Los Delfines OK by me

This hotel is small (103 rooms) so everything is close. Staff are great and try hard to keep you comfortable. Food is lacking, but the dining room is very clean. Resort is very dated and needs a refresh.

Small friendly resort on veradeo beach

Rooms were clean . It is an older hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Food is fine. Pasta bar and omelet station. Grounds are nice plenty of security . They had plenty of different drink options. Twenty four hour bar on beach

Great

Great location, staff were very friendly and helpful when needing anything, the beach was beautiful. A small resort so everything was very accessible which worked for me 3 bars, buffet and snackbar were great,The only thing that was missing was a 24hr snack bar which would make it the best of the best!

Don't expect 5 star resort!

My biggest complaint was the washrooms on the resort, they had no toilet seats, no toilet paper, and smelled like an outhouse! Also the doors were left open so they were full of mosquitos and flies! The rooms are good unless you are on the third floor and had to walk up and down 3 flights of stairs! The food was plentiful but desserts such as cake were scarce!

Excellent location. Superb Staff

This was my third trip to Cuba and my first all inclusive resort (usually do Casa Particulars). The reviews had me a little concerned but then I remembered that folks like to complain. I had a great experience. The rooms were clean and well tended to. The staff were super friendly and added to my trip enjoyment. (my only "problem" was the blanket on the bed was the size of a couch blanket. Overall the food was plentiful and tasty. On days when I wasn't feeling the buffet it was a short walk to several great restaurants where I found tasty breakfasts, and huge lobster tails for less than 20 CDN per meal. There was lots of entertainment options and the safety of Cuba made exploring a breeze. I am already planning my next trip and Los Delfines will definately be my resort of choice.

Los Delphines

The room I received this time was nice the air conditioner worked very well. The food has alot of improvement needed. Ate at the restaurant up the street and it was fantastic food all the wait staff new we were from Los Delphine's without even telling them. The staff was great . The best beach in Varadero

Great Trip!

Great hotel, great location and great employees. Out the front door you are in the middle of town on the main drag, out the back door you are on the beach. Only shortage I was aware of was vodka. But you could get it down the street in the American store. Food was ok, ate out 3-4 times. My plane was delayed 5 hours coming home, they extended my checkout time to 11pm.

Amazing resort in the heart of Varadero!

Very nice 7 days spent in Los Delfines. Location is excellent, food is good for people who don't eat process food: simple, natural and tasty. We don't complain, much more variety than every day at home. Hotel is clean, staff friendly, right on the beautiful beach. It was our fourth time there and we will return. Cuban people are there too but we have to remember that is their country. If somebody have a higher expectation they should pay and go to 5 stars resort.

Great resort

This resort is in a great location in Varadero the staff are friendly and we have made many friends resort is clean and rooms are comfortable food is entertainment was good some items they ran out of but was replenished fairly quickly

All the repeat guests can't be wrong!

This was my 4th or 5th stay at Los Delfines, I know what to expect. I particularly like the downtown location, the friendly staff and the smaller size of the resort. It's easy to tell many of the guests are repeat visitors, and love it. The food was not bad, better than what I experienced at a "better" resort in Varadero just last August, but it can get boring. Lots of options within walking distance to go out to eat though. Some of the rooms are small, mine was this time, and could use a good r [... read more]efurb. But then the price would go up! When you consider the cost per week here and factor out the flight cost it is remarkable, in my opinion, what you do get for your money. No, it's not the Ritz. But I'd go back in a heart beat! I read lots of reviews panning some of these low cost hotel/resorts, especially in Cuba, but with due consideration to what you're getting for your dollar Los Delfines is hard to beat. Want 5 star luxury? Go to a 5 star resort and pay the premium.

Los Delfines

We liked this hotel for its hospitality, location and good food. The staff is friendly and there is a good mix of Cubans as well as Canadians and other foreign tourists. It is probably the best value for any all inclusive hotel in Cuba.

Great time!

The staff was super friendly and accommodating. I really enjoyed the shows, drinks and beach. Unfortunately the room above me was under construction (drilling & hammering). Also my room had a broken balcony door and cockroaches. I didn't mention this to the staff because I'm pretty sure they can't do anything about it. It seemed like the entire resort needs some upgrading.

Very disappointing

Had the same set of 2 bath towels for two weeks. Food was cold and the same everyday. Wine with meals was just an occasional treat. No pillowcase on my wife's pillow. Broken towel rack on bathroom, broken sliding balcony door. Other than that it was ok. Staff was nice and friendly. Locals staying at resort got preferred treatment in the dining room and on the beach.

Seasoned single travelling mom on the run happy as can be

Clean room, clean pool, hot water, working lamps, overhead lights and a.c., beautiful sheets, hair dryer!, not a bug in sight, great entertainment, lovely little balcony on west side of pool catching the morning sun. Food, not very good, close to inedible for North American standards, and in nearly all-Cuban resort did not feel staff was terribly interested in me, but I was on a mom run and felt safe, safer than anywhere I have ever been, wanted the closest access to the beach and I got it.

Adequate, good price

Room (standard): floor not swept and fridge dirty on arrival, shower lever not working but repaired in good time. No phone to contact reception. Linen: only 2 medium towels, no bath mat, only bottom sheet on bed, worn blanket with holes (but clean), no extra blankets We were upgraded to a suite as it was our anniversary, it had a table and chairs, regular size new fridge and ocean view. However, the water new got warmer than room temp, and the day before leaving a water pipe burst in the build [... read more]ing, so there was no water for bathing or flushing the toilet. The biggest disappointment was that no one came to offer us the use of another room to shower in (no phone for us to contact reception or vice versa). We used the outdoor showers and lobby toilet (in another building). Food: okay, not a huge variety, but fine. It was much better our last day - that seems to happen often in Cuba. The snack bar sandwiches and fries were cold and not very good. The regular snack bar was closed for renos, so perhaps it is better there. Bar: poor synthetic pina colada, beer and basic mixed drinks okay. Wine was sometimes served at the buffet, present at the a la carte. The a la carte was a highlight because it is in a colonial Spanish building. The food was not much better than the buffet, but the ambience is worth it. Shows: basic, music off at 11 pm. Did not do the pool activities - pool was fine. Would we return - yes, it is great value and a central location. The staff were friendly and treated us well, masks were worn in the buffet but not elsewhere. There were only 20 cases per day being reported in the country that week.

Disappointed

The grounds and public areas were kept well, the rooms could do with some attention when we arrived pipes in the bathroom were leaking, the lamps on the night tables had no light bulbs and the beds had no top sheets just blankets to cover yourself. They did not supply bottled water to the rooms we had to go down to the beach bar to fill our bottles with water. Great resort

Great upkeep of the grounds and pool. Very clean. Great service. The food was ok for Cuba. Many restaurants in the area if you don't like what they're serving. No issues with electricity, water or AC. Fast check in. Animation team was great.

Home sweet home

We have been coming to this resort for many years. We keep coming back because of the location, staff and the friends that keep coming back just like us. The location is perfect for us as it is located right in the middle of town where we have many choices for eating out. The food is decent, I never leave the buffet hungry. The beach is second to none around varadero. We have also gotten to know the staff here and they are mostly excellent. Amazing resort

Hotel grounds were very nice, and older hotel but very clean, food good for Cuba, hotel staff amazing. This hotel is right in downtown Varadero so close to shopping and restaurants. The hotel is in three parts: Beach bar and special coffee bar, and older hotel with the buffet and a la carte, and the hotel on the main street with the lobby, pool ,and bar and snack bar. Nice cozy resort

First time at this resort. The staff was friendly but the front desk reception wasnt very informative. The food was good and lots of selection, a'la cart was really good and the waiter was very entertaining. The room was down the road with our own private pool and our room wasnt cleaned for the first two days with no fresh towels or toilet paper. But despite all that I liked the location and the price. Will book again there next year.
