Family vacation

We have been to this resort last summer and this summer . We love this resort . Rooms can be updated and need to give all towels in size . Food is good steak out on adults only other one sucks with Italian sucks. Beach not go but we went to 2 beach’s off resort. They just need to take all the towels off the lawn chairs at night because people don’t know . Bar in pool should stay open until pool closes. Fridge should alway be filled with what is missing . We are a big family with 3 guys that can [... read more] eat and every restaurant we ordered each 2 to 3 plates at a time and we finished everything.there is a little shop down the beach it’s a nice walk down the beach even through the it looks like a lake. Entertainment at night was good always something. The beach party was wild . Casino needs an update and more machines. Need to update the people that work there. Someone was unfriendly. Do the boggie Excursions do the one with the beach same price longer and much better.

Awesome resort

Resort was exactly what we had wanted beautiful resort great food well kept property rooms were clean and spacious the only downside was the sea weed but of no fault of the resort and the staff worked really hard every day to clean it up . Would def recommend this resort and we will be returning !

Fantastic Resort!

The entire resort was clean, the staff were friendly and more than happy to take care of our needs! The food was excellent and the beach beautiful! We met some wonderful people while there on vacation. We are planning on going back very soon.

Great Resort

We recently stayed at this resort and had an amazing experience. Everything from start to finish exceeded our expectations. The resort itself was beautiful, with great decor and a really relaxing, well thought out atmosphere. Great first resort!

First resort vacation for the two of us and we had a lovely time! Great location - close to the airport, but it felt tucked away. Grateful we went for the adult-only option, but also had access to the full resort. Beach was great with lots of beautiful trees, though it was sometimes tough to find a spot with so many people saving chairs. Staff were friendly & helpful, particularly Hansel who coordinated activities. Room was nice, and felt comfortable rather than a sterile grey/white copy of so [... read more]mething you could find anywhere. Food was fine, but not worth a return trip. And, when they said they had 'archery', they meant a single bow that we lined up to shoot a couple of times. Great to be able to kayak out on the ocean!

Amazing Resort

We had a great holiday at the Catalonia Royal Bavaro. Had great food and a variety of food choice. The staff were always friendly and very helpful. The pools and beach were great. They did a great job cleaning the seaweed off the beach every morning

Never Going Back

Our stay at Catalonia was… an experience. Let’s call it “character building.” Check-in took a solid 50+ minutes, highlighted by one staff member that looked lost, that was on a never-ending radio call. Meanwhile, we just stood there… (there were 3 people in a line up) The service was a mixed bag: most waiters stared like we personally ruined their day, but shoutout to the two absolute legends who actually smiled and helped us --- true MVPs. The room had a strong “vintage humidity” vibe. [... read more] No ventilation, musty bedding, and even our clothes joined the scent club by day two. The toilet was backed up as we arrived (1am) - the plumber showed up the next day to fix it. The soaker tub stopper was leaking water so you couldn't fill up the tub with water. All could have been checked and fixed before our arrival. Day one, we got an 8AM wake-up call (after arriving past midnight) from guest services, who then proceeded to WhatsApp-bomb us and eventually escort us *surprise!* to a sales pitch disguised as lunch. Nothing says “vacation” like being held hostage over a travelers club presentation. The scenery? 50/50. Half beautiful, half “let’s go back to the room… oh wait.” Would we come back? - Never.

Excellent Resort !

We loved this resort . very chill and relaxing , just what we wanted for our holiday . We were lucky enough to book the duplex with our own small pool for the week , the room was comfortable , great bed and bathroom . Our cleaning staff were amazing and friendly . Beach was nice and cleaned every day , lots of palm trees and shade . Water was warm and shallow .Large pools were also great. Love the Catalonia in Punta Cana

The hotel is very nice. It’s clean and well kept. The staff is friendly and helpful. The beach is perfect. The water is calm and seaweed is cleaned daily. The food is decent and there’s lots of variety. The only downfall is there are not designated smoking areas so people walk around freely and smoke on the grounds, on room patios/balconies, around pools, bars and the beach. As a non smoker it’s very disruptive.

Darling Resort

The staff and service at this resort is absolutely amazing. We waited for nothing. We even recognized staff from when we were there two years ago. This is our very first time going to the same resort twice and it did not disappoint. The rooms are dated, but are very adequate. The service and food out weigh the dated rooms.

The resort offered numerous à la carte restaurants, each with its own theme and ambiance. The buffets were equally impressive. The food was fresh, varied, and beautifully presented. Our dietary restrictions were well accommodated . Getting around the property was easy thanks to well-maintained pathways, and a shuttle service that was quick, reliable, and plentiful. What truly set this resort apart, however, was the staff. From arrival to departure, every interaction was marked by warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality. Their attentiveness and friendliness elevated the entire experience. This is a resort we recommend without hesitation — for relaxation, celebration, or simply soaking up the Caribbean sun in style.

Nice resort

The grounds were very well maintained. Food was good but inconsistent also the menu on the app in some restaurants was completely different than the restaurant menu. Biggest complaint was having to get up before 7am in order to get a chair at the pools. People would leave towels for as long as 6hours and never use them.

Nice location

We experienced a 2 hour check in (2am before we got a room) - our friends that travelled with us and booked through Tripcentral were told they had received "no reservation" and experienced almost 4 hours before they were placed in a room "for the night" then were moved to another room, later the next day, we all lost the Saturday to enjoy our vacation, our television did not work, after reporting this twice daily, someone finally showed up to look at it, 3 days later only to say he would be b [... read more]ack " in a few minutes with a new one" - never saw them or a new TV at all.

Ok resort

Clean rooms and resort. Food at ala cartes was good but not very hot. Easy to get reservations. Only 1 ATM at resort and its on the family side, it was not working more than half the time I was there. Beach had lots of natural shade with all the palm trees. Staff were friendly and helpful. The one really negative is when you arrive you are hit up with a "free breakfast" at their exclusive club, which is an invitation to a sales pitch to join their club. Had a problem with my shower door not closing and causing lots of water on bathroom floor, told front desk twice about it and no one came to even look at it in the 10 days I was there

GOOD RESORT FOR ADULTS

Grounds are beautiful and well looked after, beach is awesome. All Staff at front desk, bars, restaurants very friendly and helpful. Guest services felt like you were bothering them, made it difficult to deal with. They told us to pick 4 restaurants in the beginning and come back to pick the rest later which meant we could not get into anything for the last few days. We spoke to others that had the same thing. It looks like there has been water damage in the rooms. If you have the privileged room and are told you have premium liquor (wrong) it is only available at one bar which was not one, we went to not near pools or beach. Not worth the extra money. Do not bother going into Punta Cana it is not a small city centre but a Mall with a grocery store.

Catalonia Royal Bavaro

Gorgeous, clean, friendly, fun and relaxing. My husband and I vacationed here for our 10th wedding anniversary, and it was even more beautiful in person that what the pictures showed online. We had an amazing experience, and would gladly stay there again.

Beautiful Clean Average to above for food, but 3/4 of us became sick (1st time - we have been about 8 times) Good swim-up bar party pool Awesome quiet pool (Infinity), however, to look like a true infinity pool, the garden and sign need to be removed so that the pool looks like it goes into the ocean Great view of the beach while having breakfast at Be Loved (peanut butter toast is good, and so is the avocado toast) The privilege section is great with beds and an awesome waiter named Marco [... read more]s, who is very attentive The beach is not great as the water is murky and has seaweed, walk to the family area for a better swim (prefer the beach at Riu or Bahia, but prefer Catalonia resort itself) Like the small size of the resort (adult only), as you can walk anywhere - no need to take a trolley, unlike Bahia and Riu If you want more restaurants and parties, you can venture over to the family side Great atmosphere and drinks at the piano bar, plus a light-up robot costume performance one night I love sitting at the Thalassia restaurant after dinner with drinks, watching the poolside shows (circus acrobatics, Dominican music, karaoke, singing...). Beautiful lobby - great reception Great concierge for a la carte reservations Good porters Quick service to unlock the safe when an issue arises Good maid service, but missing face cloths at times, and the shower floor is not always washed (sand from the beach) Best meal was at Tao Cat (thai food) near the beach 2nd best meal at Rodeo Steak House

Favourite Resort!

We had a relaxing time at this resort, great food especially seafood options and the quiet beach areas, also very good service. The water in the beach area is shallow but it is beautiful to walk out and can swim still. The hotel experience is great, small intimate atmosphere with care taken when ordering special drinks. Upgraded to premium and liked the more modern room decor, new lamp, grey laminate flooring, white patio chairs. high standards for cleanliness and food prep no issues

Relaxing Resort

Stayed at Catalonia Royal Bavaro. All the staff were great, especially the front desk and the pool servers! Resort is on the more quiet side, but if you wanted more activity you could just walk next door to the family resort. The pool was great and warm! Restaurants were wonderful.
