Quiet resort

We thought the resort was very nice. It's a very quiet resort. We really enjoyed the a la carte restaurants. And we love the beach and the sunshine. There was always beer and water in our fridge in our room which was nice. The towels weren't changed everyday but as long as we hung them that was fine with us.

Thoroughly Impressed

I expected very little from this resort, knowing what I know about what a four star means in Cuba and for the low price I paid, but I was thoroughly impressed. The grounds were well maintained, the rooms were huge with a king bed and hot water for showers. The food was what you would expect in Cuba. The only thing I would say is that service at the snack bar in particular wasn’t the greatest. Overall, I would recommend this resort and I would go back

Great vacation

Very nice resort Pool area is very cool with swim up bar, and teared levels with volleyball nets and games. Lots of seating around the pool and the weather was great. Drinks were what you expect in Cuba, beer was good mix drinks were a challenge and on occasion there was no ice.... but that's to be expected in cuba. Rooms were good nothing flashy but cute. Food was good all week, always eggs for breakfast and chicken and rice etc for lunches and dinners. I'd suggest bringing, salt, pepper,  [... read more]ketchup and snacks for your room. The few diet pepsi we brought were nice to have and of course toilet paper is a must just incase. would not get upgraded bracelet, it's not needed unless you want to avoid lineup at bar? then it was worth it. Overall a good spot to go.

Great vacation

The hotel is beautiful well distributed, the restaurant a la carte are nicely decorated, the service was very good and professional, and Jonathan servicio al client make our vacaciones very comfortable, I will recommend this hotel, great experience

Very beautiful resort

We were in this resort last year in August and we liked it so much we had to come back this year. We were there May 21-28, 2025 and we had such a great time, relaxing and having fun in the sun. From the check in to the check out went all smoothly. Everyone who works there makes us feel special, they were all very respectful and helped with anything we needed. They had our room ready when we got there, very clean and spacious room, the air conditioner in our room was working for the first two days, but after it worked just a little bit, we called the front desk and they immediately send someone to help,us move our things to another room which the air conditioner worked, that was appreciated. The grounds were kept very nice. The beach very beautiful, cleaned every day. There was no shortage of beach chairs and there was always someone to help you get one and they even clean it for you. As everyone knows, there is a shortage of food in Cuba but there is always something to eat, even ice cream some of the days. They give you two small bottles of water in your fridge a day. I took my water bottle and got it filled every morning at the buffet with the wonderful ladies who work there with ice water. There are a lot of pools, we only went to 3 but I think there are five, they were very clean and big. We want to say thank you to More who keeps the pool area clean. We met Mijares and Reyfrank who work the grounds around the pool, such great people and very friendly. We want to thank them for their friendship. We will be back

One of the best vacations we have had.

The hotel is beautiful and the view is incredible. The staff are very kind and helpful. We had so much fun with the entertainment group. Each one of them are very talented and the resort should be very proud to have these fine entertainers as part of their team. Bad experience

Bad hosting. Your hotel is not worth spending money for . Your food is the worst and front desk is not helpful . Your drinks are all low graded. Only thing is that the beach was not bad . I will not recommend anyone to go there

Your hotel advertises at 4/1/2 star ⭐️.it’s not even a 3star . Your food was very poor . Only thing I can say about this hotel is that the beach was awesome and everything else was not good . Will not recommend anyone

Had a very relaxing week at the Valentin Cayo Cruz.

The resort is quiet and in an out of the way locale. The main pool area was nice with a swim up bar. The other pools were quaint and quiet. The grounds were lovely and everything was well situated. Beach was beautiful although very windy. The entertainment was fine and did their best. The food was good for Cuba. But white wine was only served in the a la cartes. The rooms were nice and comfortable and the staff did a great job each day.

3 star at best!

The hotel was updated and clean enough. The grounds are spread out and it can be a hike to the pool or beach or snack bar depending where you are placed. Very little shade if it’s windy because they can’t use umbrellas. Had to get up at 5:30 am to get shade chairs. The staff was good once you showed them some money. Customer service called guests liars when staff messed up rather than apologize. I’ve been to Cuba several times and this place did not feel like Cuba. The food was the most recycled [... read more] food I have seen yet. The pool staff and gardeners are the absolute best.

Disappointing Resort

April 9th - 16th. 2025 - Not what was expected. (Reviews praised this resort as the second best on the island) Yes, the beach is beautiful but the property gets a failing grade as it is too spread out and needs some updating. Staff were pleasant but not attentive. The room was nice but smelt 'musty'. Toilet only had water to flush during the day and wouldn't flush in the evenings. Only three ala carte restaurants per week so the remainder of dining was from the buffet. Food was well presented but almost always cold. Survived by eating from the pasta bar and getting fish cooked at the grill. No activities during the day (organized bocce ball at the beach most mornings) Blame the guests I guess for not participating when staff asked guests to play volleyball (both beach and pool) Poor entertainment and once again not supported by guests attending.

This hotel needs work

We stayed at Valentin Cayo Cruz for 5 days, and that was long enough. My biggest complaint is the extremely slow service and inattentive staff. For instance, when sitting down at the buffet for breakfast, there were times we weren't even served water or coffee (it was horrible anyway.) We had to go to the lobby for coffee after breakfast each day, and one of the five days they couldn't even serve it because they had absolutely no running water (even the toilets wouldn't flush.) We experienced an [... read more]other day with no running water in our room, therefore we could not even shower. The room was not very clean upon arrival, and there was black mold growing in the shower area. The worst part was that the maids never gave us new towels and we even once left them on the wet shower floor, only to come back later and find the still wet towels folded neatly for us to reuse for a fourth day. We had to go to the front desk and complain before we recieved new ones for our fifth and final day there. Next, if you're coming to Cuba and smoke cigarettes or want cigars, you will not find them here! We listened to a multitude of people in search of these that were very upset that they couldn't find these items. Food wise, it wasn't actually all that bad compared to other Cuban experiences we've had. We had omelets everyday for breakfast and there was a decent variety of food for lunch and dinner. The entertainment was definitely lacking as well. The positives I have to share about this resort are that the beach is absolutely stunning and the 3-tiered infinity pools overlooking the ocean were spectacular. If you're looking for a cheaper getaway, this is still a better resort in Cuba than most. Never come to Cuba with high expectations, and you'll be okay.

Beautiful Beach and Attentive Staff!

This was my first time in this part of Cuba and it was amazing! The resort is well appointed and has many excellent staff members. We were impressed with the delicious and abundant food and the kitchen staff were creative and generous with the more limited ingredients. Excellent value for the money!

Great Getaway for a couple of weeks

The campus was excellent: multiple horizon pools. The flora were amazing: variety +++ and very well manicured. The food varied from adequate to good. Nothing exceptional. Supper entertainment, especially the saxaphonist was welcome. The room was spacious and clean; oceanview was marvelous. Staff didn't appear to be particularly happy or co-operative most of the time except for the gardeners and the room waitress. Language barriers ++. Never sure that they were understanding wha [... read more]t was requested but, nevertheless, ended up being forthcoming in most instances. Beach was barely runable due to high waves and crowds from adjoining resorts. Nevertheless, the surrounding roads were accessible and essentially traffic-free.

Valenti Cayo Cruz

Didn’t like the smoking in the lobby and not enough evening shows. The resort was beautiful and the staff was great. The rooms were nice and cleaning staff was lovely. Front desk and bar staff were great . Food was what I expected for Cuba.

A friendly and welcoming atmosphere to rest and relax on the beach or by the pool!

This was my third time visiting the Valentin Cayo Cruz. I go back because the resort is located in such a beautiful area. The beach is remarkable with crystal turquoise waters and white sand. The staff work diligently to keep it clean. We walked 3.5 km down the beach. The pool area is also a lovely spot with three separate pools depending on what you want to do. There's a sports pool with soccer and volleyball, a lounge pool and a swim up bar. There are other quieter pools but I like to be by th [... read more]e activity (which is not overwhelming). The food was really stepped up this year and we see the work they are doing to make best with the little they have. There was variety and quality to the food. The grounds are beautiful and clean and the staff are working all the time to keep it that way. I can't say enough about the wonderful staff. From the cleaners, to the entertainment staff, to the desk staff, to the waiters/waitresses, to the general manager (who took the time to stop and talk to us). We felt like VIPs. I feel safe at this resort. I will be back in 2026!

Few quests hence few services

There was only 140 or so guests most rooms were empty. Very quiet, food the worse I have experienced and travel 3 times a year to Cuba.The al carts were horrible. Beach amazing beds comfortable and housekeeping came each day. Entertainment not so good.

Had the time of our lives

Our first trip together, for our anniversary no less, was top notch, start to finish! Couldn't be more thankful to the Valentin CAYO Cruz locals, staff, bartenders, housekeepers, ZEUS crew, cooks, management, bus drivers, tour guides etc. They were attentive, genuine, respectful, friendly, humorous, hardworking, and endearing.

Highly recommend!

I went to Valentin cayo cruz with my fiancee and our two friends and we had an absolutely amazing time, the staff were all fantastic and went above and beyond! They even took my friend and I out fishing while the girls had a day at the beach which was beautiful by the way. The pools and pool bar were all great no issues at all. We did 3 of the a la carte dinners and they weren’t bad but honestly the buffet is the way to go for the most part. The snack bar had better fries than we get back home in Canada and the ham and cheese sandwiches were unreal. We plan to make it a yearly trip for the 4 of us if not more frequent. The staff made us feel right at home and we have nothing but positive things to say from bartenders to waiters to even maintenance staff I would highly recommend Valentin cayo Cruz for anybody looking for a nice getaway and a relaxing vacation!

Amazing resort

As usal in Cuba the service is excellent. The rooms are spacious and always clean. The grounds are well maintained. The beach is beautiful. My only critism is that there should be washrooms closer to the beach.
