Check-In a Huge Disappointment

Upon arrival clerk told us our 2 grandkids weren’t included & we would have to pay upfront for them. Even when we produced all the documents from or travel agent, which included their names & payment invoices, there still was a problem. We even showed her our request for 2 cribs. After a stressful 45min she came back to us insinuating that she cleared everything up. The only thing she did was add to a very long day with 2 year old twins. Two days later one of the cribs broke in the middle o [... read more]f the night, tossing one of the babies on the floor. Very disappointed, could have been a very serious situation, luckily no one was seriously injured. Please ensure all cribs are checked for safety prior to use. Not the start to our vacation we had hoped.

Wedding Factory

The Dreams resort has amazing restaurants, probably the best we've ever experienced. The room was clean and well kept and having our own personal plunge pool on our deck was amazing. The beach was really good but unfortunately was over whelmed with sea grass, making it virtually unswimable. It did not have enough chairs and umbrellas on the beach at all, so mildly frustrating. Being pushed aw [... read more]ay from your pool lounge chair, so the crews could set up a wedding. Listening to workers push cart after cart after cart of tables, chairs and stuff for weddings. Having to squeeze onto crowded and limited pool space.... because of another wedding. Trying to find a quiet spot to relax was almost impossible because of all the wedding stuff. In my opinion, the resort marginalized regular resort goers to profit from all these weddings. The resort does not have enough physical space to allow for so many weddings and still have regular guests. I would not recommend this resort for that reason alone.

Great experiemce

The hotel rooms are very well kept and are equipped with hair dryer, shampoo/conditioner, soap and lotion. The grounds are clean. The food and entertainment were great. The staff are super friendly and accommodating. I would stay here again.

Great resort

The staff was fantastic! friendly, efficient, helpful. We think the occupancy was at 100%, so using the a la carte restaurants meant going early if you did not want to end up waiting over an hour to get in. The rooms are not very soundproof, and we ended up waking up somewhere between 2 and 4 a.m. to the sounds of a baby crying in one of the rooms on either side of ours. The hotel is very family oriented, so there were children galore.

Nice resort Great if you have kids

It was a bit cold when we arrived, so we didn’t get the chance to use the pool, although some guests were still swimming. The hotel itself is nice and fairly basic, but the rooms are comfortable and well kept. We had a balcony with an ocean view, which made the stay very relaxing. The food was good overall. There isn’t a dedicated entertainment area, so any entertainment takes place on the stairs near the main bar. The spa was enjoyable, though some areas of the resort could use updating. We strongly recommend that you don’t book with Air Transat even the staff at the resort said they are not a great company, all of their complaints are from guests travelling with Air Transat.

Dreams cancun

The flight there no complaints. Kids club was awesome. We got priority seating and my son got a set of headphones and a colouring book for the flight. Our transfer to the hotel was brutally long. Although we only had two other families with us the driver drove half way dropped off a couple, drove all the way back towards the airport and then drove an extra half hour to our resort. Check in went well. The grounds were so so. While we were there I saw 3 cockroaches in the lobby. Room service was o [... read more]kay. Longer wait times and they got our order wrong a couple times. Dinner options were okay. Lots of kids options and my son ate well. The steak was horrible. I had to send it back twice. First time it was full of fat and the second time I asked for it medium and it came out blue. Wait service was good. Staff were all very friendly. The best Resturant by far was the Mexican place. Lots of options and really great atmosphere. Our room was good however we had to request cleaning and drinks in the mini fridge the entirety of our trip. The beach was nice. White sand and good control of the seaweed. The pools were great too however absolutely no seating. Families go out at 6am to reserve chairs. We had one chair for the three of us. Spa was incredible. I got a facial and fell asleep. Very very relaxing. Overall it was an okay stay. Good but not great.

Excellent Resort

The hotel/resort was excellent, the staff were extremely courteous and the facilities were immaculate as were our rooms. The specialty restaurants were/are exceptional and the buffet was very good. Overall the resort was definitely 5 ☆Star.

Enjoyable Resort

Friendly and helpful staff Clean, well kept grounds and facilities Nice variety of restaurants & menus 3 pools that accommodated young children, families and an infinite pool for adults only ample clean sandy beach chairs available on beach and at pools additional umbrellas would be nice frequent weddings on site overall pleasant trip, would return❤️

Impressed!

This resort is well maintained, super clean, and the staff was incredible. The specialty restaurants were delicious, with many to choose from. The Italian restaurant was our favorite, followed by the French restaurant. The grounds are kept meticulous, along with the pools and public washrooms. Overall, it was an excellent experience!

NOT A 5 STAR!!

Staff was fantastic, grounds very well kept, FOOD WAS LACKING, BUFFET WAS HORRIBLE. Alcohol selection was good to very good, but not exceptional. Would hesitate to visit another Dreams property since The Hyatt has become involved. Just not deserving of a 5 star rating.

Family friendly/not for the night owl looking to party

Beautiful location and views, I had a plunge pool room that was amazing with private access. Very great customer service, staff was friendly and always made sure the room was fully stocked and clean. The only issue i HAD WAS THAT THEY CALL IT ALL INCLUSIVE BUT THE CLUB AND ALL BARS CLOSE AT 1AM. I dont understand how it can be called all inclusive if u cant order or have access to liquor or event space after 1. the food was mediocre on the same level as Cuba, very bland no seasoning, i have had [... read more] better Mexican food in Toronto. They should offer authentic cuisine as an option instead of catering only to Americans. Location wise was not too bad but its not considered the hotel district so you dont have much options to leave the resort. its a good 20-30 min drive to get to the hotel district.

Fine resort

All was good except not enough staff at the reception and waiting times for some restaurant were too long, they need to fix this issue specially for high charges that is paid to stay at this hotel , staff was great

Good vacation

Spa and coco cafe were our highlights. The grounds were so beautiful and well kept. Would give them a perfect score but they didn’t want to clean our room or give us turn down service. Would still recommend it, we just got unlucky with the housekeeping assigned to us

Fantastic vacation

Resort was great. Staff was so friendly and helpful; hotel grounds were immaculate, covid protocol was diligently followed. Food was excellent. Beach and pool facilities were great. Would not hesitate to return.

Great experience!

Dreams Riviera Cancun was in the top of our vacations as far as total experience for a wonderful family destination vacation! It was beautiful and welcoming and had great amenities! Food was super with lots of variety! Service was top notch! The pools were tremendous and I am an ocean lover. We really enjoyed the evening entertainment in the lobby bar and that worked out so well being an open air environment and had space for the stroller we had plus a space for a little person to roam and  [... read more]dance! Terrible Experience

We had problems right from the start of the vacation……We were here celebrating our 12 years together so some what of a romantic vacation. We where sent to room 2217 the room was ok at the start we were not happy that there were 2 double beds as we had requested a king size bed, but we thought no worries this we can over look so we were excited to begin our vacation…..so we turned the air conditioner on to 18.5 as we like our room to be a little on the colder side when we are sleeping and g [... read more]etting ready. We headed out to have a look around and get something to eat. We got back to the room and the temperature did not move it was at 25.5. We called down to the front desk to get someone up to the room to look and they came up had a look and said it’s working so we thought ok great……we woke up in the middle of the night and it was still at 25.5 nothing had changed…..it was so hot in there we actually had to open the balcony to let the cool wind in so we could sleep. We went back to the front desk in the morning and explained the situation and had asked to be moved…….they said no worries we will send someone to have a look so back to the room we went and waited and waited finally someone came and again took a look and said it was working?? We thought ok lets go and get something to eat and come back to see if it is working. Once again it was still at 25.5. by this time we were starting to get mad as no one could seem to fix it and they never offered to move us like we had asked. So again we called down to the front desk and said it’s still not working…….so again they said they would send someone. So we waited AGAIN wasting more time of our vacation finally the same guy came did the same thing NOTHING and said its working by this time we were getting frustrated but thought lets get out to the pool and try and enjoy what was left of the day. We get back to our room and the temperature was still the same 25.5. By this time we are getting frustrated called again and the same guy came and check and asked us to wait he would call the room and get a supervisor to come so we stayed in the room and NO ONE CAME another night wasted waiting for someone. The next morning we called to let them know that we waited all night and no call or no one came……so they asked us what temperature we would like it set to we told them again we like to have it at 18.5, he said ok no worries it will be set to that. So we finally went out to enjoy our day as we had already missed out on 2 days of this. When we got back to the room it was still the same 25.5. By this time we are so mad but thought forget it what a waste of time. The next day we had met a couple and they had asked us how we liked the resort. We had mentioned the room and the that the air conditioner wasn’t working……they asked us what room we were in and we told them 2217. She laughed and told us that they were in that room when they first got there a week ago and had asked to move as they were having problems as well. Now this made me really upset as we wasted 3 days of vacation trying to get this fixed and you guys knew it was broken yet lied to us. So we went back to the front desk and said what the couple had told us and finally they agreed to move us. The new room was good still 2 double beds but the air conditioner was working so we were happy……we went out and enjoyed the rest of our day. Once we got back to the room we noticed a lot of noise coming form above, we didn’t really think to much as we thought the people were just loud but this was not the case it appeared that there was some construction going on which started very early in morning and went on very late it was constant banging and sounded like moving furniture. This started at 6:30 am and went till way past 11 pm EVERYDAY. So between the construction and the kids running up and down the hallway screaming and playing starting at 6:30 am we did not get much sleep or relaxation. We know that you can not control the kids as the parents should be parenting their own children but the kids were terrible……we were on our chairs by the pool and there were kids jumping on our loungers and our table while we were sitting there…….it was ridiculous everything got soaking wet from them it was terrible. We were told that one restaurant was closed everyday which was fine however this was not the case…..we tried the Mexican restaurant twice and both times it was closed. There was so many weddings there and so many areas blocked off it was terrible……I understand that weddings are there but you should not be blocking things off for the rest of the guests. We also had a soft football for the pool to toss around which we did the whole vacation except for the second last day we were told no throwing the football in the pool……how does that even work??? We had been using it the whole time……it made no sense to me and then about an hour later they had a football game in that same pool??? I have been to Dreams in Huatulco and loved it there. We have also been to Breathless in Cancun and Breathless in Punt Cana and both places were amazing. We are very disappointed with our whole vacation experience at this resort. We travel every year to an all inclusive resort and have never had these issues.

One of the best I have been at.

Loved the size not to big. Everything close. Very clean and great staff. A great variety of food at buffet with great service. Being close to the airport is one of the reasons we chose it. The fact that the children were not allowed in the hot tub was disappointing. It was a cool week and every time they went a staff member would ask them to leave. These kids were raised with a hot tub at home so with adult supervision the hotel should allow children access to it.

Amazing resort!

Everything about this resort was amazing - the service, the pool, the restaurants, the rooms, the staff. Adolfo, the bartender at the pool also took care of us all week with great service! Would definitely go back again!

Amazing Resort

Dreams is a quaint smaller resort with all the amenities that one could ask for. It still have a number of a la carte restaurants where the food is delicious. The grounds are immaculate with many winding paths to wonder. Would go back in a heart beat.

Best resort for a relaxing stay!

Our stay was amazing! The ambience at this resort is spectacular. The rooms, the view, the pools and drinks are all 10/10. The staff here are also so friendly and go out of their way to meet your needs- my favourites were Alejandro from the Entertainment staff and Enrique from the lobby bar. The rooms were always kept clean, housekeeping was twice a day. There is a lot of variety in the buffet restaurant, you will definitely be able to find something to eat there! Our server Morimoto was so nice as well. Also one of my favourite things about the buffet was that they had a huge variety of desserts and the cakes from their room service menu! The entertainment at this resort is very nice, they have something different everyday whether its a magic show, dance performance or fire show. Overall, I really enjoyed this trip it felt like paradise! Definitely would recommend this place to anyone planning on visiting Mexico!!
