Wonderful Experience!

The resort is beautiful. It it being renovated as some indicators of age are visible if looked closely. 5/5 still for facilities. Food was really good even at the buffet. I was worried and got FC to get access to reservations and restaurants but wasn’t needed for our group's particular needs. Great Resort for Families

I travelled with my husband and another couple with a newborn. The staff were very friendly and super helpful. While we didn’t need entertainment for the baby, we noticed there were plenty of activities to keep kids occupied. We also spent some time on the adult side, which was pleasant and offered a good variety of events—creating a nice balance overall. The pools were great, with lots of seating available. I would avoid the Family Concierge pool, as it always seemed to be the busiest area.  [... read more]That said, I do wish there were more umbrellas for shade—it often felt like a scramble to find one, and they weren’t easy to move when needed. The beach was lovely, with plenty of seating and a volleyball court. There was some seaweed, but it was consistently cleared in the mornings and throughout the day, so it didn’t impact our experience much. If you upgrade to the Family Concierge, the beach chairs and service are noticeably better. That said, overall I don’t think the upgrade is worth it (we didn’t upgrade but did spend a day in the concierge beach area). The rooms were nice, with comfortable beds. I understand the family side is due for renovations, but even without a facelift, it was still very enjoyable. One tip: avoid a connecting room if you don’t need one—we had to switch after the first night because we could hear the family next door very clearly. The restaurants were decent overall, and the buffet was actually excellent. Agave stood out as the best restaurant on the property. We also visited the spa. The massages were fantastic, but the facilities didn’t quite meet expectations. You only get access to the pool, sauna, and steam room for one hour before your treatment, which doesn’t feel like great value given the cost. Westjet Vacations to Paradisius Playa del Carmen

Lovely naturally landscaped grounds with many pools and activities for our grandchildren who travelled on a different package. While we concerned at checkin that our different package meant that we couldnt have our meals together, everything worked out well in the end as we did not need the Family Concierge services. Westjet was more problematic, particularly the long waits for luggage and checkin at Cancun airport.

Have stayed in better

Beautiful resort! Food was mediocre. Did not appreciate having to pay extra for the good food. Wasn’t this supposed to be all inclusive resort? Inconsistent service in restaurants. Royal Hideaway next year, more expensive but far better food and a better beach.

9/10 Resort!

Positives: This hotel is beautiful and the property is extremely well cared for. The staff is very friendly and we had an amazing time here. We upgraded to La Perla with a swim out but because of the time of year it was very cold and the hotel accommodated our request to ditch the swim out for a regular adults side room. The playa del carmen side was beautiful and seemed like a great time but we really enjoyed our time at the adults side and the reserve package was worth every dollar. We staye [... read more]d majority of the time on the reserve and enjoyed the access to the special areas such as the restaurant and the private beach access. We also used the spa services at an additional cost and it was worth every dollar. Negatives: The food was great for breakfast and lunch but aside from the hibachi we found the food lacking for dinner. The reservations were easy enough to make but the food itself for dinner in our opinion was 5/10. You could for sure find something at the buffet but we were not very impressed overall at dinner. Another reason for lack of points is because of the steakhouse. The steakhouse is not included with the all inclusive and so you have to pay for everything at that restaurant. It was very annoying because dinner options were already not so great and it felt like a money grab to have to pay for the steak house. It would have been ok if it was apart of the all inclusive but had menu items for sale , however that was not the case. Overall the hotel was beautiful, the beach was lovely, the food was good enough, the rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff were incredible. The vibe was quiet with small bursts of excitement and a slightly older crowd on the adults side. We would for sure go again.

Amazing resort!

Just as described by my travel agent, Nicolle Kirk, it’s a fully renovated, luxury hotel. We loved our stay here and zero disappointments. Happy we booked the concierge as it helped us to feel extra relaxed. Thanks!

Luxurious Resort

This resort was out of this world...you name it all and it was 100/10. No complaints whatsoever about the services, resort, people, food, rooms, activities and the list goes on! By far the best resort I have been too in my life

No beach! Too much that’s not included!

Clean. Good service. Modern design. Food was just ok. Way too many items on menus are for extra charge! Too many areas, pools, restaurants, are off limits for families. Nicer areas were for adults only. Beach completely off limits and no one told us this until we showed up!!! After many attempts with the staff to even organize a one day trip to a nicer area of the beach, we were denied. At the very least we should have been told about the beach situation. This was a beach resort vacation with not beach!!!

Beautiful Resort

I found Paradisus to be a beautiful resort—very clean, well kept, aesthetically pleasing, friendly staff. Great amenities above and beyond restaurants (ice cream shop, Nespresso cafe, etc). My only complain is the food – most restaurants were good except for BlueAgave (a taco restaurant)—the food was absolutely terrible, and in some instances, completely inedible—it took over an hour for my party of 7 to be served and there were only 2 or 3 other tables at the time. Sol (steakhouse) was not included and was extra, which I found strange at an all-inclusive resort and the first time I've encountered that in 15+ years of travelling. Buffet food was good for breakfast, but lunch and dinner were almost inedible and not appealing. Undercooked burgers one day (yuck), stale items and/or seafood that had clearly been sitting under heat lamps for hours, etc. I was expecting better quality of food for the price of the resort. I'm a beach person, but there was so much seaweed, I couldn't get past it to get in the water more than a few steps. Probably why the pools (both family and adult only side) were so busy all the time and almost impossible to find chairs at. To actually secure a spot so I didn't have to compete with people playing the towel game at 6am every day, I ended up paying for a cabana for 2 days (annoying). But I spent a fair amount of time at the adult pool and there was always fun activities, swim up bar had great service, and the pool was large and clean. Rooms were big, relatively modern, and kept very clean. Bathrooms were beautiful, large and modern with a separate water closet (nice touch), a large shower with rain head, and huge jacuzzi tub. The only negative was the noise. The buildings are all tiled on the interior and therefore every noise echos throughout the 4 stories of rooms. We were near the elevator lobby and it was SO LOUD. There was a wedding while I was there one night and some guests must have been drunk because there seemed to be a loud fight and screaming/yelling from 10pm until well after 2am... ON THE FAMILY SIDE... WHERE PEOPLE HAVE YOUNG CHILDREN. I was shocked at the ignorance and complete lack of common courtesy by some guests to not yell and shout in the hallways. Lots of door slamming too at all hours of the day and night. Bring earplugs if you want to sleep. Overall, it was a great experience. Food could be better and more attention to noise reduction would be good.

Family Friendly Resort

Overall, we would give the resort a 3.5 out of 5. It's a smaller resort but we also felt the food suffered because of it. There was 1 small buffet which we didn't think was very good. We couldn't get reservations the first 2 days and got tired of eating every meal at the buffet and ordered room service for lunch the rest of the trip. The a la carte restaurants were ok, not great. The rooms were clean but showing their age and other areas of the resort also a bit run down (restaurant seats dirty, [... read more] automated toilets worked 1x during a week). The highlight for our toddler was the Aquazone and pirate ship pool. We had good weather for most of the trip and the beach was nice and clear. A little confusing which seating on the beach you could use. The entertainment was good and geared to kids (at least on the family side). Service was ok at buffets, better at a la carte but some restaurants a bit pushy trying to upsell. The spa was ok.

Paradisus Paradise Viva Mexico !

The Good: - Amazing staff - Great food - Nice facilities - Mangrove and cool critters The Bad - Very very noisy rooms on the family side - Some cocktails were Ok at best - Stinky toilet. Noisy plumbing - Mayan Riviera is very expensive including this resort.

Great family vacation

Traveled from the Dec 11th to the 18th. Airport arrival was terrible (2.5hr luggage wait) but clearly not the resorts fault. (Just a frustrating start) Traveling as a family of four. Wife, myself and 8yo / 6yo. We had family concierge swim out suite (room 2009) great location close to most things. Resort is easy to figure out and we were quickly navigating easily. We very much enjoyed the concierge service, Jessica looked after us very well. She had dinner reservations nightly and kept us  [... read more]up to date daily with the resort activities. All the dinners were great, we only ate at the buffet twice and found it small and not very good so we stuck with the other sit down breakfast/lunch options which were excellent. We never ran out of things to do. Only off site stuff we did was a walk into town for some sunglasses and the “free” trip to the ziplone/cliff jump that was included with the concierge package. Some things I wish I knew before hand. Set up WhatsApp before leaving. I tried to set this up while there on airplane mode but I needed cell service to activate WhatsApp. Without WhatsApp communication with your concierge is tough. We hadn’t gone south in 6 years. We plan to go again next year to likely the same resort and hopefully have Jessica as our concierge again.

A beautiful experience!

I truly recommend this beautiful resort. Everything was perfect. The food, the service, the rooms, the resort, all awesome and worthy of ever penny. Special thank you to Victor at the beach for all his help. Also, thank you to Danira for her kindness while serving us at the La Perla welcome reception coffee station. Paridusus is truly Paradise!!

Spectacular resort

Very service oriented. All staff were pleasant and helpful. Rooms, grounds, pools all very pleasing. The food and restaurant selections were fantastic! Check in/out was straight forward. Lots of areas to grab a cocktail.

Loved this resort!

This resort was absolutely beautiful and the staff was so accommodating and nice. The food was one of the best for all the resorts I have been to. Also loved the room service option. I would highly recommend!

Big Resort , good food , great service.

The room was good and clean , the bathrooms were good too. We had a gardenview suite which means there were unobstructed views of greenery. Food was good at the buffets and lots of variety. Spa service was amazing as my wife decided to get a massage , she was treated extremely well. The forest trail to the beach was very nice. Room service was decently fast and food was good .

Overall pretty great!!

The resort was great, overall! The water park and separate pirate ship pool for kids was awesome! The resort thought of all the little details for kids - popsicles, ice cream shop, kid-friendly food, awesome kids club with fun activities, etc. The beach was beautiful!!! We were able to walk to downtown Playa Del Carmen from the hotel which was nice. Food was decent.

Great trip

We loved the paradisis resort. Everything is super close and walking distance to the beach, pools, restaurants and room. We will definitely be back with our two kids. The one area that could use improvement is the entertainment. I was told by those in the adult section that there was more activities on our side and no shows or performances at night.

Amazing trip

The Paradisus was a great vacation. Our kids loved the water park and pirate ship and the grounds were extremely clean and well kept. The alcohol selection is next level and the restaurants were really good. The buffet was just ok nothing special. The restaurants made up for it. There were tons of activities for the kids to do as well and nightly entertainment for them. Overall we were very satisfied.
