Amazing Experience at Riu Santa Fe

My brother and I had an amazing experience at Riu Santa Fe. From the Airport to the resort and back, everything was very well organized for us. The resort was very clean, friendly staff, great food, and very fun with lots to do. It was a great balance of fun for young college adults, as well as for families that enjoy good vibes. I would recommend this all inclusive to anyone who want a fun experience in Mexico.

Never again!

We were devastated to find out it was spring break for many colleges from the USA for the entire 2 weeks of our vacation. The resort had no control over the young people who were all drinking to excess. We saw so many sloppy drunks, as the age limit for drinking in Mexico is 18. The youth were 3-4 deep at the bar, making it almost impossible to get served. One boy pulled the fire alarm at 3/00 in the morning so the whole. Building had to evacuate. They were yelling at the pools, in their rooms ( [... read more]where there was more free alcohol) and in the hallways up to 4:00 am. The food was tasty and there was a good variety but it was never hot.

Amazing resort!

Husband and I loved everything about this place. Food and service was excellent. Only negative was our proximity to the RIU Parties that took place every other night.....otherwise location of our room was convenient for buffet, pool and beach! Highly recommend!

The resort was beautiful and clean. Checking in was easy. The staff were very polite and actually quite amazing. We had a staff member bring our bags to our room and get us ice, he was very pleasant. We had to call to have our coffee and water replenished in our room, I’ve never had to do this. Restaurants were mediocre to good except for the Italian restaurant, it was buffet style and very low grade, we left to eat elsewhere. On our last day I called at 7:00 am for someone to come at 9:30 [... read more] to get our bags, I was told it wasn’t a problem, I called again shortly after 8:00 am to confirm someone would still come and I was told yes. I called at 9:35am to see if someone was on his way and was put on hold, at this point we had to leave without him as it was almost 9:45am and had to be at the front seat by 10:00 am. At first I had this resort at a 5*, it dropped to a 4.5* and then even less. I’m sure the resort could change a few things to bring it as close as possible to a 4.5* - 5* On another note, we met great people, had fun. Would I be back, no.

Beautiful resort

Beautiful resort lots of pools. The buffets were great lots of options. Was not impressed with the Italian restaurant. The steak house was OK as for the rest they were great. The staff is very friendly and bar tenders were amazing

Front Desk- Horrible service

The face of the hotel was nothing short of horrible. The food was mid. Not family friendly. Rooms horrible. way over priced for the stay. The only good thing were the bar tenders and house keepers. Never again

An excellent resort

I recently stayed at this hotel during my vacation and had a wonderful experience. The room was exceptionally clean and well maintained, which made it feel very comfortable and welcoming. The mattress was incredibly supportive and cozy, allowing for a great night’s sleep after long days of exploring. I was also impressed with the updated washrooms — modern, fresh, and spotless. The food at the hotel was excellent, with a few restaurants to choose from, although even one would have been more than enough because the quality was good. The major areas of the resort were sometimes crowded, but it was always possible to find a quiet spot to relax. Overall, it was a relaxing and pleasant stay, and I would happily return.

Great holiday!

Beautiful resort. Rooms are very modern, everything super clean. Grounds well kept. Food great and lots of choice. Was nervous that it’s known as the party resort and yes it is for those who want it. But lots of quiet spots too. Beach was amazing and the view too. We had partial ocean view

Riu Santa Fe

This is the one Riu that we will definitely not be back. Food is the worst of all the Riu's we've been to, and we are not picky eaters. Most meats are way over cooked. Staff are Riu's usual wonderful tho. their one redeeming grace. The flies drove me crazy, flying right into my face. there are little tiny ants? flies? (I really can't tell, they're really tiny) by the droves in and around the sinks every morning. and some on the bureau also. also this is the one AI resort that we've been to [... read more] that doesn't have a lobby bar. only the sports bar is open during the day (24 hrs, like most other Rius), all other bars that's open during the day are by the pool and beach. Sports bar can get REALLY loud. This is definitely not a place to relax. will not be back.

Great time at RIU Santa Fe

Had a great time at Riu Santa Fe. The resort is well kept. Rooms are modern and well equipped. Beds were comfortable. The only complain is that most of the A Lacarte restaurants are buffet style. The steak house is not but you have to line up at 5:00 pm to get a place. I don’t understand why they just don’t take reservations and spare us from standing in the blazing sun for min 45 min. Nice resort

Nice, very well organized, but very busy resort. Due to the crowding, the resort is not clean enough. There are too many guests, so the restaurants and pools are crowded. The quality and selection of food is great. The staff works hard.

Clean & Comfortable

Cleanliness is an absolute obsession with the staff of this hotel. Food choices were infinite. So many pools and restaurants. Definitely would stay again in the future. Minibar is stocked every second day.

Great resort

Very clean, food was great. Grounds are well groomed. Staff is friendly. Riu parties are lots of fun. Great resort to just relax or if you want to party there are parties. Very safe place to go. There are Excursions and plenty of activities to do if you wish to do so.

Riu never disappoints me !!

Riu is always a 5 star experience. I have been going on vacation for 45 years and have never been disappointed with the riu team. The resorts are very clean and updated. I have always enjoyed the food choices and the quality of food. I have not been to many other resorts but the riu. I went to the riu mazatlan last year for 2 weeks that place needs a upgrade. But I still enjoyed it.

The RIU Sante Fe was a good resort

The grounds were well kept and clean the staff were very friendly the buffet food was fairly good with daily variations this resort is mostly a party resort, not really meant for young families and the elderly

Excellent

It is very large Hotel is very large. We were in building 7 (only section with elevators). Make sure you ask for a room closer to front of hotel as there are Riu parties happening 4 days out of 7, with 2 being at night, they are very, very loud. Of course you get the drunk people coming after parties which you can hear up and down hallways. Rooms were large and comfortable, very clean, no issues. The food at all restaurants is good, go early so you do not have to wait. Entertainment was lacking, kids entertainment was annoying night after night. Amazing resort

Nice, clean resort. Friendly people working hard in the resort. You can find many different programs. You can choose from excellent dishes. Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean. Our two weeks here were very pleasant. We will definitely come back to this resort

Great resort

Great people and staff, food and service was excellent, big resort but designed perfectly were everything is within 5 minutes walking distance, beautiful beach and water slides for kids and adults. Entertainment shows we’re fantastic for whole family. Weather was just perfect

Great family vacation

Had read reviews before going that this resort is incredibly well maintained and I couldn't agree more. The staff work so hard to keep the grounds clean. Very impressed. The resort is beautiful and large enough to get a good amount of steps in for the day. Balances out all the food & drinks. So many great spots for photo ops & the views from the main infinity pool are gorgeous. The waterslides are a great feature that kept our teenager busy & having fun. I never waited for any drinks. Drinks, overall, were lacking. Quite sweet and not particularly tasty, but not any worse than I expected. The bar staff are friendly and very quick to get everyone served expeditiously. Was easy to get in to the a la carte restaurants. The Asian restaurant was one disappointment. Food was really bad here. Otherwise I give the food a 7/10. Breakfast is great. A great selection of vegetables and fruit with each meal. Would have loved some variety in the lunch/dinner however. After a week we were pretty bored with the food. Steak restaurant for dinner - a bit of a disaster. For good steak, the restaurant Kulinarium was a great option. We came here twice, and probably would have gone more, if we had tried it prior to our 2nd to last day. Great service, good food. Rooms were good. Clean. No mold or humidity like in some South destinations. A very well stocked fridge was much appreciated. We were a bit nervous with our room being in the 9th building right outside of the party pool where the themed parties were held. Given that we were travelling with a teenager we were worried that it would be too loud with loud music & rowdy party goers. The rooms, surprisingly, block a reasonable amount of the sound & parties ended at reasonable hours that our sleep was not interrupted. A very happy surprise. Location was great. The beach is gorgeous and LARGE. Downside is water isn't super swimmable, but we knew that when booking & weren't expecting it to be. Can walk for 20-30 minutes to either side of the beach for some exercise. The hotel was about a 30 min walk (very safe!) to the marina of Los Cabos. Highly recommend the walk into town. Overall, great trip. Would recommend. For the price, it's about what you'd expect, or better.
