grounds and public areas excellent , food buffet for breakfast lacks variety , lunch buffet Ok evening buffet hit and miss , deli quick bite and Italian and Asian restaurants very good . Amazing Resort, will be coming back!

This resort was absolutely amazing. From the staff, to the hotel rooms, to the food/drinks and service. It was my boyfriend’s first time in Mexico, and made his week, we both were amazed. It helps that the weather was beautiful as well! We will definitely be returning! Also the best beach location in my opinion. Love that they have that barrier rocks to slow the waves down.

Amazing Beach Reaort

The beach was spectacular. White sand, clear turquoise waters, warm. Chairs and beach umbrellas were great. The hotel was nice, clean, and restaurants and food very good. The altitude building was amazing, the main building a little older and more basic. Pools were a little cold, but very nice. Overall, if you are looking for an amazing beach and nice resort, this is a great choice.

Great smaller resort

Kyrstal Grand Cancun was an excellent smaller resort for a graduation trip with my daughter. The restaurants do not require reservations which is a huge plus for us, the food in the specialty restaurants and the buffet was diverse, hot, fresh and plentiful. the bars provided an good range of alcohol and spirits. Service was excellent, the servers at the restaurants and bars was fast and provided with a smile. Rooms were dated, but clean and large. Only downfall was the room air conditioning was preset to 21.5-22c, no matter what temp you chose on the thermostat. Throughout the resort, the a/c wasnt very strong or cold. Pools were small but clean, lack of umbrella's/shade by the pool was a negative. Beach was stunning, stayed during a sargassum influx, and they worked daily to keep the beach cleaned. Ocean was much calmer in the cove in front of the resort compared to down the beach. Beach loungers and palapa's were plentiful and easy to find a spot every day. Evening entertainment was small but suitable. Dont miss the sunday night beach BBQ and fire show! it was amazing, as was the mexican night buffet outside. Overall a wonderful stay

Food sucks, goodluck finding a beach chair

The buffet was ahh, the same shit every day basically, got sick of it pretty fast, same with the restaurants. The Chinese restaurant was okay until I saw roaches going under the floors outside it. The pools are disgusting, you can see the oil floating on top and the pool floor felt oily too (not enough chlorine idk). The beach chairs are limited, and finding a shady spot is difficult. Awesome resort!

We were pleasantly surprised with this resort. After reading some very negative reviews, we were very happy with our stay - the staff was beyond friendly and was very good to us. Food was great!! The beach was incredible...one of the best in the area from what we saw on our travel thru the week. We stayed in the Altitude tower - our room was beautiful and clean. Jahir the bartender provided great service as well as Zacarias in the Risoto restaurant. The manager in the Risotto (sorry forgot hi [... read more]s name) was always accommodating. These guys know how to work and are so friendly. I have zero complaints on this place - would definitely come back again. Kudos to all the staff that worked very hard all week. Krystal not 100% Grand

2 banks of elevators and on each one 1 elevator was down so you can wait a while ... Our room had no hot water until 430 in the afternoon and it was only for about 30 mins ,.. I told the staff every day and they did nothing except try to sell me another trip from the npbooking team every day !!!! No chairs unless you are up at 630 and claim one ... entertainment was the same show every night , myans blowing shells for 40 mins every night .... Amazing trip!

My partner and I spent 7 days over the Christmas break at Krystal Grand Cancún and it was absolutely amazing! Both of us are vegan and the staff were so accommodating and prepared special meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We never went hungry and were completely satisfied with the food options Jacobo prepared for us. The restaurant supervisors, Luisa and Josias took very good care of us and were attentive to all of our needs and dietary restrictions. We loved seeing them each day. You could [... read more] tell the chefs took pride in the challenge to create vegan meals that were high end and complex, and every meal was different than the last. Each meal had a protein which historically was a challenge for us when attending other resorts. The service was very good all around, room was beautiful and the beach was clean. 10/10 would recommend and definitely would return.

Great location

The hotel is solid 4 star, great location and beautiful beach. Room had odor and could use some upgrades but everything works fine. Service was excellent at most restaurant except the beach. Specially the buffet, they were so accommodating and helpful with all our request. Thank you to Luisa she really took care of our family. She made sure she checked up on daily, and requested special food for our toddler who wasn’t feeling well. We can’t thank her enough. Room for improvement - the hotel  [... read more]needs better entrainment, felt dead compare to any other hotels we have been. And better desert selection and more tropical fruits options. We will def come back to this place and recommend it to others.

Great beach

Beach was beautiful, hotel older, air conditioning broke down for a couple of days, Staff was great and supported us to find a different room and provided a fan. Food good service. Staff were great even without tipping.

Poor resort

Worst food ever. Worst service ever. Treatment of guests is atrocious. Half the time only 1 of 4 elevators was working the whole week. All inclusive package doesn't allow you to use adult only pool. They wanted extra $$. Beach is amazing just shame about the resort

Awesome stay!

This resort was awesome! Not too busy, amazing beach, incredible employees who went above and beyond. Food and drinks were great! The only con was the shower did not get warm or hot. I can over look a warm shower for all the pros this resort offered.

Beautiful Place

This hotel was great. Wonderful location right on the beach. The buffet was great, good food and lots of choice. We weren’t too happy with the restaurant Risotto, won’t go there again. Staff was amazing and the hotel and grounds were kept clean. Highly recommend this hotel and we would definitely go back.

Great Time in the Altitude Tower!

Great time! We stayed in the Altitude Tower Oceanfront suite 6th floor! We were very happy with our room, wonderful view, very clean and comfortable. Spent a few days hanging out at the infinity pool and a couple of days on the beach. Both places provided great views, and excellent food and drink service. Would have loved a little more entertainment, the best evening was Mexican bingo. Got to make some new friends and had some laughs. Other nights the music is too loud to talk to anyone and soci [... read more]alize. Best drinks were in the Altitude Bar by Jahir and Ivette. Staff that made our vacation outstanding were Jahir, Ivette,Celerino infinity pool,Luis on the beach. Hervi and Ishmal at Ayami,Daniela and Pedro at Risotto. And Reyna our housekeeper wonderful smiles and laughs. We found the alcohol watered down and I didn't enjoy the wine. But would return for the beach and the staff.

Good resort

The beach is breathtaking. White sand, clear water, no vendors. Lots of chairs if you are there early. Locals are on the beach also but don’t use resort chairs. Hotel overall was good. Small resort, lots of pools, but lacked entertainment. The staff are very friendly and the drinks are very good Rooms are clean and cleaned daily I recommend ocean view altitude building.The breakfast was good and there is a bar in the building You need to reserve restaurants between 9-10 am daily w [... read more]ith long line up to get a reservation booked. I prefer to just walk up when I am hungry. The buffet was small, was almost all Mexican food and service was lacking. You needed to find staff to get water or cutlery. It’s a short walk to the market, grocery store, restaurants and bars. We felt safe off of the resort. Very long bus ride to Plays del Carmen. But a short walk to get a ferry to Isla Mujeres which we enjoyed and rented gulf carts to see the island.

Disappointed

Krystal Grand Cancun-Altitude Tower (Upgraded) Other buildings are older and outdated. Altitude tower was nice. The beach was absolutely perfect. The pools were good, and the drinks were decent. The food was by far the worst I have had at an all-inclusive. Keep in mind that I am not fussy, and I have been to several resorts. There were very few a-la-carte options; Asian food was okay. Altitude guests did have a private breakfast sit-down meal, which was actually really good, with lots to select from. Room service was available (and free) to have things like burgers and nachos. This was helpful when I was tired of the limited restaurants and buffet selection. The rooms were clean and comfortable. There was very limited entertainment, which was surprising to me. The first few days, there was no radio playing music anywhere. Then, it seemed on day 4 of 7, they started having a bit of music by the pool. There was only one show (Mayan theme) in the entire 7 days. I found we needed to go off the resort for any entertainment. The location was great; it was in the heart of downtown Cancun and within walking distance of many great spots. It is a family resort with adult-only areas, and small children are everywhere. Small kids were even sitting up at the bar I would not return to this resort unless there were some changes. I honestly hope to hear changes made someday, and I would reconsider. I am not the person who typically makes complaints, so don't think I am another person who just likes to complain. I am purely being honest. If I had to rate this resort: Food 3/10 Cleanliness 10/10 Entertainment 2/10 Drinks 7/10 Beach 10/10 Location 10/10

Mostly a fantastic experience

We really loved our Oceanview suite in Altitude building, from March 30-April 9th. 10th floor provided an amazing view of the increadible beach and turquoise water. Resteraunts were all great and staff were even better. Our favorite was Risotto, but also loved Ayami, both from menu or tepanaki table. The staff really made the trip, even better. We did have conerns with the lineup to make reservations, every morning, however, told a new online system was to be launched any day, so hopefully this will improve for future quests. I chose yo get up at 6:30 every morning to secure good free lounge chairs, with palapa every morning. I suggest you bring some identifiable beach clips to put on your towels. I do recommend Altiture building, as elevators both work and are quick. Updated rooms. Good air-conditioning, robes, updated amenities such as coffee bar and tiloiletries. We are in early 60's but any age not caring about next to no entertainment, would enjoy. We like a quiet night, following g dinner and a few drink. Lots of entertainment nearby if interested. I feel this cody resort on best part of the beach gave us good value for the great price we paid!

Amazing resort

the hotel was amazing, the food was always fresh and good staff friendly, beach wonderful would give 10 stars for all my trip honestly couldn’t choose a more beautiful place thank you would recommend highly.

Amazing Beach!

The beach was absolutely stunning! The beach service was second to none! The rooms were clean and the cleaning crew was great! We knew going in about the line up for a la carts and we got 3 days booked with them. The buffet was good, always had a mixture of food and lots of fresh fruit! The drinks were amazing and they weren't shy with the amount of alcohol! Super friendly staff and the location to shopping was like a 5 minute walk! The pools were great and so was the swim up bar! Overall the resort was great but I highly suggest reading reviews because they will tell you what to expect! Not bad but not great!

The Krystal Grand could use some TLC. The room was as basic as they come with plugged sink and shower and lights that didn’t work. The door was found unlocked more than once as the door needed to be pulled extra hard to latch. The cleaning ladies clearly did not pull hard enough at least 3 times as we came back to un unlatched door. The hotel was very loud and echoed from the lobby bar. ( we were on the ninth floor) there are 4 elevators with only two kind of working. One of the two got shut  [... read more]down several times and even semi trapped patrons having to be removed by a ladder we were told. Food in the buffet was okay but the same every night. The A la cartes were delicious especially the Japanese restaurant:) service was good overall around the pool and the place was clean. The activity staff were nice enough but definitely not overly motivated to get people involved in there small pool games. Very minimal activities going on and no real entertainment at night other than a couple of short dancing shows. Overall, I would not return to this hotel unless some upgrades were done and a few changes made.
