A great vacation! Resort was fantastic!

We were treated well by the staff and some were over the top in caring about service and happy guests. Having wonderful weather provides a great background for an ideal get away however where you stay matters too. The rooms were nice and beds comfortable. All was provided as presented. Amenities good. Getting bottled water was easy once you knew where to ask - only cups of water at pool bar but lobby bar and coffee shot had bottled water as well. We did find various chairs including some behind a desk to move out together and more were brought when we asked. No one seemed to mind when we had a little lobby party!

Awesome time

We had a great time at the Krystal Grand. The week went by way too fast. Everything was excellent from the time we arrived till the time we left. Room, swim up, beach, pools were all great. We would definitely go back.

Great Resort

Our stay at Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta was absolutely incredible from start to finish. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and every public area was clean and welcoming. The rooms were fantastic—comfortable, modern, and a perfect place to relax after a day in the sun. Dining had a great variety and The Grill a la carte restaurant was delicious! One of my favorite spots was the rooftop Sky Bar—amazing views of the sunset, a great atmosphere, and the perfect place to unwind. You can walk for miles along the shoreline, which made it even more special. I would highly recommend this resort and would happily return!

Not up to it’s ratings

The ground were ok, the pools were very nice but the laminate flooring around the pool area was VERY unsafe. MANY people had bad slips and falls when it was wet and wet feet. Our room was ok, but the safe didn’t work, until it was fixed, the tv remote didn’t work, until we got another one and no hair blow dryer until we asked for one. The in room coffee maker put the coffee everywhere except IN the coffee pot, we had to get that replaced also. The wifi is VERY hit and miss everywhere on the reso [... read more]rt. The online booking for the ala carte restaurants was useless. 2 of the 3 restaurants were closed for half of our 2 week stay. The buffet was your usual, some days ok, other days not so much.

Amazing resort

Very clean good food. And very good staff. Disappointed in snack bar. But a great place to stay would go back. Loved the smoking area they provided very clean. Comphy loungers. The beach and water. Where fun also.

A great resort

This was our second time here and we had a great time. We love this resort. The staff is really friendly, we had no issues booking any of the à la carts. The food was great lots to choose from on the buffet and the drinks were really good. We did manage to get lounge chairs at the adult pool and we did have to go out early to get them but after a couple of days, there was lots of chairs still available at 8 AM. Our room was cleaned every day and replenished with towels and if we needed more towe [... read more]ls, we just asked and they were given. It’s a great location if you want to walk to Bucerias. We plan to go back next year.

Great vacation

The hotel (Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta) was very nice and the grounds are lovely. The staff are very helpful and approachable however it seems they are understaffed. This was most apparent at meal times in the general buffet. Booking the 'special' restaurants proved beyond hard and ridiculous which gave rise to more diners in the general buffet. Often other areas had to be opened up to accommodate the long queues.

Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta

We went to Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta in February 2026. When we got there we were giving a very small room with no balcony in the old part of the resort. The room was very small & dark. The next day the toilet would not flush, the sink would not drain. Then the light in the bathroom was not working. We went to reception & they said they would fix things. The next day we were still having issues & we talked to the manager & he gave us a different room in the main building. This room was much l [... read more]arger & had a balcony. It was much better. The adult pool was amazing. They even had a foam party in the pool. The beach was nice but the ocean was very rough. It was difficult to go swimming. The food was great but we had to book the A La Carte every morning at 7:00 for each day. The app would not work to alow us to do the bookings on it. We had a great vacation.

Drip from ceiling in buffet which became an all-out water leak and partial closure. Plumbing fixtures in our room were old and rusting. Our room required a thorough cleaning. Dirty light switches, floor, sticky surfaces, dirty handles, balcony door, etc. Food was underwhelming at best. Buffet did not have avacado or guacamole, poor selection, and no change in i [... read more]tems or theme for entire stay. Three a-la-carte restaurants were also mediocre. Pools were nice and bed was comfortable. Entertainment was family friendly.

Beautiful beach

We loved the resort for the location and the amazing food We had issues with our room but were moved 2nd day I would not recommend this resort if looking for fun or activities or music There no seating or music in front lobby bar No entertainment or music in evenings Families would enjoy for large pool

Not so good

Flys in bathroom they never dealt with , safe would not work -door lock broke - had to ask for towels and face cloths for the room .getting a lounger around the pool was impossible as people were reserving them the night before . Food was ok pretty mundane tho - couldn't get an ala carte as people were reserving them at 4am - drinks were watered down the kaluha tasted like watered down vanilla- rooms are very dated need renovation for sure

Holiday at Krystal Grand PV , Jan 18-25

The pools were great. Lots of room, Adult pool was always free of kids. Family pool was large and well used. They had some water aerobics which were fun and the instructors were great. The sand was probably one of the best beaches we have been to. There was always a shortage of lounge chairs and you had to get up early (5:30) to save yourself a spot. At the same time the family pool was playing very loud music also. There was no place to go to escape the noise. The meals were great, the buffet had a great variety and while the layout was odd (2 regions with different foods on each) things worked, except for those people that refused to go clockwise or For those that cut in line. Richard called one guy out, “you must be American, because a Canadian wouldn’t do that.” The fancy restaurants were great but we couldn’t access the ‘app’ to reserve them, only Richard could because he had a black wrist band and just went to a special concierge to book them. Without Richard we would not have been able to eat in them. The coffee bar was fantastic and the baristas were very skilled and pleasant. The staff were very professional and friendly. Our room was okay. But we booked a kingsize bed and got 2 doubles instead. We made it work.The shampoo, body wash and body lotion were very cheap and produced no lather. The body lotion smelled like sour milk. Also, we requested a “garden view” but got a tree view. Initially we thought it was a good location, 4225, just down from the lobby, but we found out that on several evenings there was “entertainment’ right out front of our room. Bad karyoke very loud, is not good. Also there was an elevator right beside our room and this would not have been a problem except there was a roof top bar and all night drunks were going up and down and had to party loudly at our door every 10 minutes.There really was no evening entertainment, The internet was very poor. Kept kicking us out. No place in the evening to just sit and have a drink and visit, The lobby bar had about 8 chairs used for the Sunwing staff to book excursions, but in the evening some pulled them together, the rooftop bar had fewer, but had 2 kingsize beds??. A second floor bar had a pool table and about 10 chairs. Remember this place has hundreds of guests. Overall, I would say it was an okay experience but I don’t think I would recommend it to anyone over 30 and unlikely we will be going back.

Stay At Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta

Stayed at the Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta from January 9th-16th in an Altitude Club Oceanview Double room. The hotel itself is nice and the grounds are well maintained and easy to navigate. There are multiple pools including an adults only pool. Long stretch of walkable beach in both directions. Only a few KM right into the town of Bucerias. Pros: - Most food and drinks were well prepared and tasty. - Room had an amazing view of the bay. - Concierge in the Altitude Club were very hel [... read more]pful. - Most resort staff greeted you with a smile. - Walking distance by path or beach to Bucerias. - Free room service with Altitude Club. Cons: - Almost impossible to get a lounger by the beach or pools. Towel game is in full effect at this resort with people reserving chairs as early as 4am. - Mexican a la carte has extremely slow service when we tried to eat there. Ended up leaving without eating there as the food never arrived. - Buffet, while the food was good, was repetitive and small and had limited options for the amount of guests at the resort. - Fixtures in room were worn/dated or broken. Handle for the diverter in the shower was missing. Balcony doors did not lock. - No designated area for Altitude Club guests by the pool or beach like in most resorts. Regardless of the cons we had a pleasant stay and were able to make the most of it. It's definitely a good pick if you like to venture off resort and explore the towns.

Good New Year’s

The food at the resort is good and the daytime entertainment was fun! Bartenders were awesome at the adult swim up pool, where I spent most of my time. There are only two nighttime bars that close at 1am- the sports bar didn’t have much for sports and we couldn’t get the fire sticks to work. The rooftop bar was pretty cool. Not much for nighttime entertainment so we went into bucerias for bars and music. Good luck finding a chair on the beach or at the pool. The location on the beach was excellent- walking distance to bucerias and it was safe!

Average resort / don't get too excited

The hotel is a bit dated but the rooms size was very nice with an extra dining area and pull out couch. The beds are very hard and need to be updated to softer mattresses. The grounds are well kept and the service was very good all around from the buffet to the al a cartes. The pools were very nice and can get busy with the swim up bar if you are looking for a quick drink. They have very little to offer for entertainment, no big shows, and the sports bar was just the average size for a few couple to watch anything they had on tv. Nowhere really to go and relax and chat after a dinner. the lobby could use a few more lounge chairs as there was next to nothing for seating if you wanted to sit and have a drink by the lobby bar. Trying to get pesos exchanged for smaller denominations was a challenge as they were very limited with small bills. Only a 30 min walk on beach or the pathway across the street to get to Bucerias. Overall i would not give this hotel a 4 or 5 star rating as stated. more like a 3 for what they offer. would only go back if the price was right.

Rooms were awful. Food at the buffet was always cold Coffee bistro was good Pool was filthy and didn't have enough lounge chairs Adult pool was to far away from rooms Check in took forever and no advise on amenities

Enjoyed our stay

Staff were so friendly and accommodating and resort was very clean. We had a blast! The food wasn’t great but we did enjoy our meals at The Grill. We wished they had more activities/events going on like other resorts offer. We also would’ve preferred having more for the kids to do but they still enjoyed it.

Location, location, location

The exterior of the hotel was exceptional, right from the lobby, pools, snack, shacks, and adults only swimming pool. Upon arrival, there is a breathtaking view from the balcony that allows you to see the ocean. I was most impressed with the bistro that served a variety of specialty coffees and sandwiches. One of the snack shacks offered a more western cuisine, such as french fries and hotdog. While the other one offered a Mexican flair which included fish tacos, and nachos. I really enjoy the daily activities that were offered which included yoga/stretch, stretching, a guided beach, walk, aqua size, and guided bike tours. Uncertain occasions, there were activities to keep you entertained such as Bingo, Easter shows, fire dance shows, and circus entertainment. Depending on which type of rooms you got, it could be absolutely fabulous or one that you would consider changing. I did not realize it, but the room I had was not in the best shape. It was dated and needed a lot of upkeep. The shower was turned in a way that left pools of water in the bathroom, so kept the room fairly damp and humid. The air-conditioning worked great and it was quite comfortable. The Wi-Fi worked very well in around the area and especially great near the lobby. The à la carte restaurants did a fabulous job at providing food that was different from the buffet.
