Fabulous Resort

The views from the hotel was amazing. Lots of activities to do like evening jazz in the lobby with popcorn, dancing on the beach or even pool relay during the day. Fun for everyone!!! Every staff was friendly and ready to help you. Can't wait to go back

Very good resort

This resort is good value for the money. It's a bit of a smaller resort, only one pool and the walkable beach front is limited, maybe .5 km. The beach itself is clean and well maintained. Like most Caribbean destinations there are issues with seaweed but the Iberostar staff were on it daily. Our swimming area was mostly free of seaweed. We spent all our time at the beach but the pool area was well used and is nice with swim up bar. Staff are terrific and the food was above average at this p [... read more]rice point. Mixed review

Just returned from 7 night stay at Iberostar waves beach resort. 2 grandparents, adult daughter and grand child. Greeted by concierge asked to return later to hear about resort and wait for room at 3. Concierge started calling wanting us to attend selection suites next door for breakfast and to see what they have to offer. Room was nice. Elevators not always working and we had to walk up and down stairs way too many times. Stairwells very dark. When it rained the halls and stairwell were all  [... read more]wet. Our room was very clean, beautiful view and balcony. One bed was in deplorable condition. There were no mid support feet on both sides. The mattress felt like broken springs. Felt like I was falling out. Like a hammock. I reported 4 times to concierge and each time she would say she reported it and it would be looked after. I got the feeling they were well aware of it. Room 1136. We suffered with the bed for the entire stay. My spouse has 2 herniated disc's and bone cancer. I tried sleeping in the other bed with daughter and grandchild 3 nights. This was a very big turn off regarding this resort. The entertainment staff were great. The buffet was great and so was the staff. Italian restaurant wasn't worth visiting. Same food in buffet. The weather was not in our control and was very terrible so we didn't actually get to enjoy the resort as we should have, especially the beach. This was a cold front and we had high winds and cold weather with a lot of sea weed. We didn't appreciate the breakfast next door. It was a big sales pitch to buy into their Star membership program. They were herding people from room to room and desk to desk. That was a turn off. We did have a pretty good time considering all factors, but I doubt we would return again.

Grat time at Iberostar

This is my third time at this resort. It was a good experience, food was good as always , great selection. Beach is great, for swiming and enjoying water.Some changes I noticed since my last visit pre-pandemic : no tablecloths in buffet dining room , no straws in resort , not even paper ones, not great service at restaurants.

Sunshine

Wonderful! Great Vibes! Excellent tribute to Michael Jackson Show will blow you away. Lovely Hotel, comfy beds, delicious Food, lively music, great beach with mini coral Reefs for Snorkelling. Heavenly sunsets, very relaxing and something for everyone.

Beautiful walkable sandy beach!

Arriving at night the trip from the airport was just 20 Km away. Check in was quick and easy. The resort was smaller and more intimate than what we generally go to. We had an ocean view room and was adequate and met all our needs. Room bar fridge and coffee area was always well stocked. With it being a smaller resort there were only 3 a-la-cartes and 1 main buffet, which made it a rather small selection over a period of 10 days. Very nice safe beach to swim at, with a lot of palapas/loungers wit [... read more]h shaded areas. The beach is rather short, should you care walk long distances. Upon check in we were informed of designated smoking areas, unfortunately some guests would smoke anywhere, hence the resort should post no smoking signs around the pool area. Overall the resort personnel were friendly and accommodating. Our concierge Jovayne went above and beyond to ensure we enjoyed our stay. We took an excursion to Dunn River Falls and enjoyed it immensely. The 1 hour bus ride gave us the opportunity to see the country side.

Great resort

Very nice. Grounds are beautiful. Staff are very friendly. Front desk staff very helpful I enjoyed the ocean view room. Lots of activities for all ages. That is enough characters entered. I have no more to say

Not a 5*

There are 3 resorts side-by-side, each more luxurious, the Beaches being the least expensive. We arrived on a Sunday evening to a lobby that displayed yesteryear luxury. A porter took us to our room, dropped off our bags, got a tip and took off with no information or direction about the room or hallway which we found to be like a maze. There is a large pool with a swim-up bar with several lounge chairs to slow roast in the sun. The sandy beach has a large number of lounge chairs and lots of shade if desired. There is 1 bar and a jerk chicken shack with service provided. The resorts share a well stocked work-out centre and nearby, tennis courts and 8 very nice pickleball courts (though the provided paddles are poor quality). There was no promotion so you are on your own to find playing partners. What little I saw of the entertainment was very good. MOST of the service staff are very good and friendly, happy to please. Overall, the place was kept very clean. The food (yes I am critical, I expect good tasteful food): Breakfast offers many different foods, something for everyone. The fruit bar was not great…frozen fruits, tasteless watermelon and pineapple. There was good kiwi, apples and bananas. There was a good juice selection but getting a glass was sometimes a challenge. Lunch and dinner at the banquet hall offered a good variety. However, the taste was hit and miss. Most were very good, others not so much.. I found the roast port overdone and dry and some fish the same. They had mayo as a tartar sauce!!! So simple to make a tartar sauce. The dessert section was interesting. They listed black forest cake…it was chocolate cake, brownies…it was chocolate cake, chocolate cake…yep, chocolate cake. Some desserts were tasteless, a select few worth eating. However, the salad bar was excellent. Lettuce was fresh & crisp, the variety was terrific. The self-serve juice dispenser sprayed juice all over instead of the glass. Not sure if it was ever fixed. The Japanese restaurant did not serve real Japanese food but the ambiance felt Japanese. The food was fairly good. The Italian restaurant was a disappointment. The salmon was good. I had a penne dish with shrimp. The sauce was like a paste and the shrimp still had the tails on!! Second time, I had chicken with spaghetti. The chicken was fine but the pasta was sticky and the sauce tasted like tomato paste with no spice. The smokehouse served huge meals and the food was very good. The hotel expects everyone to be tech savvy with a smartphone to use their QR code. It is not seniors friendly and they do not use printed material. We asked for a map, one we could download on our computer….no. What nobody noticed was a map of the resort at the end of the service counter! Reading a map on a 5” screen is not going to work for most seniors.Navigating the maze (hallways) is an adventure until you travel the hallways a few (or several) times. The room we had (and others said the same) a bathroom that smelled of sewage. I put my hand on the handrail in an elevator and it fell to the floor. The tv we had in our room was broken but replaced later the next day (and this was all on our first 24 hours). For those that like coffee, be prepared to have it black. No creamers are supplied in the room and the service at the lobby bar early in the morning is non-existent. The person ignores you until he stacks all his liquor bar, then no smile or good morning. You feel you are annoying him. Service is late so sleep in. It was hard to gauge whether everything opened at 6 AM or 7 AM. It seemed nobody really began to function until after 7 AM. Overall, this is a decent 3.5* resort at a 4* price

Great Resort… never heard of hotel chain before and was pleasantly surprised.

Great property.. grounds were beautiful at night. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The food was great with lots of varieties to choose from .. only thing I would say about the food is that the chefs might consider using less salt. I would definitely recommend and visit again!!

Will be back!

We have been to Iberostar Rose Hall twice. First time at the Suites (approx. 7 years ago). Second time at the Beach (last week). I would recommend both without hesitation. This review is about Rose Hall Beach which honestly I didn't think was that different from the Suites. The Suites have a Starbucks-esque cafe but otherwise, there is not much difference. Highlights include the following: - The gym is big, clean and well-appointed with many different cardio machines (tread, spin, step, elipt [... read more]ical), free weights and universal weight training equipment. It could, however, use more A/C throughout the gym - Wifi throughout the resort is strong. - The food at all restaurants was great. Great meals every single time. Even the buffet is delicious with many fresh and healthy options. - With just a few exceptions, all staff (restaurant, bar, gym, cleaning) were very friendly and attentive. - The lobby bar was the best for a pre-dinner drink and to play pool - The pool bar was not nearly as good as they were constantly busy (March Break). The waitresses on the beach were a godsend to avoid the lines. - The entertainment was well...entertaining! We didn't expect much but enjoyed the shows each night. - The room was nice with a great deck overlooking the water which was great for a post day, pre-dinner reset. The bathroom could have used a few repairs but it didn't bother us much. - The beach is nice with approx 1km (there and back) for walking. - There are many vendors in kayaks on the water but they do not come on the beach and are never aggressive or rude. I did not feel unsafe at any time in Jamaica. - The spa provided nice services. My daughter and I both enjoyed our facials and massages. - The shuttle to the resort was no problem - very quick. The shuttle back was very long as we had delays at the other resorts. Next time, I will just pay the $40USD to get my own taxi back to the airport. (This is more of Sunwing problem than an Iberostar problem).

Awesome resort!

This resort was morw than we expected, the rooms were very clean and tidy and elegant. The food was AMAZING, the buffet alone was enough let alone the side rearaurants that were delishes as well. The staff at the iberostar beach were spectacular, so friendly and courteous, went above and beyond our expectations. Shout out to Felicia our concierge who made our stay very enjoyable. Thanks again we will be back.

Wonderful Stay

We experienced the absolute best service from Dean and Shannon at the lobby bar. The food was exceptional from local fruit to fresh sushi. There was no shortage of entertainment or activities to partake in. The only downfall was the excess seaweed due to the cold front and drastic change in weather.

Terrific resort with exceptional food and service

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Well-kept grounds and rooms with exceptional food. There is something for everyone. Things to do or just relax in the sun and the staff will take good care of you. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Nice staff

Originally went to this resort to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We got married at this resort 10 years ago. The staff is very nice and friendly the food wasnt too good. The concierge is nice but very harassing when it comes to sales for membership. The pool music was good. The entertainment was ok. The party vibe is pretty slow there. Most likely will try a different resort for our next trip to Jamaica.

Vert Nice Resort

The hotel was clean, grounds well kept, beautiful beach, great food and drinks and lots of activities for kids and adults alike.Loved it! The only issue we had was the rude attitude we got from one of the girls in the Tour area of the hotel.

Pleasant place to visit

The hotel is about 20 minutes from the airport which is a perfect location. The Beach resort is one of 3 resorts on the Iberostar complex. The staff were friendly and courteous. The beach was nice. Large pools with some activities offered. Food and service was good at all restaurants except the Smokehouse. Vendors on the beach were monitored by security. Fresh coffee at the bar was great. Night time entertainment offered but the best performer was the Country Jamaican Singer, Billy Lee Neal- gr [... read more]eat voice ! ( Sang nonstop for 90 minutes!) Hotel could use some updating but it was decent.

Disappointing

Went for my dad's birthday paid for decorations and it was put together so poorly that it lasted 10 mins and no one would fix it. Coffee machines were always broken, ice cream store ran out of chocolate and vanilla for 4 days. I have been to this resort 4 times and it was really good but post COVID I will not go back. Buffet had 50% less things than before. Overall very disappointing, they got rid of ginger ale at this resort as well, not Iberostar standard. They were always running out [... read more] of Beer, but it was an overall disappointing experience from when I was there in 2019

Amazing place

I just got back from this amazing resort yesterday. Iberostar Hall Rose Beach is a great place to visit, I have been returning to this resort for 7 years. The staff, entertainment and management are all so friendly and helpful and do their best to enjoy your stay.

Huge resort

I will start with the positives. The food was amazing. A great variety every day. The a la carte's were also extremely good. The staff was friendly and helpful. When we checked in I asked for a room near an elevator because I am handicapped. I should have asked for a room near the restaurant's and beach and pool. The original room we were in was close to an elevator but 45 minutes from the restaurants. I;m sure for a healthy person it would not have taken as long. I was very dishearten [... read more]ed and in tears because I felt that I was not up to the challenge. My husband went to the front desk and asked for us to be moved but they could not accommodate us. Next morning the Sun wing Representative called for a meet a greet and I explained my concerns. He made sure that by 2:00 pm we had been moved to a room on the ground floor near all the amenities. I will be forever grateful to him for his kindness. The hotel is not conducive for any one with a handicap. It is a much too large a resort. The rooms were beautiful. Well kept and very clean. Hat's off to the cleaning staff. Also, the reason that I booked this hotel was because it had room service. Unfortunately they discontinued this a few months ago. So false advertising. I would recommend this hotel to people with no disabilities.
