Amazing Resort

We stayed at Bahia Principe Grand Jamaica from October 8-15th traveling with Air Canada. We had a great experience overall. The resort is beautiful, well-maintained, and has a lot to offer, especially for families. There are two sides to the resort — the Luxury side, which is adults-only, and the Grand side, which is more family-friendly. We stayed on the Grand side with our kids and really enjoyed it. The grounds are large and very well-kept, so I'm glad we requested rooms closer to the pool [... read more] and buffet, which made things much easier. The staff and service were outstanding. Every worker we interacted with was kind, helpful, and genuinely welcoming — they really made our stay even more enjoyable. The food was a standout — by far the best meals we’ve had in any Island we went too. Everything was full of flavor (not spicy tho) and there are plenty of options with buffets and à la carte restaurants. Daily daytime and evening entertainment added a nice touch to our stay. The beach is on the smaller side and gets deep quickly, so we didn’t spend as much time there, but our kids absolutely loved the pool — that’s where they spent most of their time! There’s a small shopping village attached to the resort, which is perfect for grabbing souvenirs, toiletries, or snacks. We found some delicious beef patties there! Just a tip: the stores in the lobby are more expensive than the ones in the village, so it’s worth walking over. The rooms themselves could use some TLC, but we found out the resort will be closing for a full year starting this December for major renovations. It was recently purchased by Hyatt, and with that, many of the Spanish staff will be heading back to their home country

Worst Jamacia experience!

I feel like this resort caters to Caucasian people in terms of food and hospitality. For me I’m expecting a true Jamaican experience and this was not it. The hotel is advised as a family friendly hotel and it’s the total opposite. We were a big family and had to make reservations to the restaurants at 9pm as that was all that was available. Imagine being in the sun with kids all day and then have to wait till 9 to get decent food, or less you’re going to the buffet and it’s yucky! Reception shou [... read more]ld tell you to leave tips for the bar on the dresser and tips for the cleaners under the pillow. The bar workers were stealing the hard earnings if the cleaners! The worst part of the trip was going to the bar and being treated like a dog by not so good looking older bar tenders who were miserable. I would never go to this hotel again.

Bahia Principa Grand Jamaica My Husband and eight others just vacation there for two weeks Our first couple of days were so so But by the third day things started to change in the right direction The Hitel is sliding in Dec gir about a year but when the renovation are complete the Bahia will be even better!!

Good

Resort is shutting down in the new year for upgrade.great staff at bars and dinning areas not the nicest beaches ,pools are nice and large. Locals came in on weekends and created lineups and were rude by skipping lines.

Wonderful Week

Hotel was good. But massive! Alot of walking. If you want beach access...you wont have here. The Beach is opposite side of luxury...and can take trolly to. Buffet food was cold. Lots of options but not warm. Staff amazing!..Room was great. Safe did not work. And heard from others we met had same issue. All pools were open. It was a great week away, but I can say I will not return to this resort.

It was okay the service at the lobby was excellent Mr. Henry took very good care of us, he make sure that everything was okay, he is a wonderful man great at his job, and the other works were okay.The service overall was okay ?

Absolutely worst experience by far!

Upon arrival, despite our requests and confirmation from the resort that we not be placed in blocks 14 to 18, we were assigned rooms in block 17. After much debate, we were relocated to block 11. However, one room was not ready, and when we finally received it around 7 PM, the bed was unmade. Neither room had bath towels. We requested a rollaway bed for the room with a king-size bed, which arrived at 2 AM—waking us up, which was absolutely unacceptable. On Day 2, we still had no bath towels,  [... read more]face cloths, or toiletries. Our fridges were not restocked — no water, soda, or beer. We only received a few towels late in the evening after demanding to speak with a manager. Pool towels are also consistently unavailable. The buffet is frequently out of food and plates. We received raw chicken from the jerk centre and our last a la carte dinner was ruined by the ignorance of our waiter. Our birthday banner request was ignored, and no extras were provided. The customer service has been extremely poor. Given we paid over $9,000 for this vacation, we are extremely dissatisfied, we will not return to this resort and are deeply disappointed by the disregard shown by staff and management!

Good resort

Just got back from Bahia Principe Grand Jamaica. Clean resort, Staff were nice, we booked 4 rooms - out of the 4 rooms 2 rooms were great for AC but the other 2 rooms AC was not working well. Very hot weather out so when you come back from the beach/pool you want the AC working in your room. Thank goodness i brought a little fan to help me sleep at night. Hotel needs renos big time. Excellent Resort

We stayed at this resort in July 2025. The family thoroughly enjoyed because we had appropriate expectations. This is our 5th trip to a bahia resort. Staff: very friendly, always had a smile and greeted throughout the resort. Check in: slow process but be patient. Tried to use their app to check in but would not load. We were given newly renovated rooms in building 17 and 18. Rooms: clean, stocked. Bring your soap for hand. They only provide shampoo and conditioner in showers. Towels beca [... read more]me an issue by day 3. We did not get any clean towels delivered despite calling reception 4x. Used pool towels. Our fridge was not working. It was replaced by day 3 after many calls and visiting front desk. Beach: very rocky by the resort. You have to walk to the left of the resort pass the kids area and the beach, sand is pristine there. Never an issue getting a chair. Food: Amazing for a resort. Always can find something to eat. Pisces restaurant by the beach was amazing if you don't want to get back to main buffet. Others enjoyed the jerk hut although twice we tried but chicken a bit undercooked for us. The main buffet was our favorite spot. Many options for all. Pizza and freshly made pasta amazing. Some curries like goat or stews were a bit too salty at times and unfortunately lead to much food waste from what I have noticed. Drinks were amazing overall. We tried most drinks from the menu. Favorites were Bob Marley, margaritas, mohitos, mai tai, drink of the day, rum cream. You can pay for premium alcohol if you choose. Entertainment: could use some more night shows but kids enjoyed the magic show, circus, fire dragon. A fantastic vacation overall and we would definitely return after their renovations.

OK resort but not 5*

Was excited to go to a 5 star resort but really disappointed. We pre checked in with Bahi App. Upon arrival requested an area (sections 15-18) in the resort. The reception said ok, but we got the complete opposite end (section 23...dont accept a room here). Close to the Adults Only Luxury Resort. We had 4 children in our group! This was fine at first but one room had a bad leak from the ceiling in front of the bathroom, so that room got moved after waiting the day for someone to fix it and  [... read more]then no one coming and we had to fight with hotel management. Finally at 1 AM...they got moved to other end of hotel (section 18). Our other two rooms were infested with cockroaches and the toilets didn't flush unless you put your hand in the tank. As we booked together and wanted to be close we asked for all rooms to be moved to section 18. Well we showed pictures of the uninvited daily guests and were told we would be moved....got the push around for 3 days. Finally we found the air canada rep (she was MIA for 2 days) who pushed things and got us moved on the 4th day. If you book you must ensure you are in section 18 as these rooms were much more updated and 4 start quality (we still saw 2 cockroaches but it was not a daily issue). The other rooms (section 23) were more like 3 star. Food in the buffet was OK, the restaurants were much better. We are beach users so that was a little disappointing rocks and coral near shore but mostly sand when you get knee deep. Roped off areas due to sea urchins so cant go deep. Doesn't compare at all to any Cuba beaches (we have been to 5 different Cuba resorts). We had a good group of people so had fun even with all the issues. We were told that the resort is being renovated in 2026. Much needed.

Beautiful pools

Grounds and pools were great. Pools were the best I have seen at any resort. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful. There were a few who were not helpful. Found the bus drive to the hotel very long. Found the check in process very slow. Our best meal was at the Italian restaurant. The food was amazing. ! We had a great waiter take care of us. Very enjoyable evening.

Good

The pool was amazing and the staff all friendly and outgoing, had a great time by the pool with all the daily activities and entertainment. Beach was small but was ok for a beach day. Rooms are outdated and had a few issues; no linen in the room and had to wait several hours for it to be brought to us, coffee maker broken, and the shower head was broken. All problems were addressed and fixed. Had a hard time booking reservations for dinners, restaurants seemed to all be booked for earlier times  [... read more]and we were travelling with two young kids, so going to dinner at 9 was not suitable for us. Managed to get on to one and it was fabulous food and service. Overall we had a great time!

Horrible start

I was not happy with how things started. We got to our room and there were no towels and the bed sheets and pillow cases were dirty, not to mention there was open drinks in the mini bar. So disappointing

Bahia principe

It is a big resort. too big for my liking. Service was so so. Room was not clean. No water for 2 days. Shower was broken and the list goes on Reception was slow to attend to needs but it is understanble due to the amount of guest they have to attend to.

Nice resort

Beautiful resort but shouldn’t be considered a 5star the hotels need to be repaired cracked walls, leaking showers and some unfriendly staff should make this resort a 4star. With minor improvements and upgrades they can be back to a 5star standard.

Very nice resort

The first impression of this hotel was “beautiful”. Welcoming cucumber water, lemon water, cookies and apples were set out at the front area and immediately made use of by my tired and thirsty family. It was mostly amazing there. The pool, the buffet restaurants and some of the staff were just wonderful. Some not so good experiences there, were the overly expensive souvenirs shops, and misleading sunset cruise operators. However, overall we enjoyed our stay there.

Enjoyed my stay

We loved the resort, the rooms were beautiful an spacious. The pool were beautiful and kid friendly. The Littles had fun in the Waterpark. Wifi was not the greatest around the resort and lost connection throught the entire resort the day we were leaving and check out was at 12pm and the connection was lost at 7am. Most of the staff was very nice and friendly. Food was delicious for the first couple of days and then the options became limited. The night shows were also desecent but then other nig [... read more]hts you would have to pay $15USD for something that should be included especially for the price that you're paying everything (entertainment) should be included. There is no Disco closed all adult tome is spent in the sports bar... not much to do if your looking to dance and have fun while in the resort. The location of the resort was 1hr and 15 minutes away from the airport.

Amazing resort love it.

Grounds was kept the staff were efficient in everything friendly overall l have no complaints beach food was good entertainment. I would surely recommend it to everyone who is looking for a place to go on vacation.

No not really

The flight was delayed, reached the resort around 10pm , all restaurants were closed, the jerk hut was open at 11pm so we got that . That was the worse jerk I ever had , Our room was old and dated the phone never worked, some of the lights were not working, the fixtures were falling off the walls , the Thermostat did not work, the couch was all dirty and stains all over it , we stayed for 7 days and they never changed the sheets (the place need urgent repairs.

Great for Kids!!

This is a great Hotel for families with kids..(the kid side of it). I found that everything from the food to the service was great. Well kept grounds and hard working members of the team. I do recommend an additional bar on the beach for the adults and more beach chairs. I think within a few years (after upgrades and reno work), this resort will definitely be the hottest spot in the area.
