The resort was beautiful, met a wonderful lady worker, her name is Sherylea, she treated us like family !! Due to hurricane Melissa we didn't get to experience the full experience of the resort. Definitely on list to return one day

Nice Resort
We stayed at the resort last week. The resort was very nice
Our room was amazing. The service was fantastic and the food was very good. I did not enjoy that there was not a dinner buffet. Restaurants were full every night. Very difficult to get in unless you ate very early. I did not appreciate the constant upsell at the resort. I will not return due to the amount of drugs being sold on the beach. The locals are literally standing around while you are tanning or in the water. They offer weed, [... read more]gummies and cocaine. This was the biggest turnoff. The security did nothing to deter it. They were very rude to the young girls on the beach. There were many couples that felt the same way and will not return.

Changed
Iberostar continues to keep the hotel up to date and overall clean. The noise at night is too much. Outside entertainment starts at 9:30 beside the pool. Food is good still. Staff is excellent still. Used to have butler service for everyone. Too many beach sellers at waters edge. Selection of red and white wines could be a notch or two better. Scotch selection used to be better. Would we go back ???

Luxury with a smile
The iberostar resort in Jamaica has something for every type of traveller. With 3 different sections, there is an abundance of activities to keep you busy, or ample pool space and loungers if you just want to relax with a drink. My mother and I stayed at the grand and it was, well… grand for the most part. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. The rooms have been updated and the private balconies are huge, complete with couch and swinging chair. The nightly entertainment was fantastic and t[... read more]he food was some of the best I have experienced while at resort. The bar is supposed to be fully stocked daily, and we went 3 days without having it restocked. We finally ran into the bar stocking employee and gave him a decent tip and told him to restock. We were restocked that one day only. That was not a deal breaker- as there are many places throughout the resort to get a drink if you want one. Room service was very hit or miss. One night we waited for over 2 hours for dinner. Another night, room service came within 30 minutes. I guess it really depended on who was working each day. My biggest disappointment was the star prestige presentation. We were promised a sunset catamaran cruise in exchange for attending a presentation on their ‘ star prestige’ package. The session was only supposed to last 90 minutes, it ended up being over 2 hours. We were clear w the sales rep we weren’t interested, the manager came over and insisted on trying to ‘sweeten the pot’ with additional savings. Again, we declined and the entire mood of the sales rep and manager changed. They were very abrupt and showed us the door. We inquired about the catamaran cruise and they acted as if they didn’t know anything, and then passed us off to the concierge, who then said we should speak with star prestige. I found the entire presentation and pressure sales campaign to be very distasteful, especially when spending over $800 per night for a room in the resort. When we saw the sales rep the next day she acted as if she didn’t know us and we never did receive the gift we were promised.
Overall- if the beach quality and amenities are at the top of your list, then I would consider the iberostar. The resort itself is extremely well maintained and the section for the grand was absolutely beautiful. I did notice a huge difference in service levels between the 3 resorts in the compound, with service at the grand being the best. I went to the pool bar one day at the iberostar suites and the pool bartender I asked to break a $10 for me went to keep $5 out of it when he gave me the money ( I was intending on giving him a tip) but when I saw that he was trying to take advantage of the situation I was quite frustrated and it left a sour taste in my mouth. If money isn’t an issue, stay at the grand but don’t expect the same level of service or amenities at the other 2 sections of the resort.

Mixed Feelings
In short, everything outside of our room was great ie. pool, beach, food, the facilities and the staff. Where they fell short was the inconsistent service of the room. Every day we had issues whether it was water, coffee, towels, replacement of dirty glasses etc. On one occasion our room was not even cleaned.

Amazing Resort
We had a wonderful stay, perfect room location, amazing balcony view, All the amenities one could ask for. Never been to a hotel where they are concerned about guests getting sunburnt and provide factor 60 suncreen for guest use at the towel bar! We had our own but it was a very thoughtful addition! Food, Entertainment great, Bar Staff outstanding and lots of fun.
We were not disappointed in the Grand in any way but would have to say the Lazy river at the Suites resort is a huge disappointment.[... read more] It is so lazy you have to drag or walk yourself around. Barely anyone using it and is such an attraction on the marketing of the property. They really should fix the jets and have it actually functional.

Great Resort and relaxing!
This resort had a lot of option to do! the pools were very clean, the beaches were clean and the service was great. The food was plenty and you can never be hungry here, especially with all of the restaurant choices. The entertainment was top notch and there was always something to do. If you're looking for a place to relax and take it easy, this is the place for you!

Great resort
Overall a fantastic resort with a few extras that are nice touches, such as butler service, 24 hour room service, turn-down service, plus top shelf liquor.
Grounds are beautiful and very well maintained as are the pools. Lots of seating both at pool and beach. Beach is nice and swimmable and you have a nice stretch of beach for your walks.
The food is incredible and a great variety to choose from at the buffet. Completely surprised with the options that also included shrimp, lobster, fi[... read more]sh, steak as well as local cuisine - Jerk chicken.
Variety of options on entertainment from morning yoga on the beach to crafts to live band on the beach.
The rooms are spacious and in great condition yet dated in decor (not a big deal) because the bed and pillows are superior and provided the most comfortable restful sleep.
The only flaw which is out of the control of the hotel is the merchants that walk the beach, it gets tiring to have to say no thank you to the same person multiple times a day. I had no issues with the merchants selling souvenirs yet the drug solicitation from a handful of merchants was undesirable. Again, out of control of the hotel, but something to be aware of in advance.
Fundamental question is would I go back - ABSOLUTELY!

Amazing Anniversary Vacation:)
Check in was smooth. Concierge brought us to an area to make dinner reservations. We arrived on a Thursday and were able to make reservations until Sunday. We were told the remaining reservations could be made through our butler, which we did on Saturday! The dinner buffet at the Grand is not open every night but they're able to tell you when it's open/closed so we enjoyed the buffet the nights it was open and ate in the a la carte's the other nights!
The concierge explains that there's 170+[... read more] Iberostar's across the globe and invited us to a breakfast. We understood this was a time share presentation and politely declined. It wasn't an issue and we were brought to the bell hop to get our bags and be escorted to our room. One of our butlers, Jaime, met us at the room and gave us a full tour and set us up with WhatsApp for the butlers.
Every morning the morning butler introduced themselves with an itinerary of what restaurants were open, entertainment etc. via WhatsApp. The butlers checked in several times a day by both WhatsApp and in person! Our butlers were all fantastic: Taneil, Romell, Ralston, Travis & Jaime
Iberostar has an app which we utilized to find out what activities were going on (aquafit, classes at the gym etc.).
We ordered room service for breakfast twice and it was quick, accurate and delicious.
We didn't have an issue getting reservations; we had a few 8pm/9pm reservation nights, but we rolled with it! We took the opportunity to hang out on our huge balcony early evening, order cheese/crackers, hummus etc. from room service, make a drink (room is fitted with customized mini bar and 2 bottles of your choice of liquor) and enjoy the tranquility of the space!
There was amazing selection at all restaurants. I'm a vegetarian where my husband is not. We were both able to find amazing food choices; I can honestly say, the Iberostar does a fantastic job of offering a well-rounded menu at both the buffets and a la carte's.
We participated in lots of activities; paddleboard yoga, aquafit, arts and crafts, kayaking, snorkeling etc. We went to the gym, played pickleball and walked the beach! We checked out the Iberostar Suites next door; enjoyed their lobby entertainment, a show in their theatre and buffet one evening.
The lobby bar at the Grand was great; we spent a lot of evenings there before/after shows. Cassandra was an amazing hostess!
The shows were enjoyable both in the theatre, on the beach and at the pool area.
The Iberostar Resorts are on a public beach so there are vendors. It was a smidge annoying but honestly, not nearly as bad as I expected given reviews I'd read. I found the vendors in Dominican Republic on Bavaro Beach as well as in Nassau, Bahamas, much, much worse than this. A 'no thanks' worked, not to say the same vendor wouldn't ask you again in an hour, but again, a 'no thanks' and they were on their way.
We had a fantastic vacation and would gladly recommend this resort to friends and family.

Large & Beautiful Resort
We stayed for 7 nights as a group of 30 for our wedding. Majority of us were at the Grand with some at the suites. The resort is huge! There are 2 buildings for each resort (beaches, suites and grand) making it a long walk between if you have people in the different resorts.
The Grand is definitely the chill out, adults only area, whereas Suites has all the fun party pool activities! The foam parties, volleyball, the lazy river!
The food was great at all restaurants. The only meals we didn't e[... read more]njoy as much was our Welcome dinner and Wedding dinners. We were a meat heavy group so cooking 25 steaks at the same time wasn't something they were used to. But all other meals were great, loads of selection everywhere you went. I had steak 2-3 other times and they were cooked to perfection!
Butler service was amazing, coffee and mimosas delivered to our room at a set time daily! They use WhatsApp to communicate so make sure you download this app before going as there is free wifi everywhere!
The beach was ok, Cuba beaches are nicer than Montego Bay. We didn't spend as much time at the beach as we were with a group, but if you like the beach vs the pool, they are not white sandy beaches.
Overall, we would go back, but we typically don't repeat resorts so would likely explore another area of Jamaica instead!

Somewhat disappointing
The grounds were great!! all walkways were tiled nicely with wheelchair accessibility, mopped and kept very clean at all times.
The public areas were kept clean as well, however in the washrooms the men's had 1 sink working out of 3. The spa was at one time very nicely designed but very outdated tiling, the steam-room looked like it was full of mold hence we never used it.
The rooms were very nice, and well thought, they were cleaned daily, minibar refreshed daily as well. Butler service was [... read more]lacking, having to chase them down to get what we needed. They also had an issue with cockroaches and after reporting to the concierge, we were opted to be relocated to another room but we traveled with other guests and there was no offer to relocate them with us. As well as speaking with other guests, these issues were throughout.
Dining was a hit and miss.
Smoking was not permitted inside, but was not limited outside. smoking outside was pretty much everywhere with no designated area.

Was an amazing resort
This was our 4th time to this resort. The staff do not disappoint. They are friendly, pleasant and accommodating. I love the people. What has changed over the years is the beachfront (it is getting much smaller) and the solicitor trying to sell cannabis on the beach. In past years they were never walking the beach but this year they are. At one point there was actually an altercation between a solicitor and a guest and then police. This is unacceptable. I even saw a security guard sleeping when [... read more]he was “workingâ€. I love this resort but they need to get their beach back to the way it was. A large beachfront and not having guests bothered day after day. I am an IBerostar prestige member and may reconsider returning here.

Disappointing
Heard so many positive things about this hotel before we got there. We were disappointed as it has obviously gone down hill and showing it’s age. I wouldn’t say it’s a five star. Maybe 4 1/2.
Usually at a five-star hotel there is staff to greet you when you arrive. You feel welcome. That didn’t happen.
I did not find the staff to be friendly with the exception of one bartender, and one young lady handing out beach towels. Most appeared disinterested.
It appeared to be a bit dirty an[... read more]d dark in some of the hallways and there was a musty smell in hallways and room. Spraying a scent to mask it doesn’t solve the problem.
The food was good nothing memorable.
The Butler was a nice touch.
Room was nice except for the smell. They need to air them out in between bookings and while cleaning.
Furniture on the balcony not conducive to conversation. The swing faces out and the couch faces towards the swing.
My biggest issue was no hand held in shower just rain head. If you use the hand held in the bathtub water sprays all over.
The friend I travelled with had been to the Iberostar in Mexico last year and loved it. This hotel needs an update and staff with enthusiasm.
I would not recommend this hotel as there are too many resorts that I’ve been to that are better.

Paradise. That is all.
So this was my first time going to a tropical destination and resort. And I must say, we were spoiled! First of all, we got a complimentary upgrade to our room as soon as we checked in. The staff handed us mimosas and took our luggage just after stepping off the bus. AND a cool towel. Talk about service! All the staff had smiling faces the ENTIRE time we were there. We were always greeted in friendly manner. We had a butler check on us twice a day for “anything and everythingâ€. The food was [... read more]to DIE for. Amazing resort
Our vacation at lberostar Grand Rose Hall was for the second time wonderful! Starting with the employees : they all were struggling to please us. We were greeted every morning with smiles and questions about how we feel. They all work very hard. Hotel is very nice and rooms are kept clean permanently. I want to give special thanks to our maids who did such a wonderful birthday room decoration. Our butler Andree was top notch, permanently struggling to please us. Being repeat guests, we were invi[... read more]ted to a Coctail party which was awesome. We had the opportunity to meet all the managers, even the general manager, which is a lovely young and energetic lady. The food was great at buffet and at almost all restaurants. The only one complain we have is next to the Italian restaurant. They should pay more attention to the recipes and cook properly. The serving is also very slow. The Surf and turf restaurant was perfect from all point of view : the serving, the ambient and the quality. The Japanese restaurant was an other dissapointment. We had to wait more then 40 minutes until the chef came and he was too distracted and made too many jokes about marihuana.
The entertainment team was awesome! They were permanently in great shape and always joyful.
In conclusion, resort is great and we had a superb vacation.
Thank you to all employees for doing such a good job. For sure we will come back.
