Memories Jibacoa: Memories Jibacoa is great

Fun times and so much to do. Havana is a must and snorkel off the beach is amazing. The food is good by Cuban standards and better than the other resorts. Grab the cigars from the lifeguard. The tennis instructor is worth the trip. Bring donations please and contact Jennifer Raymer to help Together for Cuba is a wonderful missionary organization supported by the memories hotel. Grand Memories Cayo Largo: Memories Cayo Largo

An amazing resort, very friendly stuff. We are looking forward to come back.Food was very delicious. We meet so many amazing people there.Beach Sirena and beach Paraiso are very beautiful and the sea is very calm.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Very comfortable stay. Great staff.

The Sanctuary offered a very relaxing experience with a few perks thrown in for extra comfort. The resort is not new but has been maintained well enough. We enjoyed the option to eat breakfast and lunch at the Sanctuary restaurant. There was a nice little snack bar included as well that served a variety of options for lunch. There was usually ample room at the beach, however, I don't believe the resort was near capacity. Cons: We didn't have hot water in our room (other buildings did) - it's Cuba, we kind of expect it.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Tired Resort

Grounds and pool were well kept. Anyone with mobility issues would be challenged by the stairs/steps to go anywhere. Rooms are in need of updating, especially the bathrooms, mould throughout. Many infrastructure problems while we were there, no water to toilets for two days, we had no hot water for four days. Lack of public washrooms, you were lucky if any were even if working, the poor maid had to flush them with a bucket of water. Windy/red flag the whole time we were there, beautiful beach for walking. People need to know this area is almost 1.5 hr bus ride from airport

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Holguin: Ok resort

The resort was nice . The grounds well kept. Pools were clean. Bathrooms had toilet paper 75% of the time fairly clean. The rooms were nice but the first room we were in had a really bad sewer smell and a few cockroaches. No A/C working most of the 2 weeks we were there. The second room was nice and no smell. Our Butler Michel was amazing. Always checking in on us every day to see if everything was good. Our day time butler Adriel we hardly ever saw. The food was what we expected. Better hot f [... read more]ood at the buffet than the a-la-carts. Huge issue with cockroaches at the Japanese restaurant. They were in the cloth napkins and when the grill was turned on many started crawling out of the cracks on the table top. All 16 of us had to get up and leave before we even got our drinks. Staff were overwhelmed most of the time. Short staffed and working long days. The beach was ok . Very windy with lots of seaweed and garbage on the shore line. Usually raked by later in the day . Being premium wasn’t what it was all that cracked up to be. 2 days the premium bar had no beer or rum. Still love the Cuban people and will go back but just not to this resort.

Sanctuary Cayo Largo: OUTSTANDING RESORT

Let me start with few words about the booking: we did not know anything about this resort and we based our request on what was posted on the Sunwing website. The booking was done via Tripcentral, Ms. Tammy, who for sure did her best for us. Many THANKS. Sanctuary was one of the latest resorts in Cayo Largo....Very unfortunately decision to suffocate Cuba, and the hardworking people from there who are doing an EXCELLENT JOB to keep all the guests super happy. Let me start with LODGING: it was  [... read more]PERFECT as long as we stayed there. FOOD: I will say that we did not go there to gain weight, and thus, what they served was ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT: we did not have any issues, the variety was covering a large range of craves. BEACH: it was posted on the Sunwing website that there is no beach at this resort and transportation to alternated beaches will be available. For a better understanding about the resort beach, I will provide here few details: first day there we took the mini bus to the alternate beaches: PARAISO and SIRENA. Both of them INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL!!!!! The duration of the transfer was 12-14 minutes. Both beaches are inclusive for optional clothing which brings them a nice advantage (IMO). Talking to one of the best people of this Hotel, Mr. Carlos, when we came back from Sirena, he advised us to check the beach which is in front of the hotel at a 4-5 minutes walking distance... We were shocked about the BEAUTY of that beach.... The next couple of days we stayed on that beach...and I ASKED Carlos why that beach is somehow "hidden" from the website and we discovered the TRUTH: during the year, the water comes and go and the beach disappears for the most of the time: he told us, that in normal conditions, the beach is available between the 15th of November and up to the next 15th of February ONLY.... The dates may vary.... In fact this reality applies for all of the resorts which are on that coast: NATURA, LINDA MAR, MEMORIES or STAR FISH... What Carlos told us was proven by the sea: after 8 days, one morning the waves suddenly "ate" the beach and we went again to Sirena, who is something absolutely a dream.... I will mention that I was relying on the Sunwing website info which is OUTDATED that there are tennis courts at the hotels around...I brought with me the racquet and tennis balls to play. Unfortunately, the existing courts at Grand memories CLOSED RESORT), MEMORIES, STAR FISH, are in a deplorable shape...cracks, unleveled, etc. and if you are playing there you will do on your own risk...I suggest to stay away...I was hitting with Carlos, he is a very good player, and we enjoyed hitting few cans of balls... I have to mention few people here who really are PROFESSIONALS and who did everything in order to keep the tourists happy: The Director(Manager) of the RECEPTION DEPARTMENT, Mr. DARYL who definitely makes the difference with his OUTSTANDING customer service attention and care, and who, with elegance and distinction was able to solve any question at any time when we asked him. He has an EXCELLENT English and he has amazing LISTENING SKILLS and he acts instantly by solving any normal request. Very kind, Daryl build a team around him with patience and knowledge. He was very respected by his co-workers and by the tourists as well. Amazing ASSET for Sanctuary! I mentioned Carlos who helps with anything, offers extra steps with trips to LINDA MAR, comes back to pick up at the request, etc. very attentive and as Daryl, FENUINE NICE! I found that our butler, Juan Carlos (JuanCa) was within the limits of his mandate, very useful and very attentive. Overall, we stayed there 9 nights, then we were moved to Memorie and from there to ...Varadero (what an amazing adventure!) in order to return to Canada. The experience at Sanctuary was A PERFECT ONE! Again, the lodging EXCEPTIONAL, very elegant large rooms, amazing bathrooms, everything very clean and functional; No power outages, fresh food, beach - as long as we were there PERFECT! I would rate it as 20/20

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Last visit to this resort

On our first full day, we encountered an issue in the dinner buffet involving staff members. We were upset that at 8:30pm in the evening, nothing was being replenished for a 10pm closing. No wine, veggies for pasta bar, ice cream and so on. When we decided to leave and go to the snack bar, Bites, to eat, and after the staff became aware that we were not happy, 8-10 staff members came outside and started laughing. One lady in particular was pointing and laughing at us very loudly. When I [... read more] turned around and they say how upset I had become, they all started to scramble, and I wanted to get their names, especially of the one pointing at us. She refused to give me her name, so I threatened to take her picture (which I didn't take), to show it to her supervisor. A young gentleman that was working that evening named Daniel, diffused the situation and apologized for the staff behavior. We were given a bottle of wine for our room, which we never did drink. We then left the buffet, and went to Bites to eat. There, I was approached by a staff member wanted to know my room number. I refused to give it to her. She said she worked in customer service, but I still refused. I was starting to feel like something might happen to us, if we were being followed and they wanted to know where we were staying. The next day, after cooling off with the incident, we talked to a woman who books the ala carte dinners, and explained what had happened the previous evening. She then called in another woman and explained our situation the previous evening. She told me that she would look into our encounter and get back to us. That never happened, so on our last day while waiting for the bus to take us to the airport, I spoke the the gentleman in the Premium lounge, and he took me to the customer service room to clear up what had happened. The same woman that wanted to know my room number was there, and she called in her boss. They both made it sound like I was lying and that their staff did no wrong. Great customer service. I had refused to go back to the buffet for the rest of that week, and stuck to my word. I was humiliated at the buffet and then again by the customer service. After my 3rd trip to this resort, I will never be back.

Memories Jibacoa: Our Favourite Cuban Resort

The hotel is situated between the mountains and the beach 45 minutes from the airport and has beautiful gardens and palms throughout. A short swim out in the ocean reveals long reefs that are an excellent spot to snorkel. If you are a walker the beach is a lovely stretch to enjoy. It is an older hotel but well laid out with easy access to all amenities. The pool is large and well maintained.Rooms are clean, housekeeping is excellent. The staff are warm, friendly and accommodating. Several à l [... read more]a carte restaurants were onsite: the buffet is clean and well stocked.The food, coffees and drinks are above average; we were pleased with the choices and quality. Water was provided daily. Activities were onsite and entertainment was varied; musicians played many evenings.WiFi was a bit sporadic. Information for tours, taxis and attractions was easy to access; a Sunwing rep was present six days a week and was very informative. The appeal for this hotel is the quality of food and the lovely, caring staff.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Great trip and Resort

We visited Memories Caribe during the week of Feb. 8, 2026. We were repatriated back home to Canada on Feb. 16. Aside from the geopolitics with Cuba, the resort overall, and resort staff continued to do amazing work to ensure we were always satisfied and happy. At no time did the stress of what was taking place outside the resort for these employees play a role in how they went about their work with us. I witnessed strong, dedicated, resilient people. We were well aware of the conditions they fa [... read more]ced at home, and even while we enjoyed the resources of the resort, it was never far from our minds of the challenges they faced when they went home. Many of them working 16 hour days, more than 7 consecutive days in a row. We travelled to Cuba for many years, and this is the biggest challenge and hardship they will ever face, by far. Our hearts go out to the people of Cuba and when the time is right we will return to Cuba and to Memories Caribe.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: 2nd stay at Memories Flamenco

The beach is truly the highlight of this resort, without a doubt one of the best. It’s a long, breathtaking stretch of soft white sand with crystal-clear water. There are plenty of palapa and lots of chairs, so you never feel stressed about finding shade or a good spot. The pool area is just as enjoyable. The atmosphere comes alive starting at 10am when the music begins, and the entertainment team keeps the energy up all day with tons of fun activities. There were absolutely no shortages of anything, and the buffet offered a wide variety of options every day. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We had a room with two twin beds, and they were super comfortable, we slept great every night. Housekeeping did a wonderful job keeping everything tidy. The only small issue worth mentioning is that the pool washroom doors don’t shut properly, which could definitely use some attention. However, this was very minor compared to how wonderful everything else was. This was our second time at Memories Flamenco, and it definitely won’t be our last. We already can’t wait to come back again

Memories Cayo Largo: Wonderful Week

Just returned from Memories Cayo Largo. My impression of the resort is it’s a small gem of a resort. Beautiful tucked away resort on a stretch of mind blowing beaches. Though the beach on site is a bit difficult to go down because of the surf destruction once you tackle the first 20 feet you will be in beach heaven, let me add there are stairs as well. The food for the entire week was quite good and some days delicious. They are a bit tired in some of the rooms but in honesty I’m never in my room and not there for that reason. After spending time with many people at the resort for the week I can now understand why they have been countless times and call it there cottage I hope to return some day in years to come.

Memories Jibacoa: Exceptional Resort

We loved our 10 days at Memories Jibacoa. The excellent reviews were spot on. The entire staff were exceptional. The buffet was was one of the best I’ve experienced in Cuba, especially the bread and pastry that was baked fresh everyday. A solid shout out to the pastry chef as well as all the servers in the dining room. Rooms were a bit dated but kept clean and comfortable with fresh towels everyday. The bed was very comfortable with good sheets. A real bonus. Sadly, the Canadian airlines [... read more] announced their temporary (hopefully) suspension of vacation flights to all of Cuba two days before our scheduled departure fight arrived empty. It was heartbreaking to know how the beautiful people of Cuba would be affected. Stay strong MJ and beautiful Cuba. We will return.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Hard to Review

In light of what is happing to Cuba it's hard to give a negative review. However, They only cleaned my room once in 8 days. I left money and a gift for the Maid and asked for some water. But she never came back. My sink was plugged the whole time so I scooped it out with a cup and into the toilet each day. Other issues too but what's the sense. My biggest anger was with the stupid Government. I quit smoking a year ago after 50 years smoking. I used a Vape to get me by. Got to Cuba and they took  [... read more]my Vapes, not allowed in Cuba. Now, holy shit, here I'm on holidays, sit at the beach and have a drink, relax, and puff on my Vape. Now what, illusions all gone. I'm very mad at myself but I did go buy cigarettes to try and enjoy my trip. II they don't allow the sale of e-cigarettes that's their choice, but they should leave Tourists alone. Been to Cuba many times but my Family and friends will never be going again because of this. Spoke to several others in the same situation and they also said never go back again. Cuba has enough problems without stupid rules that make tourist stay away.

As a group of 8 we truly enjoyed ourselves! The food was good (we don't go for the food) The staff we so outgoing and helpful. We had an excellent experience at the Japanese a'lacarte! Some others we hit or miss. We were treated like royalty. We did upgrade to the Sanctuary (premium side) The resort is fairly big however they had the staff and amenities to cover. Our fourth trip here in 10 years…. Still never disappoints! Wonderful room, good and people. The only thing that didn’t cooperate was the weather. Lots to do everyday as the resort has so many cabs and old cars and horses and buggies and you name it .Thank you Memories Jibacoa??

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Some disappointment after a Better visit 2025

Weather was cooler not controllable-- -West jet no seat selection at 24 hours to departure ,even tho it stated in West jet details plus they sent special email to check in and seat select--- this needs to be very clear, and updated . They just want to put you anywhere - trip central -Wendy H was her usual helpful travel advisor. And warned us of potential for issues - no hot water in our rooms except for warm x 20min once And weather wS chilly 15 to 23degrees -al la carts where not ver [... read more]y in tune to their nation Italian. Only dessert matched -- disappointing Wine ,,white was rarely available. And the other mixed drinks had reduced PRODUCT available IN Supply Pool was very cold only 3 people ever went i. In the 3 times we frequented -westjetstaff were good even tho the company procedures etc were not adhered to I felt more sad for our friends who joined us as they really did not have a good exposure to how cuba might have presented..

Sanctuary Cayo Largo: Nice small resort

The cabins are really cool made to look like a cottage from the ultra suede couch,the white wood table and chairs to the back door had a glass door knob and skeleton key. The food was good by Cuban standards basically the same every day with a few new add ones occasionally. Never ran out of anything though. We were drinking Canadian beer Moose head. Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Cayo coco cuba

I would not recommend Cayo coco Cuba. Stay home. I feel they should close this resort. We did not have any hot water to shower all week also 2 days only air came out of tap.weather was windy and cold so no beach days when weather is like that. There was human sewage on the lawns. Smelled awful. Birds pooping on walls and tables where you go to eat at smogisboard. There also shortage of clean beach towels and toilet paper.and absolutely no face cloths we paid for premium superior deluxe rooms and [... read more] guess what they are all the same. Our friends who we traveled with there room was musty smelling..the coffee came cold at the restaurants.Our fridge in room really did not keep things cold. We were promised 4 alcarts and only got 3. The food was all the same no special food at premium restaurant which we paid extra for we had premium class superior deluxe which we paid extra for. Trip was a total disappointment. We were to have early book in our rooms but that did not happen either. The people of Cuba are amazing friendly people. I would not go back . I would give this place a complete miss 0/10.

Memories Cayo Largo: Loved Cayo Largo

Cayo Largo is a Beautiful small Island! We stayed at Memories Cayo Largo, the rooms are very outdated and falling apart but we didn’t care to much about the room, you just sleep and shower there. Apparently the Hotel is updating the rooms this Summer. The food was great, there’s a meat station that had, chicken, pork or ham, a pasta/pizza station and a fish station. They also had salads,Turkey 3 nights and Lobster or Filet Mignon that you paid $30 USD for. We loved the Sunset Cruise, we stop [... read more]ped at 3 islands that were spectacular, had Lobster or Chicken to choose from for Dinner, then watched the Sunset!!! I used the spa and had 2 90 min massages during my week stay. There are some bugs at night if your around vegetation but they only seemed to bite me and not the other 5 people we were with. We will definitely go back when the rooms are renovated. The staff are amazing! Bring Cat Food if you love cats, there’s approximately 50 on the resort. Bring a lot of $1 bills for tips, approximately $20 per day. Don’t give Canadian change to them, it’s useless money in Cuba but they can use Canadian Dollar Bills. You can pay your excursions with Canadian Bills also. The Premium package is worth it just for the Butler service, but you also save 30% at the spa. This Resort was an older crowd with very few children or younger adults which we like, were in our early 50’s. We will be returning again!!!
