Worst Royalton Ever

Completely under staffed and it showed. Constantly running out of stuff, IE, Butter, ketchup, napkins, cups for drinks, cheese and bacon for omelets and more. Stayed for a week and not once did we see someone check chlorine levels, add chlorine or even clean any of the pools. We had a swim out which had flower stems at the bottom of the pool, busted balloons floating around, amongst other stuff in the pools from day 1 and still there when we left. Needless to say, we would never go back to Royalton St. Lucia!

Great Resort

The hotel was amazing! It was always clean. It wasn't a huge place, but it felt comfortable. The only thing was that it was very far from the airport, and the drive was long on very tight, windy roads.

Very nice hotel

The hotel complex is a nice size; no more than a 5 minute walk anywhere. The restaurants were very good. Surprisingly (to me), Hunter's Steakhouse was at the bottom of our list. Service was very good, but the dinners were disappointing. My New York steak was not a very good cut, and my wife's salmon was quite overdone. Grazie, Calypso and Armadillo were quite good; Zen Teppenyaki was fun. The buffet was quite fine; great for breakfast, very good for lunch, and ok for dinner. I later found out that we could get bottled water at scoops. Evening entertainment was a bit loud at times and generally not to our liking although country night was good, and the Thursday night Michael Jackson tribute was good. We had a swim out room in building 4, and that was really good. I would do that again. Housekeeping was excellent. The lady who did our room was very pleasant and efficient. For some reason there were no facecloths provided, even though we asked every day. We finally got a couple on our last day. Overall we had a very good and enjoyable week.

Fantastic Resort

Every staff member we came across for the week we were there was so polite and kind. The rooms were beautiful. The service was great. The beach was small but nice. There is some seaweed that floats up some days. The pools were beautiful. All around amazing experience at the Royalton. We have nothing but amazing things to say about this resort and our vacation.

Nice resort

Nice hotel. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. No musty smell. Grounds are well kept. Lots of pools. It wasn’t very busy when we were there. We were a group of 11 and got chairs together every day (week of Nov 18-25). Keep this in mind when reading the rest of my review. I would estimate it to be under 30% capacity. The hotel folks were kind to make 3 dinner reservations for us before we left since we were a big group. I had to push back a bit because at first they said no. Unfortunatel [... read more]y they made our Zen reservation half an hour past the start of the show, so when we arrived at first they said sorry, you missed it. Again, a conversation and proof it was their error led us right to our place at the grill. We did go on to make reservations while at the resort for the rest of the week and one night we had our own room at Calypso which was great. The Hunter Steakhouse also did an amazing job of decorating their separate room for our two birthday guests. They really did a great job! We did a tour through the hotel…a speedboat to the mud baths, snorkelling, lunch, bat cave, falls. It was really fun! The food was good and again no lineups since it was pretty quiet. Only one day was the buffet busy but that was a “day pass” day so there were more guests than normal there. The beach was beautiful. Our only complaint..and it was from our entire group….the buffet staff are lacking. Every morning we were tracking them down for cutlery, water, coffee. And when you do, the ladies generally are a little indignant. They just don’t seem very happy. Also, the Martini Bar is grossly understaffed. At cocktail hour, we often waited 20 minutes at the bar just to get a drink. It was the same throughout the evening. They have no idea who is next, so guests need to manage that piece. Most were good to wait their turn but there’s always that one entitled couple or young girl. The pool bars were the same with often one bartender working both the wet and dry side of the bar. If we compare to Mexico, those folks are always happy, happy to serve you, and literally run to please and serve you. Not here…everyone is in slo-mo. Each bar makes drinks differently too. We were in the regular area and wondered if the Hideaway and Diamond Club had the same experience. We talked with a few other couples who were there and they said other than their butler, it was the same for them. Aside from the hotel experience itself , the bus ride from the airport to the resort is two hours of twists and turns and traffic. The airport is nice and small, well run and very easy to navigate through the process.

Wonderful time !

This is a beautifully kept resort, very clean and constantly maintained. Our food experiences were all good but reservations are a must for à la carte restaurants. They are developing some good nightly entertainment too which we enjoyed. The only complaint would be that they seemed to be a bit short staffed and some staff were not that friendly mainly the bartenders at the pool bars. Not very social and not many happy smiling faces

Beautiful Resort

Royalton Saint Lucia Resort is a beautiful property—well maintained with clean rooms, stunning beach, and amazing pools. For the best ocean views, building #5 is highly recommended. Dining is convenient, as restaurant reservations can be made in advance through the app. The staff were friendly and helpful, adding to the overall experience. The only drawback is the airport transfer, which takes about an hour and half to two hours each way.

Beautiful resort!

The grounds are beautiful, the room was spacious and had the promised ocean view, the food in the buffet and the restaurants was delicious and a good variety. Restaurants can be reserved ahead of time using the app, no waiting in line. Most of the staff was really friendly and helpful.

Great stay!

My husband and I booked our last minute honeymoon through trip central. We were very happy with the resort. The beach is beautiful and so still. We enjoyed all the dining aside from the Asian. The rooms are clean, a little damp but overall nice. The grounds are beautiful and maintained. We had a swim out, which was lovely, however, the first few days the water level seemed to be low. 2 days went by and the water levels seemed to be back up—which was good. T [... read more]his was nice and central, however, quite loud as it’s a main passage for guests heading to breakfast as well as employees arriving (employee parking lot located behind the building). If you’re looking to have an uninterrupted morning sleep consider a different building or not being on ground floor. Overall, great spot.

Wonderful resort

This resort offered pretty much everything you need for an enjoyable stay. The rooms were bright, modern and clean. The resort offered 6 different restaurants plus the buffet. The food quality was great and there was nightly entertainment.

Absolutely gorgeous

Royalton St Lucia is absolutely gorgeous and must stay. Grounds are well kept and beautiful. Rooms have view to see the beautiful sunset. Loved the Steakhouse restaurant. Small beach area with alot of rocks in water. Pool tend to run out of towels. House keepers were nice. They ran out of towels and face cloth. They charge $6 US per day resort fee plus $200 US hold on credit card for incidentals

Great vacation location!!

Resort overall, great experience. Had a couple of room issues, quickly resolved by staff in a professional and courteous manner. Would definitely consider returning and passing on experiences to friends and family.

Excellent experience

Nothing negative to say about our stay at Roylton St, Lucia. Food, drinks, cleanliness, staff, entertainment and grounds all great! We had a swim-out room and enjoyed the privacy level it provided. We will definitely return in the future!

Beautiful resort

I was at the resort 6 yrs ago and had a wonderful restful vacation. I thought I would try it again also with the diamond club as last time. The butlers were incredible but some of the amenities had changed. The food was good and plentiful. Dorato, Hunter and Zen were the best, but Calypso was pretty good too, but I would definitely skip the Tex Mex! The service in all the restaurants was excellent and cheerful. Entertainment was well done and lots of fun. Royalton is the way I travel.

Beautiful Resort

This hotel grounds are clean and well kept with greenery nicely positioned through out. The public areas are convenient located for easy access. The rooms are large with ample living space. Our room was very clean, and we had daily room upkeep. The buffet dinning was more than adequately stock with plenty of different food selections. The a la carte restaurants were easy to make reservation with very tasty well made dinner options. The butler service Benjamin and Merkel were very patient and always willing to help and last but not lease Deana (not sure of the correct spelling) in the buffet dinning room was awesome she went above and beyond to look after us. She made sure we were happy with our meals and drinks selections. The evening shows and night life were entertaining and interactive as well!

Very Relaxing

This hotel did not disappoint. Travelled October 13th - 20th, 2023. The hotel was well laid out and easy to navigate. We did Diamond Club, which I would highly recommend. Our butlers Marissa and Shadrach went above and beyond to ensure we were well taken care of. The food was very good. We always found something on every menu and even tried a few new foods. We would recommend a private transfer as the journey is just under 2 hours from the airport. We used Mark at Rising Sun Taxi. He was knowledgeable, friendly and fun. He made the ride interesting and informative. We did get the Presidential Ocean View Suite. It was huge. There were lots of areas to sit and relax.

Great Resort

My husband and I absolutely loved the resort; the staff, the amenities, the restaurant, our room all were great!!! We were in the Diamond club and love the benefits however didn't really use the services of the butler and they were not that available. The entertainment and shows do need to be upgraded in order to grab the guest attention. This resort does cater to an older crowd but there still should be entertainment for the guests.

Nice resort but not quiet

Resort beach, pools and grounds are lovely. View from rooms is spectacular at sunset. Food is overall good but not great, generally preferred the buffet over restaurants. Had to wait a few times for the buffet but line moved quickly. Wait for restaurants was long a few times (over an hour), but sometimes no wait. It is a long ride from the airport, traffic always seems to be terrible as there is only 1 main road, but our drivers were great and tried to make the best of it. Rooms were clean but a bit tired and run down. Bathtub and curtain set up is kind of weird for a family of 4 with teenagers. Beds were comfy. Biggest downfall was the evening entertainment - it is blasted from the central courtyard and there is no escaping it from 9pm to 11pm or later, it reverberates across the resort and into rooms even with the doors closed. We are night hawks and love music and a good time but I really would have preferred listening to the roar of the ocean from the balcony rather than being subject to bad karaoke and Michael Jackson covers. The local bands were pretty good - the resort should really consider sticking with them and having quiet lounge music on alternating nights so there is some respite (or at least turn the volume down). Overall we enjoyed our stay, but we wouldn’t go back to the Royalton.

Absolutely stunning!

My Husband and myself stayed here for our honeymoon and it was absolutely stunning. From the food to the location on the island it was an unforgettable trip. Staff were always happy and willing to help with anything you needed. There was a few down falls but that comes with any trip. First was the 2 hour bus ride from the airport to the resort after getting off a 41/2hr flight and it is a very bumpy and windy road which made someone in our bus get motion sickness in the back seats. Second thing was our room wasn’t the cleanest our shower did have left over hairs on the shower ledge from someone before us along with a stain in the bathtub .and our bathtub wasn’t usable. it was coming apart from the base underneath and the stopper got jammed and wouldn’t let the water go down. We did let three people know who worked there .. and even one of them came up to see the issue and told us they would get Maintenance up to fix it but no one came. So the shower was the only option to use. Also, the people selling excursions.. we’re very pushy. No to them meant come back in 30mins and ask if we changed our minds. But other than those things I would recommend this to anyone. 9/10 rating!
