Pretty resort

The hotel and grounds were nice. The beach is rocky and shallow. We had no problem getting lounges at the beach or pool. The room was clean. Yes we had 3 cockroach visitors. The steakhouse and Route 66 was good. The Senses Bob Marley dinner and show was excellent. The buffet was small and they were unable to keep it stocked up the trays were too small. It was better to go to the Marlin for breakfast. As well the buffet is not open 8am to 11am we were denied entry at 10:30 because they close at 1 [... read more]1. The staff were amazing!

First time to Jamaica

This was my first time to Jamaica and I will definitely return. Grounds kept clean, food was excellent, staff very attentive and a great experience overall. The rooms were slightly dated but the staff was doing repairs and painting daily while we were there. I found the coral springs lobby smelt better than the ocean Eden lobby (somewhat smelt like mold). I’m sure they will fix this. The steakhouse was excellent (try the cheesecake). Great resort

The hotel is very modern and beautiful. The room is stunning. Bathroom with the double shower was great. Very comfortable bed. Housekeeping did an amazing job. Rooms cleaned thoroughly everyday. Best housekeeping I have seen at any resort. We had privilege and enjoyed the perks. The Hot tub on the balcony was used daily and we really enjoyed that. The food was great no complaints. À la carts were all impressive. The only resorts that we consider a five star for food that we have been to is the [... read more] Bahia’s in Mayan Rivera Mexico. The staff seemed friendly enough . The staff jn the privilege pool area do not let you know perks you have access to. We saw someone ordering from a menu to have food delivered to pool. We were not aware of that option till we saw that the day we were leaving. The beach is really beautiful we wore shoes as it’s rocky till you get out farther. The only drawback is the lack of shade from the sun . You have to get up very early to get a seat with shade from sun . We would go back to this resort for sure.

Amazing Resort

The Ocean Eden Bay half of the resort is adult only and you have access to the family friendly side too. We have stayed at resorts where the pictures were great but the reality did not match. This is NOT the case here, the resort is just as beautiful as the pictures or even better! Just as important is the food. The buffet restaurant is quite good, my wife had a fresh amulet made for her every morning. I generally had the jerk sausage, some eggs and granola with yogurt and fruit. There [... read more] was so much we did not try. My wife did take her own tea bags, she likes plain old King Cole tea and everyone seems to provide specialty teas and that is not her thing. Not a big deal at all, but if you like a specific type of tea, pack a few bags. Lunch was similar in that we generally went to the buffet. There is a burger hut by the water park. The burger was good, but I loved there crispy fries. Now on to dinner. There is several restaurants that also available. We ate the Bluemoon Restaurant, Sakura (Oriental) and the Steak House. All were fantastic. Unfortunately the hurricane move/removed a lot of the sand at the beach. We did not swim, it was too rocky, but I did do some snorkeling. The beach is somewhat small, it is limited to the width of the resort as the resort. We did not have any issues getting chairs at the pool, we are early risers so maybe we just got there early enough. We did not make a special effort to get them, we always had breakfast first and then just made our way to the pool. Most of the time we even had loungers that were under the cabanas at the edge to be in the shade. I am not a beer drinker, but the beer choices did seem to be rather limited. Cocktails of all sorts were much more prevalent. I did have to ask to have more soda than rum. They do pour liberally! There is lots of noise on the internet about not using the safe and thefts. We did not have any of that. We did purchase a small personal travel/beach safe for our cash and passports and put that in the safe. We never felt unsafe ever. There is an Air Canada and WestJet desk next to the main lobby. It was easy to get answers, like when to be in the lobby on departure day. As well we used the AC agent to book us some excursions. Paid in CDN and gave us some comfort that the drivers and events were safe and insured. All and all, the best all inclusive resort that I have ever stayed at. My wife has even talked about going back.

Loved our vacay!

We enjoyed everything about the resort. Staff are super friendly, helpful and really go out of their way to make sure that you have a wonderful stay. Great variety of food & entertainment. Beds are comfortable and rooms are cleaned and stocked daily. Pool and lazy river are cool, but refreshing. The beach is definitely small, and quite rocky. We couldn’t really lounge there because it was windy everyday. Not sure if that’s the norm. The only suggestion I have is that they stop, or at least cut b [... read more]ack on the games and chatter around the pool all afternoon. It becomes annoying. Just play reggae music, relaxing music, or even have quiet time.

Absolutely fantastic stay! From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, professional, and incredibly helpful. The room was spotless, beautifully designed, and very comfortable, with attention to every little detail. Clean, well maintained and Comfortable Resort

My husband and I vacationed here for a week. Very clean and well maintained hotel. Rooms were great, loved the hanging egg chair. Bed was comfy and the shower was great. Loved our balcony. Pool was lovely with lots of lounge chairs. Beach was awful, basically no where to swim. BRING WATERSHOES. The restaurants were delicious on the Eden side. Lots of variety but it's a VERY Americanized resort so if you're looking for Jamaican culture, not the place. Staff were lovely, very friendly and helpful. [... read more] Be aware that if they try to tell you about the Privilege Membership, it's a total sales pitch for 2 hours and they are very good at playing the games with you. Missed our orientation because we thought the sales pitch was our orientation. Turned us off.

Beautiful Resort with One Drawback

I had a fantastic stay at Ocean Eden Bay. The resort’s modern and clean rooms, well maintained grounds, and friendly staff made for a wonderful experience. Plus, the weather was perfect! The food was excellent, and as someone with celiac disease, I really appreciated the gluten-free options available at every restaurant, including the buffet. Unlike other large resorts where getting to the beach or a restaurant can take ages, everything here was within a quick 6-7 minute walk, which was a huge plus. The lazy river was also a fun activity, especially in the late afternoon when it was mostly adults. However, my biggest complaint was the shortage of pool and beach chairs. Since I was on vacation, it would have been nice to sleep in until 8:30 or 9 a.m., but by then, every chair was already taken. I spoke with a woman who said she went to the beach at 5:45 a.m., only to find that every chair had been "reserved" with towels. At the pool, a group of five women had taken ten chairs. They offered us one and proceeded to tell us they were saving the chairs for their husbands—who were off golfing for the entire day. This made it nearly impossible to fully relax, as we were constantly on the lookout for available chairs. Even when we did find one, I worried that our belongings might be moved while we were in the water. The resort truly needs to address this issue, as many guests were frustrated by it. Unfortunately, this would be the only reason I might hesitate to return. Otherwise, everything else was absolutely lovely!

Amazing resort

Loved everything about this hotel. Food was amazing. Staff were incredible. Beach and views were wow. Do not read the negative reviews and go. I will definitely be returning in the near future.Can not wait!!

Beautiful Resort

My husband and I had the most incredible experience at this resort! We had exceptional service, exciting entertainment and wonderful dining during our stay. We are sincerely thankful for the outstanding service given to us from Samantha during our check in. This young lady deserves a promotion! We were completely happy with her warm, friendly service. Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

Group trip

The property of Ocean Eden Bay is absolutely stunning from the moment you entered the lobby. A good variety of food, a la cartes were easy to book even for our group of 16. The rooms were spacious and all face the pool with a nice swing in your balcony. The pool is very large with multiple raised areas to bathe. The problem was boredom and a terrible beach.. The entertainment was the same every night just a different costume. Entertainment at the pool was learning a dance day after day 9-11, [... read more] nothing from 12-3 then often someone playing an instrument like a violin for almost an hour. They do have a foam party once a week that the entire pool enjoys but only once a week. The bars around the pool often ran out of ice or commonly requested items. The beach is very small, we were not given any service for drinks. All watersports closed around 11 due to wind which they said happens often. The water is almost all coral you have to have water shoes and still be very careful to find a clear spot to stand. It is super shallow not conducive to swimming. The resort stands alone so no beach walking. The staff on the other hand were very friendly and I felt completely safe on the property.

As advertised

Susan ,recommended this resort as I was looking for a week in place where I could chill,read and unwind. Unlike some reviews I've read the staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. "YA MON". Never an issue getting into a la carte restaurants and lots of variety. Not sure food was 5 star quality but that's common with most resorts. You also need to get your lounger early in morning a recurring problem that happens at every resort . I would definitely consider returning again

This was a great resort

The grounds are very well kept the pools were always clean a little on the cool side for my liking. We found the ocean was warmer than the pool. The beaches were kept very clean. The rooms are big enough. They were clean just a short of bath towels, the food was excellent wide variety lots of restaurants to choose from and very tasty the staff were extremely friendly always willing to help

Lots of fun & tons of amenities

Rooms are a little tired and rough. Really great food and selection, excellent service. Love the restaurant street set up. The disco is a blast ? Beach is very natural, maybe a bit rocky so bring water shoes. The best watersports services on the beach for kayaking and glass bottom boat was a highlight too.

Could have been better

The music was terrible. I'm from Toronto and I heard more drake at the resort than I have heard in my life. I also found the woman employees were not friendly and made me feel uncomfortable. We had also requested a room closer to our friends, but instead we were really far apart. They also provided a room with 1 bed for my friend and I. When again, we specifically asked for 2 beds. Will never go back! My husband and I had such high hopes

TLDR: This resort is NOT safe or secure! Do NOT trust the staff. Do NOT trust that the safe in your room is secure. If you are currently at, or going to this resort, keep ALL your valuables on you at all times and not in your room! Search these reviews for keyword "security" Full story: We arrived on a Sat evening. The instant we arrived, staff were on us immediately about buying things. I was not even checked in yet and some lady was pressuring us with sales and demanding we attend a breakfa [... read more]st meeting the following morning so they could "make their commission". I politely declined the breakfast meeting, stating I was on vacation and not making appointments. The following morning the same woman called our room and woke us up before 8 am asking us to meet her in the lobby for the meeting. We declined again and were later forced to go to the lobby to tell her to leave us alone the rest of the trip. On the Wednesday of our trip, while getting ready to go for lunch, two men knocked on our door saying "room service" and before we could even get to the door to answer, they let themselves into our room. Upon seeing my wife, one man was visibly startled and immediately stated they had the wrong room and left. I exited the room and took photos of these men. They were NOT in uniform and did NOT have any room service items with them. One man left as soon as I came out and took his picture, the other was photographed speaking/coordinating with our cleaning lady. Our room had already been cleaned, mini bar stocked and no room service was ordered. After their departure, our keys no longer worked on our door. We had them reprogrammed TWICE and they still didn't work. We reported the incident and we were immediately getting the brush off from management saying they don't know how long it would take to get security to speak to and fill a report but it could be a long time. I demanded to speak to security and said I would wait. When security eventually walked us to our room, even THEIR keys would not open our room and they were forced to remove the access panel and bypass the lock. They stated several times that it was a "coincidence" that our lock was no longer working IMMEDIATELY after two strange men (who security admitted were not employees after seeing my photos) let themselves into our room. The security officer told us that if we felt unsafe, we could change rooms and I asked what the point would be if they have access to any room they want? The security officer said we should put our belongings in the room safe and I asked her to check her resort's google reviews because we just had while waiting for her, and several of them state people have had items stolen from their safes. (This is beyond the fact that resort staff have the ability to open safes for guests who forget their codes) The security officer stated guest services would be in touch with us, but nobody ever said a word to us about this on a customer service level. After this incident, we made sure to keep our valuables with us, to include our credit cards. We then began leaving the "do not disturb" sign on our door and discretely marking the door to know if it had been opened. Of course, we later found that people had again been in our rooms late in the evening on the Thursday! Every single staff member we spoke to about this incident did not seem surprised by the intruders at all! Several other guests from our particular building that we spoke to also got locked out of their rooms ON THE SAME DAY! More "coincidences"?! Beyond the security issues, the service from staff is hit or miss. Sales pressure is near constant as you walk around the resort.. from your standard excursions and meal upgrades etc, to all kinds of staff, including grounds keepers, trying to sell me drugs (one guy even followed me into the bathroom) and lifeguards trying to sell us a floaty. I will NEVER come back to this resort. This whole experience makes me want to avoid the whole country moving forward. Vacation is supposed to be fun, not scary. DO NOT GO TO THIS RESORT.

Good vacation but

The food was good and lots of choice. We found bugs in our room a few times even though we never brought food inside our room. The beach is really rocky. Need sandals to go in the ocean. Half of the staff was great the other half was jaded. Really windy by building designs.

Not a 5 star

service is not even close to a 5 star rooms are very worn for a new resort beach is a 1 star understaffed food is 3 star very unhappy work force time share sale people l have traveled extensively and can adjust to any resort, but this resort needs a new valuation

Fantastic vacation

The resort was very nice overall. The room was beautiful and clean. The pool was nice and big with lots of lounge chairs available. The beach was small but beautiful. You had to get up very early to get a good spot. The restaurants were good if they were open. Unfortunately we didn't get to dine at the Italian because without notice they decided it was reservation only. When you tried to book...it was booked up. A big thank you to Alicea from the Marlin restaurant bar for all her service on the beach. Everyone works very hard to make you happy. Mike's coffee shop is a must...great coffee and desserts.

Food and entertainment

The resort is beautiful, spacious and grounds kept clean. The only downside I would say the when they painted and tiled parts off the resort its a little sloppy. The food and entertainment were by far the best I've encountered at a resort. Beach is ok ,been to much better but everything else makes uo for it. Would recommend
