For the money this is a wonderful resort

Just spent 2 weeks here. Lots of kids but we had a great time on the beautiful adult Hacienda side. Both pools were awesome. Quiet and plenty of drinks. The smaller buffet was so much better. We did spend a few days at the rooftop pool which was fine till we discovered the Hacienda pools. The Italian a La cart restaurant was excellent. They could use a few more a La carts. French was ok. Don’t know about the sea food as we don’t eat it. Constr'n never bothered us.

Awesome resort!

In spite of what happened here on February 22nd the staff stepped their game to accommodate all in lockdown. I felt for the staff as they couldn’t go home to their families. No complaints they took it in stride. Nicest people in the world! Never felt more safe and appreciated. Kudos to the Krystal Grand Puerto Vallarta. Excellent service from the kindest friendliest people. Thank you! ?

Disappointing Resort

Unfortunately this is not a 4 or 4+ stars resort. First there is a new hotel being built right beside the hotel - so it was loud during the day when construction was being done. Nothing was mentioned about this prior to booking. Our view was of construction. As well it appears the hotel is under renovation. Again no mention of this before travel. The lobby was filled with old couches and walled off where there is renovations going on. On Thursday, construction workers were tearing down walls u [... read more]p until at least 10 pm near the lobby bar - it was so loud. The rest of the week also saw construction being done in the lobby area which was loud and smelly. The food was okay but the buffet was limited. As a vegetarian I was hard pressed to find something to eat for a main. The staff around the pool and in the restaurants were great so no complaints there. The room was outdated but clean. There were challenges getting chairs by the pool and you had to be there by before 8 am to get a chair. Overall disappointing and would not recommend this resort.

Krystal Grand - Hcienda

We travelled to Puerto Vallarta the last week of January to celebrate my 70th birthday. This was our first time in that town and we stayed at the Krystal Grand Hacienda. The room was very spacious and clean, we had little issues with the overhad shower dripping if you used the wall shower but that's minimal. THe rounds were impeccable. The staff were very helpful and courteus! The food was good and we enjoyed the a la carte restaurants, Italian being our favourite (there were 8 of us there to [... read more] celebrate my birthday and they put us in the most beautiful room in the restaurant ) followed by the French and the Seafood restaurans. It can be a little tricky to book the restaurants but you can do it online. The buffet is okay, you always find something you like. The pool area in the hacienda is nice and quiet being on the adult side there isn't much acitivities and you have to get up early to get chairs but we seem to always found a couple. If you want more action you want to be on the family side. I find the hacienda secluded from the rest. I missed looking at the sea and being on the beach so we would go spend some time on the other side to enjoy the view. That's my only negative. but the place is close to shopping if you feel like it. A little out of the way of the Malecon but you can take the bus for 5 pesos if you are a senior otherwise it is 10 pesos. Finally, I will talk about the transfer from and to the Airport. From the Airport we had no issues. Going back to the Airport was another story, we left on the 30th of January and there was a protest scheduled that day and there road closures so the bus couldn't make it to the hotel.. so we we told that were two options, one take a cab who also couldn't come to the hotel or walk to the closest Mall (Wal-Mart) 20 minutes walk to catch the bus who was supposedly waiting for everyone. We go there and there were no bus, we waited awhile still no bus. We were told to walk another half kilometer and we would find cabs. Well we didn't and at that point if was another 50 minutes walk to the Airport. I stopped and asked a Police Officer where we could find a cab and by chance there was a 12 passenger van going by at that time and the cop ordered the man to take us to the Airport , we could only fit 10 with all the bags and sadly the other 4 had to walk the rest. We were not impressed by the fact that Nexus who is responsible for the transfers was not more organized. I don't know if I would go back to that hotel but it was not bad for our first visit.

Awesome place

We had a great relaxing safe time Resort was very great with accommodation Great staff Good food Awesome Service Would recommend And will probably be back Cheers Cleaning staff were incredible and should be rewarded for great service hard work

Ok

The hotel was fine. But it was the most dis-organized resort we’ve ever been to most workers wouldn’t speak English. When we were leaving because of a protest we had to walk 60 min to airport not their issue but did not help us to get to airport

Meh

The beach was good. Be careful if there are big waves. The pool was ok but we are ocean goers. The service on the beach was very good “thank you Willian”. There is only the lobby bar after 8:00 pm and the entertainment is in the lobby. The buffet was good and had lots of selections. The al a carts were varied, both types and quality of food preparation. The Mexican was excellent of course. The Italian was ok. The French was awful and the chefs there should be ashamed. We didn’t get to the seafo [... read more]od. Check in was good, and the room was large and comfortable. There is construction next door and we knew that so no bid deal. Overall we were satisfied with our week stay but would probably stay elsewhere when we return to PV.

Good time!

This was our 5th time at this hotel. The check in process was very smooth. The rooms are always kept clean although there were a couple of days when the cleaning staff were very late to clean our room. The restaurants are very good, from the buffet to all the a la cartes. The french was our favourite. There are always lots of choices at the buffet especially at breakfast and lunch. A special shout out to Alejandro for always greeting us with a smile and making great custom eggs and omelet [... read more]tes. There is construction of a new resort on the south side of the hotel so noise may be an issue going forward. The staff are always very helpful and with a smile. Our main complaint is, again, the shortage of umbrellas and loungers on the beach. It was a problem every day. Overall, we had a lovely time and would return.

We enjoyed ourselves.

This is a smaller resort, but it is close to many things and beautiful view of the ocean. It was quieter which was great for us as we brought our baby. Our room was clean, food was hot, drinks were cold. Had some extremely hard working staff. We enjoyed our stay.

Amazing resort!!!

We were a party of four and just returned from a 7 day stay at the Hacienda side of the resort. We are very pleased with our stay and the resort exceeded our expectations based on some of the negative reviews. Our favourite breakfast was on the hacienda side Buffett where we received amazing service and delicious breakfasts. Our favourite a la carts was the French restaurant. We had no difficulty booking our dinners via the website. The sushi restaurant was a real treat and we really enjoyed the [... read more] pool that overlooked the resort and ocean on the top floor. We would definitely recommend this resort

Pleasant Resort

On the whole this resort is fine, given the price we paid. Having said that, there is room for some improvements. There were not enough loungers on the beach. In order to secure a spot, you need to be saving your place by 7:30. There was one day during the week where a section of our beach area was roped off as people from a cruise ship were using that space. This was frustrating as it meant even fewer beach umbrellas, loungers and space. When we inquired as to this inconvenience, the response [... read more] was, "it's only for the day". The room was fine. We encountered an issue with the towels being taken and not replaced, it was necessary to contact housekeeping to bring us fresh towels. Upon arrival, there was not a safe in the room. Both of these concerns were addressed quickly. The first night, there was no hot water. This, again was fixed in a timely manner. The food in the buffet was good. There were times when certain items would run out and should have been replaced sooner. Italian night saw one person preparing individual dishes, as a result the line was long and it took some time to get served. Perhaps having more than one person/station would have made for faster service. We enjoyed our stay, if someone asked for a recommendation, I would say, keep your expectations in line with the cost of this vacation. As for us, we would not return to this resort.

1 week at Krystal Puerto Vallarta

relatively small resort. easy to get around as we travelled with people who had mobility issues.We hadgreat views from our oceanfront rooms on the 8th floor. The food was pretty good on the buffet,and we enjoyed the specialty restaurants. The staff was amazing, hard working and friendly. The only problem we encountered was the lack of lounge chairs poolside.

Great Resort

We loved this medium sized resort, the location was wonderful. All of the hotel service staff were amazing! We did have a hurricane warning while we there, was wishing the stafff would have been more informative to the guests on where to go and what to do.

Great Time!

This was our 4th visit to this hotel. We spent 2 weeks at the Krystal Grand in November, 2024. We chose that date so we could take part in the Day of the Dead festivities and they did not disappoint! We had a really good experience from check in to restaurants. At check in, Lucero was super helpful in having our room changed to a room with 2 double beds. And the front desk manager, Luci was also very helpful. We really enjoy the buffet here. We are always able to find lots of choices  [... read more]and foods that we like. I love the breakfasts: omelettes and eggs made to order and a great selection of side dishes. A special shout out to Miguel and Fernando who always made sure we were well looked after. The soups at lunch are wonderful! We highly recommend them. Also, the Mexican night tacos were excellent. Our favourite a la carte restaurant was the French. Very good. Our only complaint would be that the beach needs more chairs and umbrellas so that we wouldn't have to go down at 7 am. Overall, we had a lovely trip and, in fact, we enjoyed it so much we're going back in February!

Good Resort

This is a good resort with some exceptions. The grounds are pretty but the palms were in need of some TLC. There are not enough beach loungers and the umbrellas are in very poor condition. The ocean view rooms are very nice with good housekeeping service. This resort has one of the best buffet restaurants that we have experienced at all inclusive resorts, including 5 star resorts we've been to. The a la cartes are also quite good, especially the French. More evening entertainment would [... read more] be a good idea. It was more diverse when we were there in January. Overall, I would recommend this resort.

Great staff!!

We were here a year ago and the food has dropped a level. Its still good but not fantastic anymore, corners were cut. We stayed in the hacienda and it was really nice...and quiet. The pool area of the hacienda was a tranquil experience. Staff are very accommodating and so friendly.

Wonderful Time

This was our 2nd time to this resort. Glad we came back as it was just as amazing as it was last year. The rooms, grounds, beach, pool, and service were all wonderful! The staff are all so friendly, helpful and courteous. I have recommended this resort to numerous friends and family. You won't be disappointed if you prefer a smaller quiet resort. The rooftop patio has a beautiful view and infinity pool. See you again soon Krystal Grand!! :)

Great Resort!

Rooms are beautiful and well appointed, nice location. The food and service were excellent. All of the staff were pleasant and accommodating from the food service to our rooms completely cleaned and stocked daily. I can’t say enough!

Could have been great...but wasn't.

Hotel grounds are lovely and staff are very pleasant. The food is one major weak spot. One cannot get butter for one's bread anywhere...only margarine! Always a shortage of bacon at the breakfast buffet, though the lady cooking eggs and omelets was efficient, pleasant and cheerful. Despite all of our strawberries, blueberries and blackberries coming from Mexico at this time of year, none found their way to the resort. The "fish of the day" at the French restaurant was tilapia...give me a bre [... read more]ak! Portion sizes at the specialty restaurants were generally scant and the quality of the food was not high. Chicken was almost all dark meat. The so-called "steakhouse" had a small filet (maybe 3 or 4 ounces) as the only steak on the menu. We have been here several times before and stay on the adult side at the Hacienda. Sitting at the pool was relaxing until they suddenly cranked up disco-style Euro-Tech boom-boom-boom music at 1130 am onwards...destroying our peace and enjoyment. It took many of us complaining to management numerous times before the music was taken down... after three days of squawking. They can play that crap on the the family side...this was supposed to be an ADULT resort. Our room was great, the location is also good but we will be going somewhere else on next year's trip to Puerto Vallarta.

A Lovely Vacation!

We stayed at the Hacienda (adults only) side of Krystal Grand. This hotel was not perfect, with the reservation system still a work in progress (while we were there, showing up at 5:15 PM to line up to reserve a place in 1 of 3 evening seatings, worked well for us), and my fellow tourists hogging loungers and chairs with towels for many hours. As well, the housekeeping can come anytime up to 5 PM, which was not always convenient for us. However, we found that the resort's benefits far outweig [... read more]hed these minor inconveniences. The resort's location is convenient, close to the airport and Marina, and a short Uber ride to the Malecon and Old Town. There is a nearby supermarket within easy walking distance (Chedraui). We absolutely loved the food (we could not understand some of the prior reviews--different tastes, perhaps?), both in the buffets and the a la Carte restaurants. There were many healthy and tasty options, including delicious soups, salads, cerviches, and main dishes with fish, chicken, pork, and beef. The room included a daily stocked minibar with beer, water, and soft drinks, a huge shower, quiet A/C and fan, large safe, satellite TV with many English channels including Hockey Night in Canada, and a very comfortable bed and linens. The pools on the Hacienda side were relaxing, with plenty of shade available as well as sunshine. We also enjoyed the views from the resort side's rooftop sushi bar. The room key on our wrist bands was super convenient, and staff were very friendly and helpful. To obtain a chair or lounger, ask the towel concierge (do not take chairs from the nearby restaurant); the concierge may remove towels from unoccupied loungers (as for the people who later returned, after we had been enjoying them for over 90 minutes, I advised them to speak to the concierge). On our last day we were still allowed to use the services after we vacated the room, enjoying lunch and refreshments before our wristbands were cut off before our transfer arrived. Wonderful value! We hope to come again!
