Great resort

Beautifully beaches, great snorkelling, older hotel but beautiful gardens, long walks, great people and events. Had Canadian night with steak, shrimps dinner. Next day big event with performers in the lobby, music and great dinner, lobsters, Sudhir, etc.

Amazing resort, good location and excellent service at all levels of the vacation from the booking to the end of the vacation.

Hotel should be closed

With a heavy heart I write this review. I am a repeat guest since opening and I will not be returning. I have proper expectations of food but I do not expect to be served spoiled meat on 2 separate occasions. The other protein choices were all fat and we were unable to eat them. There is one working cart so plan on taking all your bags to Your room on your own. The van for Coral guests drives so fast he knocked us off the road twice. All of the beach chairs on Ensenachos beach should be replac [... read more]ed. They are mouldy and broken.The pools used to be very clean, this trip they were moderate at best. The small pool with the hot tub was filthy and was definitely unsafe to swim in. Sadly the only positive is there is way less garbage littered around the beach and walkways. It is a real shame such a stunning property has been allowed to fall into ruins.

Heaven

What can I even say… it’s always amazing to go back to that beautiful beach and the incredible staff who make it feel like home. Every time I leave, a part of me stays there. That beach is unreal, and the people are even more special. It breaks my heart when I see negative comments about Cuba — knowing what those people are going through, they still show nothing but kindness, warmth, and smiles. Nothing is missing. Very poor experience

Arrived Monday November 3 and it took us awhile to figure out this huge resort, it is layed out nicely and the beach is absolutely stunning... That's where the good ends .. When we got into our room we sat on the mattress and could feel the springs which made for terrible and uncomfortable sleep every night...the toilet did not flush properly even after maintenance came to the room and apparently fixed it...that was horrible. The food selection was terrible as only 1 buffet was open and they s [... read more]erved the same food everyday and the food selection was very limited....we payed for 3 a'la carte meals in our package and because everything was closed we did not get that option that we payed for and nothing was ever offered to us to make that right, so kind of feel like we got ripped off that way. Overall it wasn't a great experience but hard to deny that the beach was simply amazing. Not sure if we will return to this resort....A LOT has to change for that to happen. I would say book at your own risk and hope for the best... It's Cuba and nothing is a guarantee

Resort is beautiful and beaches are stunning

I had a good vacation at this resort food was adequate staff were great for service I said good not great because flying with west jet was the biggest mistake of my vacation they charged me$60 for my luggage one way and another $60 on return flight the worst part of it is I only find out when I’m at the airport I never received information about it when I was booking or before my trip and my travel agent never informed me either this is inexcusable from trip central very disappointing I will nev [... read more]er purchase any vacation that flight with west jet in the future I hope this helps someone make better decision wets jet is the only airline charges your one piece luggage

Not what we expected

This resort had great reviews, and we did a deep dive on youtube to see what we could expect. Unfortunately, we did not have a great time for our first stop in Cuba. The pools needed to be cleaned.There was mold everywhere you stood and sat by the bar, the rooms were not sealed at the door so we had multiple salamander on our ceiling. The food was cold and there was no selection whatsoever. Flies were a huge problem, so you didn't want to trust anything that sat out. The staff were hit and miss [... read more]. Some were very pleasant to deal with and helpful, whereas others were rude, dismissive and ignorant. There was only one golf cart to tend to the entire resort, and when you have rainy days and people having to walk to the one place to eat at the buffet, you'd be standing there, waiting for a very long time in the rain to get anywhere. The beaches were beautiful, however, it would have been nice if they raked the seaweed. It wasn't an enjoyable trip.

So upset

This was the worse resort ever. We lost our air conditioner 3 times in one night. This trip was my daughter's honeymoon and there was nothing recognized for that after they said they would make it special for her and her new husband. The room was not set up with a crib and small bed for there other child of 4 years old. We were not told that the dining hall was changed to the other end of the resort and they moved dinner and lunch like 4 times on us without telling us and then making us have our [... read more] meals outside where the bugs and mosquitoes were biting This was not a pleasurable experience with 2 small children and so late at night My daughter and family and I were also supposed to be close together and the first night we were at different buildings We were very disappointed at how they run things and will never come back and never recommend to anyone

Amazing resort! Great value for the money!

The beaches are absolutely AMAZING! The resort is not new but has a certain colonial charm to it and given the circumstances the staff is doing their best to keep it in good shape. People are very friendly and willing to help. We had a very pleasant experience. There is a large variety of good foods. And drinks as much as one might dream of. And there is ice available all over the place. If you're looking for a top notch 5+ stars experience you should find another resort (and possibly pay doub [... read more]le or more), as this might not be for you. But if you're not too picky and looking for a really nice quiet place to relax and have a great vacation with stunning beaches and great people around you, this is a great resort to go to.

Beautiful place and service

We stayed at Coral ensenacho adult only. Ground was beautiful with so many white butterflies everywhere, felt like we are in heaven. Villa was huge!! Bigger than my house in Toronto!! Jacuzzi in terrace with table set and loungers. 3 bathroom, 2 walk-in closet, kitchen, and 2 beautiful huge bedrooms. Food was good, enough variety, lots of drinks. Only little problem was no wifi connection inside our room. And 24 hours snack bar was very far, we have to wait for the Cart Because this resort was so big, we need more time to find all the facilities.

Amazing resort

Resort was amazing . Great time to go when it’s off season.Pool was empty and the beach was as well.200 at the resort and the resort is huge. Would definitely be booking again . Service needed attention and buffet was full of flies.But they were doing their best

Great family getaway

We just returned from a week away to Iberostar Ensenachos where we had a great stay. The beach and water are amazing. The grounds are well maintained, the entertainment and animation team, the people we met at the reception, bar/buffet are all trying to please and engage with the clients. Yes, there are renovations and some time it seems there is a long walk to get to the lobby/buffet place, but we did not let this disturb our trip. Great beach - Dated Resort

The resort is huge to begin with and has two beaches - Megano and Ensenachos; both which were some of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen. We regularly saw thousands of fish, stingrays and even starfish - just beautiful. The beaches were very quiet and felt like we had lots of privacy and spaces from others - perfect for relaxing. First of all, we saw two small cockroaches in the room and lots of small ants near the toilet. Secondly. The toilet did not work. We regularly had to play around with the pipe to get it to flush and this was quite troubling since we got food posinoning. Besides that the room had a great balcony with lots of room to unwind and relax. For the food; the three “a la carte” restaurants were closed for renovations so we had to choose between the snack bar and main buffet. The main buffet regularly had lots to choose from with different options each day - it was indoors and felt very clean. The snack bar….. not so much. The night we got there we saw a giant cockroach hanging around the kitchen and the staff didn’t do anything. There were regularly birds flying in or around the food and thousands of flies. So would recommend the main buffet over the snack bar. As for the service - all of the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. I had amazing experiences with all of the staff around the resort and the night time shows were extremely entertaining. Nonetheless, we had a great trip here to Cayo Ensenachos and will never forget how beautiful the beaches here are.

We stayed at the is resort at the beginning of May 2025, the resort is beautiful but a little dated. Everything is clean and well maintained. All the employees work very try hard. Cuba as a country is in crisis and everyone is doing their best with what they have. When you arrive you will likely experience culture shock to some extent. Beach, ocean: The beach is beautiful, stunning, breathtaking. The white sand is soft, water sparkles in different shades of blue. Lots of fish and ocean [... read more] life accessible right from the beach, various sizes of alive conch. There is a shipwreck you can walk to. Lots of fish and coral by the rocks at Ensenachos beach. Take the catamaran from the small resort marina out into the reef for an hour of snorkeling, lots of live coral, starfish, sea urchins, colourful fish, turtles. The marina staff is super nice as well. Rooms, facilities: Everything is clean but dated, ac is in each room but might not be strong enough depending on individual preferences. Linen and towels were clean. Bathroom has a tub and shower. Expect some critters in your room (we had a gecko). Each room has a balcony. Daily cleaning service is very very good. Our bungalow was in the perfect location with a short walk to the beach, pool and kids water park, snack bar and swim up bar. Some shuttle service is available between the lobby, marina and big restaurant but we mostly walked. The grounds are beautiful and very well maintained. The pool is clean. The kids water park is small and not all features are working but my kids had a great time. The kids club has limited hours and offers some activities and programs (I.e. mini chefs, yoga on the beach). There is a playground as well. There is lots of wildlife to see around the resort. Lizards, geckos, birds, crabs, hermit crabs, cats and kittens. Food: There is plenty of food available but most of the food is Cuban. We were very cautious with what we ate (hot food (rice, beans, some meats, some veggies), food fresh off the grill (omelette, chicken, fish, Cuban style pizza), freshly cut fruit (the mangoes are delicious) and pastries (muffins, cookies, small croissants)). Salt is available but you may want to bring ketchup and jam etc. We had some minor stomach troubles and most of the other travellers we spoke to had some sort of stomach troubles during their stay. Definitely bring gravol and pack lots of snacks if you are travelling with kids. You are not going to Cuba for the food. There is a 24 hr snack bar that also serves breakfast and lunch buffet style and is used as one of the restaurants for dinner. Lunch is served at the beach bar and was always fresh and hot. The large restaurant offers buffet for breakfast (lots of options), lunch and dinner. We did not eat at any of the restaurants, only buffet. There are flies at the buffet / restaurant. Also sometimes there are small biting insects in the evenings (bring big spray and afterbite). Drinks / water: You get 2 purified water bottles to your room each day (reusable glass bottles). This water felt safe to drink. Cold and hot drinks are available throughout the day, we were a little cautious of ice cubes. My kids loved the frozen lemonade. Welcome drinks are available at the evening buffet. Try to stay hydrated as much as you can. Cuban and British alcohol is available, I do not drink so don’t know the quality of the alcoholic drinks. Entertainment: The Michael Jackson show is a highlight, don't miss it. Theresa white party by the pool was the next most popular. Each night has an interactive kids show, the performers do their best to include everyone. Shows in the theatre feature different themes daily and performers are excellent and work very hard. Various entertainment throughout the day at the beach, the pool and the lobby. Things to keep in mind: Cubans are struggling, they have very little and live in conditions we cannot imagine. Anything you can bring for them (clothing, medical supplies etc.) is much appreciated. Tip if you can (USD or Canadian bills are preferred). Cubans make a basic salary, the tips really help them. Cubans work 6 out of 7 days and we saw many employees start work at 10am and work past midnight. Many depend on public transit and it takes them between 1 and 1.5 hours each way to get to and from work. Almost everyone speaks some English but it is nice to know some basics in Spanish. You can also download an offline translation app. We really enjoyed our stay ?☀️

True paradise

Amazing resort with so much elegance and class. It is an older resort but very charming. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by very professional and friendly Sesia , front desk conciege. We were upgraded to ocean view room, which was amazing. Room are very spacious and bright, cleaned daily . Everything worked in our room. We had hot water and electricity without any interruption. People in the buffet were exceptional and friendly. Everyone was wonderful, but exceptional were Jaima, Mayra and Jamile , cleaning Lady in the buffet . Workers on the beach were also wonderful. Every worker was exceptional and worked so hard to make our stay pleasant. We had an abundance of delicious food..everything was fresh and tasty.. there was a lot of see food, I personally don't eat see food, but saw many people enjoying it. Entertainment personal worked very hard daily . It was a pleasure to meet Osmani. Beaches are absolutely mesmerizing..True paradise..no seaweeds, just crystal clear water . You simply enjoy and relax. Absolutely amazing place. Would highly recommend it and definitely will be back

Third time to Ensenachos.

Return visit. amazing beaches and a good area for snorkeling off the beach. Room was great and clean. Buffet under renovations so food selection not as good as before but sure it will be better when work is done . A la cartes were good except only one selection at all of them for dessert and that was flan. not my favourite.. Nice to see the Canadian flag displayed around the resort and the best part is the wonderful Cuban people!!

Very Relaxing, it did the job!

We just returned from Iberostar selection Encenachos. It was our third time there, the last was two years ago. This time it was just my husband and I. As always the beaches are stunning! Never disappoints and it is what draws us back. The last time we were here there were some days without eggs, bread, potatoes, beer etc...this time it was fine. Fries,pork,chicken….We even really enjoyed the white mild fish for lunch at the Megano beach. I’m not a fish eater but it was delicious. The rooms are adequate but it will be nice when the Reno’s are done on them too. We will definitely return!

Amazing beaches

Hotel was very good Nice clean room. Just ask for more towels or pillows they are very accommodating. Room close to everything Beaches were so amazing and free water catamaran,paddle boats, canoe. Food could be a little better as varieties were limited but had fresh fish everyday for fish lovers. Would go back for the price

Beautiful Beaches

We stayed Feb 4-11, 2025. My favorite part was the sun & beaches. Ensenachos beach is very nice but Megano beach was my favorite, lots of variety of seashells, conch shells, starfish, also good for snorkeling. The rooms are dated but clean & the staff are fantastic, always willing to please you. The food at the snack bar & specialty restaurant was good & hot, but even though the buffet had a bigger variety of food, most of it was cold to lukewarm, but they had a microwave to heat it up. I can't  [... read more]remember her name but the waitress that we had every morning & at lunch at the Marino snack bar was so amazing, she definitely deserves a raise. The pools were also very nice & clean. Also most of the rooms electrical outlets were only 220v so you need an adapter.

Showing its age

The beach and weather was beautiful. The resort was nice but is outdated. Food was awful, bed had springs popping up. The view from our room wasn’t great, had a garbage can outside. Too much walking..
