. Beautiful room in Building 10, gigantic pools, lots of restaurants to choose from, gorgeous beach, incredible staff and lots of options for activities around the resort in addition to entertainment. We splurged and went privilege which I highly recommend doing. The service and extras are fantastic and make your trip all the better. A great family resort with very caring staff.

Excellent Resort

This was an excellent resort and I would book here again. The grounds were really clean and well kept, the rooms were very nice with a large patio and also very clean. The guest staff were exceptional good especially Guillermo at guest services desk. When we first arrived our room only had a king bed a pull out couch and we requested two queen beds so Guillermo was great and switched our room the very next day to the ground floor pool view with two queen beds. Our luggage was moved with no probl [... read more]em by the staff and brought into our new room. The restaurants were superior and the food was excellent. There is only a few things that we would like to see changed is more entertainment with a updated agenda of entertainment events within the week you stay there that is provided to you once you check in and no towel cards were provided upon check in either as we had to ask. Check in time was too late in the day and there were no ashtrays in the room provided as you had to request that. The gift shops were very good but the staff kept changing the prices from what was marked on the shelf to when you got to the till the price increased especially one lady with long black hair it was like she was trying to make a profit off of everything you bought as she increased the price to what was marked. Need new staff in gift shops that don't rip you off and give you the price that is listed on the shelf. Awesome resort!!!

Different vibe - quieter, more relaxing

Resort was nice. Small compared with the big hotels. It looks more like a small village, with all the restaurants side by side, and the little shops, the building for indoor games (bowling, pool table, ping pong, board games etc ...). Beach area is nice too and you can swim without the need of water shoes. Service is very good, whether at the bar or main office. I will go there again. Now, for the not so good part (it's just me being picky). I would pick a different room location. We had a "g [... read more]arden view" and the only garden we got was some bushes, but the worst is it backed onto a service road. Pretty hard if you want a lazy morning in your room. Also, it seemed that our room was due for a pesticide control. We only learned about it when we were all unpacked. Better planning next time? Food is very decent at the buffet, with a large variety. Not very impressed with the specialty restaurants though. I also think think they can do a better job at the buffet to clean and set up the tables. .

Lovely Resort

The resort was wonderful. Very well kept grounds. Rooms were clean. Pool areas were great. Beach was spectacular. Ate at all the à la carte restaurants, fantastic meals and the buffet was also terrific. Entertainment was also very good. I’d definitely go back.

LOVED this resort

My husband and I have never stayed at an Ocean signature resort / H10 hotel line and the Ocean Blue and Sand resort did not disappoint. We were very impressed at the location in Punta Cana. It was a great stay and no real complaints that impacted our stay. Food, service, beach, pools, and our room were all fantastic. We appreciate Margaret's support, from TripCentral, who helped us book this last minute getaway!

Nice resort, beautiful beach

Good resort, the rooms are comfortable updated, the bathrooms are large, double sinks, big shower. The à la carte restaurants are nice, good food no reservations necessary except for the steakhouse and japanese. No limit for the number of time you can use the à la carte. The buffet in the morning was a mess. Difficult to find a set up table, slow service. The selection of food is good. Probably could use more staff for the morning rush. The lunch and dinner seemed to run more smoothly. The groun [... read more]ds are nice but dated. Need more plants and flowers to give it this lush tropical look. Lobby and reception are very nice. Beautiful beach but a bit crowded. Need more umbrellas and shade area. Staff is uneven some are nice and friendly others not so much.

Second round was even better

We went to Ocean Blue and Sun last year with the family in the privilege area and it was really good which is why we came back this year. I don’t know if they forgot about us last year or if they’ve added more options to the privilege club because this year we got a Nescafé coffee maker and a regular coffee maker, a beach bag and a toiletry bag with essentials. The food is always good in all restaurants. Best Mamajuana in the sports bar! The beach is fantastic. Float in the ocean with the gentle waves or walk for an hour in either direction. The sand is perfect. Everything is clean, everywhere. The grounds are maintained immaculately. Super comfy beds and pillows. Like every other resort, they have signs saying no reserving the beach chairs, but everyone does. One morning at 5 AM. We went to check the cabanas and most were all reserved. All the bars were good and the Michael Jackson show was pretty impressive. We really like the piano bar.

GREAT RESORT

ROOMS WERE LARGE BEAUTIFUL BATHROOM GROUNDS WERE LUSH AND WELL KEPT. STAFF WAS AMAZING POOL BAR WAS VERY GOOD AT TAKING CARE OF YOU VERY FRIENDLY.ALWAYS LOTS OF FUN AT THE POOL BAR WITH STAFF ENTERTAINING SINGING AND DANCING. NICE BUFFET RESTARANT DOWN AT THE BEACH BEAUTIFULVIEW OF THE OCEAN. A LA CARTE RESTAURANTS WERE GOOD THE STEAKHOUSE WAS THE BEST AS WELL AS JAPANESE.RESORT WAS NOT NOT OVERLY BUSY WHICH WAS VERY NICE.BE BACK IN 2027

Wonderful resort

Would rate this resort as a true 4 star as does lack in certain areas sometimes food would run out and would not be replenished and a lot of repetition with buffet items but due to the above was still a overall good experience.

Very good resort

Big clean rooms. Not enough lounge chairs and umbrellas. Need more shaded areas by the pool; suggest awnings. We'll kept grounds. Entertainment too late at night for some people. At the beginning the food was too salty but was okay once we pointed it out. Service was very good in the restaurants and bars.
