Wonderful Experience!

Overall the energy of the staff and resort is really positive. Whatever you need you can truly get. Even if food is an issue. O matter what you can find something that will be great. Having an ice cream shop is absolutely fantastic!!! The entertainment was top notch. The breakdancer whom is freelance, bboy90 was amazing!!! The service at the front amazing. We brought tips for the gardeners and cleaners doing such a great job. Everyone was so pleasant and grateful. We would have stayed forever.

Second time around

The hotel was much the same, nice, and for us good with not much walking required. Very clean and the grounds well maintained at least where everyone walked. Rooms could use some updating but were kept fairly clean. Not very busy when we went and for those who choose to stay home maybe good as it was that very cold week but staff attempted to keep us busy anyway. Not always easy wrapped in a blanket. We did have one incident that we didn't think customer service was wanting to deal with.

Great place for a winter break!

Close to airport, Great beaches. Not a mosquito seen when I was there last week, Very friendly & helpful staff. Ample & decent Cuban food. Comfortable room. Excellent value for your money. Thank you Paraiso!

Beautiful Beach

We just returned from Playa Paraiso Of course the Staff were amazing kind and curtious. The beaches are gorgeous lots of shells on the beach. The rooms are beginning to show thier age but we know Cuba is having a hard time . I am not going to complain this is our second time at Paraiso and we won't go back untill updated but thats ok we loved it there

I LOVED THIS RESORT!

This was my first time in Cuba, and my first time at a resort. From the bus ride to the resort, I experienced the friendliness of the Cuban people. As I waited to check-in I was offered a drink in the lobby. I was soon whisked away in a golf cart to my room by a lovely gentleman who took my bags up to my suite, which had a lovely ocean view. The suite was airy and extremely clean and I had plenty of hot water. I changed and headed out to explore the resort. I soon found at the bar that Pedro and George also made an excellent cappuccino in the mornings. There was plenty of food to choose from at the buffet, and in the morning, fresh omelets where being made, as well as fresh papaya every morning. The whole resort was buzzing with staff, busy cleaning, from the bathrooms to the grounds. The beach was beautiful and welcoming. My maid Jraida was extremely efficient and charming, and every day I looked forward to see what kind of lovely towel design was left on my bed and adorned with hibiscus flowers. Overall, everything was perfect for this solo traveler!

Bad Resort

I think this the last time when i go to cuba Evreithing.it was so por ..and cheap food ...drink No hot water The room is disgusting All furnirure is broken One week i eat just beef No chicken.no fish no pork Is like a garbage all this resort

Great resort

I found this resort well maintained, very friendly and accommodating. When we first arrived we were put in a garden view room when we had paid for ocean view. When we brought it to their attention they rectified it and compensated us with a private on the beach dinner. The food that they were serving was tasty, I was never hungry from lack of food. The only complaint I would have is the beds are very uncomfortable. All in all it was a great resort and I would definitely return for another trip.

11th Visit

After so many visits, I obviously love the place. It had been a year and a half since my last visit, so there was definitely change in staff, which I expected in Cuba these days. Some of my favorites are still there and always treat us with such genuine kindness. My favorite lobby bartender, Marcos, who has been there since my first visit. Along side him now is Liesy, who is also a great bartender and always so friendly! As it was slow season, there was a very small buffet set up down at the Portugese a la carte. We aren't fussy, so it was fine, but not as much selection as usual. We were in building 3 this time, and the room was ok, getting to be a bit worn over time. My only real 'complaint' which we in fact did not complain about, was that the water was barely warm, so showers weren't enjoyable. Overall, another great visit to Playa Paraiso! We'll be back again.

Had an amazing week.

Been to this hotel several times. Its under renovation but barely any noise. Not a big variety of food but we can always find something to eat. We were traveling with a 8yrs old. She enjoyed the pizza.The room is spacious, clean, great water pressure. The people are friendly especialy Annelise my go to person for anything we need she does magic. Exceeded all expectations — I’ll be back!

We came with pretty much no expectations, just hoping for some sun and beach time — and ended up getting so much more. The beach is absolutely stunning: picture-perfect blue water and soft white sand. The food was great — not Michelin-star level, but genuinely tasty with a wide variety. There were always fresh salads, fruits, something grilled, and lots of options at every meal. Even with fewer guests, the team put on fun, creative shows every night — live music, games, mini disco, and great performances that ended with dancing. Way better than the usual recycled Michael Jackson shows I’ve seen at other Cuban resorts! Staff were warm, helpful, and made the stay even more enjoyable. I’ve been to other resorts in Cuba, but this one truly exceeded expectations. Highly recommend, and would happily return!

Avoid Russian owned hotel

This hotel resort was the worst and I've been to cuba many times. The Safes never opened, the door locks and key cards dont work as batteries are all dead. The food was lacking and the pizza place wasn't open. The snack bar menu stated fries and poutine all they had was ham sandwiches. There was no coffee bar open and the cappuccino was not good. We were told by all staff that Russians are coming to buy the resort May 30th. One Russian tourist had a fight with his wife at bar and broke her  [... read more]leg. Another Russian tourist grabbed a buffet worker by the face demanding she do what he wanted. 2 Russians drowned at the resort next door for not obeying ocean flags...my trip was a disaster. The staff are super friendly. Sadly I fed alot of them as they are not allowed in buffet until before or end of guest use. And they get fed the crap spaghetti. Amazing resort

My family and myself had a fantastic week! The grounds were lush with lots of colour, beach was well maintained and plenty of lounge chairs! The entertainment staff were fabulous and made us all wanna dance!

Such a pretty place !

This was my first trip out of the country, it was an awesome experience! The people and staff were beyond friendly , , my room was very comfy , the food was delicious ! Thank you for everything! I’ll return someday .

Resort

drastically needs repair--from the grounds to bathroom fixtures. Front lobby was nice. Beach--stunning. Difficult to find a chair daily as most broken. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Using bathroom tissue for napkins for 4 days out of 7 (one slice). My handle in the tub broke the first day when I was using it-thankfully the housekeeper got a person to re-attach it right away--not very secured--! My toilet did not flush properly-I had to use a cup and water to fill the tank every time. Not [... read more]hing was done when I reported this to the front desk. TV poor reception with minimal english channels. Staff was minimal-except the day some people came to review the property-as we heard it was up for sale. Liquor was poor quality with no option to purchase a decent brand. Would not stay there again and pay >$1,200 for the week

Waste of money

Never go again. This is not a 4 star resort. Does not accommodate to handicapped People. No phone service in room. Internet was poor and had to log in every day. I would not recommend this resort but this is my opinion.

Definitely not a 3 or 4 star !

To start with. The people are amazing minus the girls at the front desk. We had a great welcome and check in. But then the trouble started. We had 3 rooms and ind room flooded out coming out of wall. We asked for another room as we couldn't sleep in 3 inches of water. It took us 2 hours to finally get another at midnight. Lots of eye rolling and negativity. Then next day customer service offered us 2 2 suites and the 2nd room had flooded throughout day. So again move. Finally got suites and a 3 [... read more]rd room flooded this time through air conditioner vent. Our safe didn't work. So carried money and passports on us. We never got the free rum promised as air canada has stated. The 2 suites were without any water for 2 full days along with all rooms in that building. Finally water came on but cold only. The last room we were moved into a ocean view basic but no hot water for 2 days in that other building. Everytimexwe went to desk it was promises of tomorrow and nothing. We watched many people complain. One guy was 4 days with no water in his room. The food was good and plenty of, the pool was good and quiet and beach beautiful. They do not chsnfe your bedding at all in the 8 days and you also do NOT get fresh towels ever. We used the same towel for 8 days. The coffee shop never ever opened when we were there and the one restaurant al la carte never opened either. They had wild boars running around at night. Entertainment was good and drinks were okay. I never complain about food or drink as you expect that as CUBA. We asked for all 3 rooms in same building but never ever got and we had requested thru trip central. We made do without buns, bread, or any rolls for 4 days as they didn't have but again cuba so it was fine. All in all we survived other than the 3 different rooms we had to change 3 times each. The girls at the desk need some coaching how to treat customers and quit with the attitude and broken promises.

Overall good, but bathrooms need major overhaul

Buffet was decent, but after a few days could be a bit repetitive. Overall the resort was a nice getaway. Good pool, good beach. I saw a stingray, crabs, and a number of kinds of fish while swimming fairly close to shore. Goggles are a must! Lots of friendly cats wandering around the resort that you can befriend while visiting. The room was "cheap motel" quality for the most part. An ok but not great bed, quesetionable freezer, and old furniture. Adequate for a budget vacation, but not luxu [... read more]ry for sure. The worst part of the whole experience was the bathroom. It had quite a bit of water damage, and smelled of mold. I kept the door closed to the washroom to avoid stinking up the rest of the room. If the bathroom was renovated to avoid leaks and mold issues, I wouldn't really have any complaints about the whole experience. Everything else was good enough, considering it isn't a very expensive resort.

Amazing Resorts

I would recommend this hotel to anybody. Staff are amazing, the beach is beautiful, the resort itself is clean. The restaurant is always on time to open. The cappuccino is great. Small things but it count.

Great resort!

We just recently went to this resort from January 4-11, 2025. Everything at the resort was great. We didn’t have any shortages of food at the buffet, the maid service did well and always replaced our toilet paper, fresh towels, and water bottles. (Don’t drink the tap water. Use bottled water to brush your teeth so you don’t get sick) The fridge was not stocked with anything. We didn’t use it. We really enjoyed the other food options besides the buffet like the pizza that is down by the beach, t [... read more]he fresh tacos right on the beach, and the fish and chips, which is fried fish and plantain chips at the beach bar. The lobby in the evening was always very lively with music. The pool had music and dancing every day as well. They did entertainment shows about every other night. We also recommend checking out Playa Pilar, which is about 40 minutes from the resort on a bus. We did an excursion at Playa Pilar which was $40 per person and you go on a boat you go snorkelling and you get a lobster lunch on a private island. It was awesome! Chat with the front desk on how to know which bus to take. We also checked out a restaurant off resort called Lenny’s. It was a great lobster dinner with a beautiful view oceanside. We enjoyed the options at the 24 hour snack bar (chicken sandwich, tuna, plantain chips, hot dog, hamburger, sometimes fries, sometimes sweet potato chips) The snack bar made the best lattes! The weather was a bit breezy and fresh so you needed a light sweater in the evening, but overall everything was great. The staff was friendly. The only thing to keep in mind is to bring toilet paper or wipes with you as the lobby washrooms don’t always have toilet paper so it’s good to be prepared!
