Good value nice pool and great location

After everything is included with the package (flight, hotel, breakfasts) the value is exceptional. Room was clean, lobby bar and pool/rooftop bar and menu was great. The Havana location is second to none. This package is well worth the money

Perfect and great location

Had a great week with friendly staff, excellent rooftop pool to recharge and regen in the morning after late nights. My room was simple but very clean and bright and great AC and sleep and shower. Most oustanding was location. Right downtown/central and on the sea with famous havana malecon on our doorstep and everything Havana has rto offer within easy walking distance.. Would highly recommend for those looking fro great value, greta location and comfort. But especially the rooftop pool. Only material thing misssing was a room safe - at least in my room. Will defintely visit again.

Great Location

Hotel is definitely not a 5 star. Very plain. But....if you care more about location...this fits the bill. Walking distance to old Havana, the Prada great restaurants etc.Room was clean, price was right. Want a better hotel? Easy .. open your wallet..

Convenient Base for Exploring Havana

Pros: -within walking distance of major attractions in Old Havana (10 min to Fine Arts Museum, 12 min to Gran Teatro, 20 min to Cathedral) and Vedado (25 min to Napoleon Museum) -impressive view of Malecon waterfront -good buffet breakfast: omelettes made to order, counter of sliced fresh tropical fruits, breads, cheeses, etc. -good room cleaning service Cons: -furnishings are old -one of the two elevators was out of service during my visit

On the malecon

This hotel has a excellent view of the Malecon and old Havana. Itt is very dated but clean ..spent my initial nights here as I did not have much knowledge of what to expect in Havana Good location to get your bearings and start exploring old Havana

Very disappointed

I had been to Havana twice before so I have a good idea about the service Cuba generally provides to tourists. Hotel Deauville was a big disappointment. No toilet paper, cockroaches all over the beds, centipedes in the room. The breakfast wasn't great. Both selection but quality was poor. The hotel ran out of tea. Front desk was very slow. Great location!!! Hotel room was so dirty and had so many cockroaches that I rented a casa particular instead.

Excellent hotel and location

I was very pleased with the hotel and the service. I would also like to specifically thank Kristin Macdonald for her help, she was thorough and responsive to all my questions. I would and in fact will recommend her to friends and colleagues who might be looking for a travel agent.

Fantastic location right on the Malecon, Havana

We stayed at the Hotel Deauville for 5 days while in Havana. The hotel was perfect for our needs during our holiday. Good breakfast provided daily, close to the old city and right on the Malecon. Pillows were thin based on our standards, and one of the elevators frequently had some issues- it was the older of the 2 elevators. Staff were friendly, and our room was spacious with a balcony overlooking the Malecon and ocean. Overall a very good place to stay given it is a 3 star hotel.

Nightmare in paradise!

It was the worst hotel I ever stayed Very upset with my selection Very disappointed! For the amount of money that we spent I expected at least a better Service and a cleaner place!,i don't normally complain but was ridiculous it is not acceptable

the dinner was very unpleasant I did stop eating dinner even I paid with my trip package I have some pictures to prof I am not a pick man .The people that work the room and resption were good people ... The room was,excellent

Good value, great location

Hotel was what we expected for the price - knew was not 4 or 5 star so no surprises or disappointments. The location was superb, could walk to Old Havana, many restaurants, bars. We were able to change our room so could have a balcony which was more important than the updated bathroom on the upper floor. We were on the 10th floor overlooking an amazing view of the Malecon and fascinating rooftops. Staff was friendly and helpful. We only had breakfast there preferring to try different restauran [... read more]ts for dinner. The breakfast was typical - we opted for the fresh omelette, fruit & toast every morning. We had a great holiday.

For what you pay, it is fine

The location is great and no issues with breakfast and room service. We spoke to the staff in Spanish and have new clean towels, bed sheet no problem. For the price we pay, I think by Cuban standard, I find it o.k. except there is only one elevator working for so many floors is unsafe. The pillows can be improved on as they are so thin we had to fold up the blanket to get some height. I would return to the same hotel and ask for the rooms away from the male on due to traffic and noise. Thanks to [... read more] a previous comment posted and I stayed on the 4th floor and can manage to take the stairs in stead of waiting for the only elevator.

Nice location

Very convenient for the location, close to Habana Vieja. But the elevator is very often out of service. It happened maybe 10 times for a few hours during our stay (of 7 days). Not so funny when your room is at the 12th floor :-(

Hotel is no 3 star !!

Building is old, poor plumbing! No hot water in shower, even though hot water aplenty in sink right next to it. Low cold water pressure in sink and toilet, as result, toilet didn't flush properly Included breakfast buffet is good, but other meals in restaurant suspect .. wife got sick after first supper at hotel.

Hotel Deauville a disappointment

This hotel was a disappointment and I am surprised that it was even suggested that we stay there. When we arrived late on a Sat night there were people hanging around the outside of the hotel and in the lobby, very loud music was drowning out any other sounds, it was dark and smoky. Reception was indifferent and we were told they don't exchange money. Banks are closed on Sunday. There was no water in the room so fortunately they allowed us, after much discussion, to have a tab added to our room. [... read more] There are two elevators but only one works. The light was out in the hall to our room so we have to feel around in the dark to find the card access. Once in the room it was small, dingy, curtains were unhemmed and dragging on the floor, not hanging properly on the curtain rod. The room was clean but there was no where to put the luggage except on a chair or on the floor. The telephone in the room was not connected. We were told if there was a call for us they would come and get us. The bathroom was clean but there was no hot water, towels were not changed daily when we indicated that they were dirty. During our stay, we had two days with no water at all. The cleaning staff was friendly but they did not observe the 'do not disturb' sign and just walked in on us. We could feel the coils in the bed, pillows were flat, only one small blanket was available. The sliding door to the balcony did not fit properly so when the wind blew, it leaked so much that the curtains were blowing with the door locked. The pool was nice, music was very loud. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience and I would recommend that it not be suggested as a place to stay unless you want this sort of place.
