Royalton Habana: Don’t do it.

It’s not lost on me what the Cuban people are going through and this review is in no way a reflection of the staff. That being said, it’s disgraceful what this hotel charges and how they claim to be a 5 star hotel. The pool was ice cold, and there was often no clean towels. The coffeemaker in the room never had coffee available and no power point to plug it in. It’s like it was there for decor. I have a laundry list of issues from my stay and I understand the socioeconomic issues Cuba faces, but please don’t stay here. If you must travel to Havana, please stay at a private residence. You’ll have a much better experience and potentially save hundreds of dollars and you’ll actually support the Cuban people. This hotel was a joke.

Roc Barlovento: Beautiful resort

Simplicity at it finest, I loved it. The people are friendly and helpful. The scenery, breathtaking lots of coconut trees, short walk to the ocean. Nice walk to the craft market, I walked to Santa Marta, there's an ice-cream shop there, the air is clean It was quiet, peaceful & relaxing. I loved the food, oh there are lot of cats on the resort so if you plan on staying here don't forget to bring them some kitty treats? Cuba, I hope to see you again soon❤️

Starfish Guardalavaca: Nice quiet resort

The resort was small and quiet. Room was beautiful overlooking pool, snack bar with live music most nights. Buffet was good. Only one A la Carte but it was an amazing seafood dinner. If you like a quiet, quaint resort you won’t be disappointed. Julio and Gerardo were the bartenders at the snack bar in the evening and they were amazing and made sure everyone’s made sure all our glasses were kept full. Memories Jibacoa: Memories Jibacoa is great

Fun times and so much to do. Havana is a must and snorkel off the beach is amazing. The food is good by Cuban standards and better than the other resorts. Grab the cigars from the lifeguard. The tennis instructor is worth the trip. Bring donations please and contact Jennifer Raymer to help Together for Cuba is a wonderful missionary organization supported by the memories hotel. Club Tropical: Awesome place

We absolutely love this hotel. It is right on the beach. It's right in the middle of town. You can walk to the markets the bank and restaurants. The staff are so lovely and thoughtful. We go often and know most of them on a personal level. It's a great place!!

Hotel Bella Costa: An average cuban government 1.5 star hotel

A great coffee bar. Buffet was sup standard. The indoor buffet has been closed for years, so it has the outdoor one open and it is subject to birds sharing your food, wet weather and strong winds. Pipes draining in the lobby and the maids working 24 hrs to mop the puddles. Over all I found my room clean. Only one out of four elevators working. Grand Memories Cayo Largo: Memories Cayo Largo

An amazing resort, very friendly stuff. We are looking forward to come back.Food was very delicious. We meet so many amazing people there.Beach Sirena and beach Paraiso are very beautiful and the sea is very calm.

Melia Las Americas: Fantastic Stay!

This hotel and it's staff are just amazing. We are repeat guests and it gets better every time. We stayed at the Level on this trip and the accommodation was second to none. I love that it is a pet friendly resort and the pets that live there are well loved by staff and guests. The lobby is the coziest place and you will never have a problem finding a place to sit and relax. Unfortunately we were looking forward to our return, as last February 2018 Due to circumstances we could not come. Hopefully we will be together again soon ? Prayers are with all our Cuba Families

Vila Gale Cayo Paredon: Beautiful resort

We had the best time. The resort was beautiful. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very clean. The staff were absoultely amazing. The food was amazing the italian ala carte was so good we went 3 times the servers were amazing especially Yady she is so delightful.The buffet was good no complaints the server at the smoothie station made my morning.And there is Carlos he went above and beyond he is the best. Melia Las Americas: Beautiful Resort

This hotel was amazing. My friend and I had a regular room in the hotel. Did not see any need to book the Level, too many stairs. .Our room was spotlessly clean, lots of storage room and such comfortable beds. The air conditioning was perfect and our balcony overlooked the golf course/ Our room maid, Odalys, was excellent, supplied us every day with clean towels, clean bed linen and lots of water. To name a few, Julio, Cecilio, Dany, Yuslay (especially sweet) Guiseppi, Yanellis & Elizabeth at the front desk and the two "kids" I wanted to adopt, Laurie and Adrian, and the lady bar manager, sorry I can't remember her name. The food was very good, especially the omlettes in the morning, and of course the bread and the ice cream yummy. The beaches were fabulous, lovely for going for a stroll along the water. Beach bar and toilets were convenient on the beach.The swimming pool was great, and not busy at all. Lovely to lie and relax and read your book. Being a cat person, I loved all the well groomed cats who were very well looked after, they loved to lounge in the sun. We had four meals at the speciality restaurant and they were delicious. Will definitely come back to this resort, The people have so little. We brought lots of stuff down for the staff and their children, and they are so grateful. It just breaks my heart with the situation at the moment, all the hotels closing and the beautiful people not being able to work and they have so little yet are so loving,

Paradisus Varadero: Overrated resort

I should have gone with very low expectations. Food was low quality and minimal variety. Room did not have hot water or all the toiletries. Room was cold with no heat. Internet was unreliable. Ants and spiders were crawling everywhere.??

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Very comfortable stay. Great staff.

The Sanctuary offered a very relaxing experience with a few perks thrown in for extra comfort. The resort is not new but has been maintained well enough. We enjoyed the option to eat breakfast and lunch at the Sanctuary restaurant. There was a nice little snack bar included as well that served a variety of options for lunch. There was usually ample room at the beach, however, I don't believe the resort was near capacity. Cons: We didn't have hot water in our room (other buildings did) - it's Cuba, we kind of expect it.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Wonderful Experience!

Overall the energy of the staff and resort is really positive. Whatever you need you can truly get. Even if food is an issue. O matter what you can find something that will be great. Having an ice cream shop is absolutely fantastic!!! The entertainment was top notch. The breakdancer whom is freelance, bboy90 was amazing!!! The service at the front amazing. We brought tips for the gardeners and cleaners doing such a great job. Everyone was so pleasant and grateful. We would have stayed forever.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Tired Resort

Grounds and pool were well kept. Anyone with mobility issues would be challenged by the stairs/steps to go anywhere. Rooms are in need of updating, especially the bathrooms, mould throughout. Many infrastructure problems while we were there, no water to toilets for two days, we had no hot water for four days. Lack of public washrooms, you were lucky if any were even if working, the poor maid had to flush them with a bucket of water. Melia Las Americas: Love this resort

I had a wonderful time at Melia Las Americas. WE were originally booked for 14 days,however had to return 4 days early, because of ongoing problem with cuba having fuel shortages. The hotel did a fantastic job during our stay, it was my third time at this resort and I would certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful beach, beautiful grounds, and more importantly absolutely amazing staff.. Vila Gale Cayo Paredon: Amazing Resort

This resort was amazing. Everyone was so friendly, the rooms were kept clean. Not a very far walk to get to the beach, pool, or meals. Everything was so beautiful. The entertainers were awesome. They knew how to make you feel welcomed. I would definitely recommend Vila Gale to my friends, and I'm hoping one day to be back there again. There was no shortage of anything. I'm just disappointed my stay got cut short due to the fuel shortage.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Holguin: Ok resort

The resort was nice . The grounds well kept. Pools were clean. Bathrooms had toilet paper 75% of the time fairly clean. The rooms were nice but the first room we were in had a really bad sewer smell and a few cockroaches. No A/C working most of the 2 weeks we were there. The second room was nice and no smell. Our Butler Michel was amazing. Always checking in on us every day to see if everything was good. Our day time butler Adriel we hardly ever saw. The food was what we expected. They were in the cloth napkins and when the grill was turned on many started crawling out of the cracks on the table top. All 16 of us had to get up and leave before we even got our drinks. Staff were overwhelmed most of the time. Short staffed and working long days. The beach was ok . Very windy with lots of seaweed and garbage on the shore line. Usually raked by later in the day . Being premium wasn’t what it was all that cracked up to be. 2 days the premium bar had no beer or rum. Still love the Cuban people and will go back but just not to this resort.

Sanctuary Cayo Largo: OUTSTANDING RESORT

Let me start with few words about the booking: we did not know anything about this resort and we based our request on what was posted on the Sunwing website. The booking was done via Tripcentral, Ms. Tammy, who for sure did her best for us. Many THANKS. Sanctuary was one of the latest resorts in Cayo Largo....Very unfortunately decision to suffocate Cuba, and the hardworking people from there who are doing an EXCELLENT JOB to keep all the guests super happy. Let me start with LODGING: it was  [... read more]PERFECT as long as we stayed there. FOOD: I will say that we did not go there to gain weight, and thus, what they served was ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT: we did not have any issues, the variety was covering a large range of craves. BEACH: it was posted on the Sunwing website that there is no beach at this resort and transportation to alternated beaches will be available. For a better understanding about the resort beach, I will provide here few details: first day there we took the mini bus to the alternate beaches: PARAISO and SIRENA. Both of them INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL!!!!! The duration of the transfer was 12-14 minutes. Both beaches are inclusive for optional clothing which brings them a nice advantage (IMO). Talking to one of the best people of this Hotel, Mr. Carlos, when we came back from Sirena, he advised us to check the beach which is in front of the hotel at a 4-5 minutes walking distance... We were shocked about the BEAUTY of that beach.... The next couple of days we stayed on that beach...and I ASKED Carlos why that beach is somehow "hidden" from the website and we discovered the TRUTH: during the year, the water comes and go and the beach disappears for the most of the time: he told us, that in normal conditions, the beach is available between the 15th of November and up to the next 15th of February ONLY.... The dates may vary.... In fact this reality applies for all of the resorts which are on that coast: NATURA, LINDA MAR, MEMORIES or STAR FISH... What Carlos told us was proven by the sea: after 8 days, one morning the waves suddenly "ate" the beach and we went again to Sirena, who is something absolutely a dream.... I will mention that I was relying on the Sunwing website info which is OUTDATED that there are tennis courts at the hotels around...I brought with me the racquet and tennis balls to play. Unfortunately, the existing courts at Grand memories CLOSED RESORT), MEMORIES, STAR FISH, are in a deplorable shape...cracks, unleveled, etc. and if you are playing there you will do on your own risk...I suggest to stay away...I was hitting with Carlos, he is a very good player, and we enjoyed hitting few cans of balls... I have to mention few people here who really are PROFESSIONALS and who did everything in order to keep the tourists happy: The Director(Manager) of the RECEPTION DEPARTMENT, Mr. DARYL who definitely makes the difference with his OUTSTANDING customer service attention and care, and who, with elegance and distinction was able to solve any question at any time when we asked him. He has an EXCELLENT English and he has amazing LISTENING SKILLS and he acts instantly by solving any normal request. Very kind, Daryl build a team around him with patience and knowledge. He was very respected by his co-workers and by the tourists as well. Amazing ASSET for Sanctuary! I mentioned Carlos who helps with anything, offers extra steps with trips to LINDA MAR, comes back to pick up at the request, etc. very attentive and as Daryl, FENUINE NICE! I found that our butler, Juan Carlos (JuanCa) was within the limits of his mandate, very useful and very attentive. Overall, we stayed there 9 nights, then we were moved to Memorie and from there to ...Varadero (what an amazing adventure!) in order to return to Canada. The experience at Sanctuary was A PERFECT ONE! Again, the lodging EXCEPTIONAL, very elegant large rooms, amazing bathrooms, everything very clean and functional; No power outages, fresh food, beach - as long as we were there PERFECT! I would rate it as 20/20

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Great resort

Great place, amazing people, good food. The beach and water- I don’t have to say it as we should all know that Cuba has the best beaches and water! Good entertainment and a lovely place to escape and recharge.
