Playa Vista Azul. Amazing

Stayed one week at Playa Vista Azul and loved the Resort. First 2 nights we were in a Bungalow. We had no air conditioning and ceiling fan was making a loud noise. The concierge at the premium pool area were awesome. Diana, Adrian, and several others. They took care of moving us and always ask if we needed anything, wanted an a la carte booked for the evening, asking if we were happy! We were moved to 1233 in the Premium Building. Julia the housekeeper was excellent, clean room, water, towels etc etc. We had a few issues with the key cards not working on a daily basis. The front desk staff was unfriendly, and ignored us most times. Grounds were well kept. Beach was great. Food was in abundance and delicious. The staff at Le Coral were friendly and attentive, Katie, Magadera(wrong spelling). Ate breakfast and lunch there daily, snacks while at the pool. Carlos, the bartender at the premium pool was the best! Premium Bar in the lobby was quiet and best Pina Coladas and Rico took good care of us.

Not the best!

6/10 Our first Cuba ressort and it’s for sure not a 4-5 star! We weren’t expecting much food and drinks but that wasn’t even the main issue, it was the staff and room. First off, we came and checked in at 10am- expecting our rooms to be done maybe a bit before or at 4:00. When it hit 4:00, still not ready. This also didn’t happen to just us, but multiple other people. Already being tired from your flight, then waiting till 4:00 thinking your room will be ready but it still isn’t, is insane to m [... read more]e. Then our room itself wasn’t bad, but toilette seat had some red spotting (we thought it was period blood) and the like pull our mirror was falling off the wall. We were also having problems with the thermostat and when we called the reception they didn’t understand what we meant ( what isn’t the issue) and we’re being very annoyed and rude to us! On the other hand food was actually decent- had chicken for most of my meals with some nice dessert! Had two pools and two beaches that were nice and clean. Over all I think the main issue is staff and hospitality, and the rooms.

Guys Cuba Trip

The hotel was very nice, tho it could use a little tlc. My mattress was a little hard, the cushions on the chairs in the lobby and on the infinity pool deck need some stuffing. During an early morning walk I realized that how alot of areas are unsafely dark. Buildings not adequately signed with building numbers. These are minor issues, not major. Awesome!!

We were so pleased with just about everything. The food quality and quanity was exceptional. Rooms were clean and well kept for our whole stay. Outside grounds beautiful. Staff treated us like family. We will book in here again for certain.

Nice resort

We were a group of five girls and had an amazing time. The resort grounds were kept in very great condition. We ate at every place that we could, and we’re pleasantly pleased with everything that we had. There wasn’t a huge selection, but it was during the off-season so that was understandable. Wat [... read more]ching the sunset over the infinity pool every night was breathtaking. Staff in all parts of the resort were friendly and accommodating. To mention a few of our favorites… Gilberto in the main lobby, Camilla and Hanley in the buffet, Andie and George in the 24 hour snack bar, Rafael, Yandy and Jose down at the beach, Michael at the beach bar and the pool bar. There was one special cleaning lady in the main lobby, whose name I don’t know, but she was amazing. Evian and Adam and Frank driving the carts were always fun to see! Our room in building 3 was pretty rundown, but we did have excellent air conditioning, lots of hot water and our toilet worked properly. The staff and how pretty this resort is really contribute to the high rating.

Great resort

The resort grounds are kept impeccably clean. All of the food we ate at the buffet, à la carte, snack bar, 24 hour bar, were all wonderful. The infinity edge pool looking out to the sunset every night was beautiful. We spent every day at the big beach, so I’m not sure how the small beach was. The staff at all parts of the resort were very friendly. There are definitely more that were outstanding toward us. Nightly shows were quite good.

Super hotel , clean, will recommend to everyone.

This hotel is nice maintained, nothing was missing. Rooms are clean, towels changed daily, no complain. Common aerie are really nice kept, I really don't have anything bad to say. I will tell everyone who want to go to Varadero to go to this hotel.

Great Cuba Premium Experience

Great Premium Experience – Worth the Upgrade! We stayed at Playa Vista Azul last week and I strongly recommend booking the premium package if you can. This review is based solely on our premium experience. The food exceeded my expectations for Cuba resort food, the service was fantastic, and the beach was beautiful. While it’s a bit of a walk to the beach, our oceanfront premium bungalows made it much more convenient — we were closer than most guests. The premium restaurant and service  [... read more]were excellent, thanks to Claudia and Doxana, who were absolutely amazing. The premium pool bar experience is also elevated when Senen is working — he’s incredibly warm and welcoming, and truly made a difference in our stay. A big thank you to our consignee, Amilcar, who helped us change rooms on Day 2. As for the à la carte restaurants, I especially enjoyed the Caribbean and Italian options. If you have allergies, be sure to inform your consignee — they’ll provide a printed note for you to place on your table. However, despite their efforts, there was some miscommunication between the servers and the kitchen, so I recommend double-checking your food to be safe. Now for the downside: we had to change rooms because our original bungalow had cockroaches — over an inch and half long. I also noticed them in the hotel bar area. While the staff explained this is common in the Caribbean, I’ve traveled to many islands and resorts and have never encountered this issue on a resort before. Overall, I would return to this resort — especially for the premium experience — but hopefully without the uninvited house guests.

Very Nice

Great service and very friendly staff. The food was ok and kind of expected as it is Cuba but we certainly never starved.. I love the cheese, the sweet potatoes , and the Italian restaurant was my favourite. The bread is also fresh and tastes the way bread is supposed to be . There is not a wide variety of alcohol, mainly rum, but the staff is excellent and will always accommodate any request they can.(and we know that Cuban rum is the best anyways! ) The coffee in the foyer is the best! Eve [... read more]ry morning was a highlight as the morning bar staff was incredible. The beaches are great, 1 rocky entry, 1 all smooth sand entry, very very clean, and the Pools are 100% relaxing. Only really bad thing was that they closed at 6pm . Nothing good to say about closing at 6pm .Hot tub was not working. Rooms were clean and expected. Some things didn’t work well, but you have to be realistic of their resources . The AC was super cold and I loved it . Bring a sweater and pants for sleeps Lots of tiny mosquitos in August so bring bug spray. They have some in the store if needed for $5 US. Bring extra toilet paper , and always check for toilet paper in the bathroom before you decide to go lol. Most toilets are missing the toilet seat outside of the rooms, but this is normal . If you go out of resort check out Havana. Look for Ricardo Luis on Facebook, (Private tour) we had a tour with him and it was the highlight of the trip for me . It was safe , affordable, and truly a wonderful experience. Private tour in old car was great, and I really got to see the real Cuba not just the vacation spot that some people only want you to see . Cuba is nice. Be understanding if the resource they have, and don’t set your expectations crazy high. Spend time tipping the people you really appreciate. Tips improve the quality of life and comes back full circle.

Deceiving resort

This resort is very deceiving, it looked beautiful on the pictures but the actual resort is old it says 5 star 30 years ago need upgrade. it is a 2 star for me. No bed sheet in the room unless you request, no landline phone, in case you need service like blanket, face towels you have to walk at least few blocks away to reach the reception bldg. Trip central you have to check the resort very deceiving.

Playa Vista Azul Expereince

Hotel room amenities needed repairs. The bedding smells sour. My Room cleaner (7115) is very good Dialesis Torres I believe is her name. Waiters are good! The receptionists provide poor service. Bar employees are good. Beach security and helpers are very good.

A great vacation

We went as a family of 4 in July 2025. Originally booked regular rooms and were very disappointed upon arrival. The rooms looked very run down. The buffet also looked very "sad", although in fairness, we arrived there at 8 pm. Anyway, we didn't want to spend our vacation that way and paid for a premium room the next day. Premium comes with an additional restaurant and priority booking at a la cart. Premium rooms are great! It is beautiful. The grounds are well-maintained. Staff are really hardworking and very friendly. There was some sort of entertainment but none of us are into that so I can't really say much. We spent most of our times at the beach or in the pool. All in all, great experience. Food in restaurants was actually much better than I expected.

Nice place

Nice place for family with kids , or for seniors. People at buffet should be more friendly especially the ones that are hiding bacon . It’s clean . Lots of entertainment. Overall nice resort Beach should be cleaned daily and make it more accessible

Amazing trip

Great beach and the staff is awesome. The room need better mattress. And more services at the table in the buffets. Sometime when we were at sit no one ask us for a Coffee or water and we wait too long for just a pop.

Love this Resort

am a repeat guest at this resort. I have stayed as both standard and premium. My preference is premium. I have made friends who are now my family. The rooms are spacious and clean, thank you Maricela and Regal!! The food is good, no complaints. There are many choices such as pizza, burgers, hot dogs, sandwiches, fresh fruit, yogurt, eggs, bacon, butter, chicken pork, pasta, etc...Thank you Katia and crew at the Coral. With a variety of drinks always being refreshed by a wonderful team of bartend [... read more]ers. Carlos, Lisbet, Yos, Onay, Jimmy and Livia will keep you thirst quenched and always with a smile. Big shout out the the Premium staff who go above and beyond to make sure your vacation is the best it can be. Arasay, Yuri, Diana and team are amazing. Anything you need, just ask they will do their best to make it happen. And we can't forget about Jose at the front desk with his big beautiful smile and of course the 5 gardeners who keep the grounds looking amazing. They will even climb a tree to get a fresh coconut for a Pina Colada if ya ask nice. I highly recommend this resort and look forward to returning to visit "family" ,friends and beautiful Cuba. Don't forget to try the Chocolate Tequila, so good as a shot or in an iced coffee.

Beautiful Views

Everything is on point at this resort! No shortages whatsoever! Entertainment team are incredibly talented. Love the lobby bar with the best views and drinks. Shout out to the beach bar staff, so friendly and great food

Amazing resort!

Just spent 9 days at this resort, wonderful staff, great food, beautiful clean pools and lovely beach. This is not our first or last time at this resort!!! We go premium and can’t say enough about how caring the staff is. I recommend this resort if you want a lovely vacation.

Great Experience

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The rooms were good. Had a great time in the pool and sitting on the beach. The infinity pool was lovely and it was relaxing to sit there. Enjoyed hanging out at in the lobby.

Delightful Resort

The grounds were well-maintained and the washrooms mostly clean. Knowing that toilet paper and paper towels are of a shortage (having been to Cuba once before) we came prepared and stocked with these. Food was fairly good but lacked flavour. The A La Carte restaurants served some delicious meals however. The staff were all very attentive and ensured that we were well looked after for every need. The beach was fantastic and staff assisted with lounge chairs, drinks etc. The pools were wonderful [... read more] and the excursions fantabulous. In conclusion it was a lovely place to spend a vacation.

Family for sure

No matter where you are on this resort all of the staff are eager to help. Yuriel and Diane in the premium section go above and beyond to help with everything. Carlos at the premium pool bar is always singing as he makes your drink. Amaury, Victor and Yosnier at the lobby bar make a mean cocktail. Richard, Yimi and Onay at the premium bar are always on their toes ready to fill your cup.
