CHECK IN WAS A NIGHTMER..ALWAYS ASK FOR 2 FLOOR OR HIGHTER BECAUSE I AM A SENIOR TRAVELLING ALONE.I WAS TOLD THER WAS NO ELEVATORS AND WAS NOT ASKED IF I COULD CLIMB STAIRS, I WAS GIVEN ROOM 7122 WHICHWAS ON THE BOTTOM FLOOR. NOT WHAT I WANTED. 10 FEET FROM MY ROOM WAS AN ELEVATOR AND I FOUND MANY MORE THE INFO FOR 2OR 3 FLOOR WAS CLEARLY WRITTEN ON FORM FROM THE TRAVEL AGENT
THE BEDROOM WAS OLD AND TIRED...LOTS OF BLACK MOLD ON THE BEDSKIRT..CHIPPED COUNTER TOP IN BATROOM..CLOSET DOOR DID NOT[... read more] CLOSE. ROOM NOT MADE UP UNTIL 5PM AND ONE DAY NOT AT ALL UNTIL I CONTACTED FRONT DESK AT 5PM
THE BUFFET WAS JUST THAT..TAKE OR LEAVE IT...NOTHING SPECIAL...SAME OLD THING EVERY DAY. BEING ALONE I DID NOT GO TO THE OTHER RESTAURANTS
THE GROUNDS WERE CLEAN AND MOST OF THE STAFF WERE FRIENDLY. THE STAFF AT THE LAST BAR BEFORE THE BEACH WERE REALLY KIND TO ME,
CHECK OUT WAS NOT VERY POLITE BUT I REALLY DID NOT CARE AT THAT POINT. I TALKED TO MANY PEOPLE AT THE RESORT AND THEY HAD THE SAME OPINION AS I HAD. I WOULD GIVE THIS RESORT A 3 OUT OF 10. I THINK THAT IS A FAIR ASSESSMENT

Family-friendly with great staff, but in need of maintenance
We just returned from a one-week stay at Serenade in the Dominican Republic, traveling with young kids. Overall, I’d rate it about a 6.5/10 — we had a good time, but there are definitely some areas that need improvement.
Pros:
The staff were absolutely lovely — friendly, warm, and great with kids. The resort is very family-friendly, which made traveling with a toddler and a baby much easier. The water play area was a big highlight: there’s a fun splash zone for little ones and larger water s[... read more]lides for older kids, which kept everyone entertained. We also really appreciated how actively the beach was maintained — staff were constantly working to manage the seaweed, which made a noticeable difference.
Cons:
The biggest issue is that the resort feels quite run down and in need of maintenance.
Our room had no hot or even warm water for the duration of our stay, and the mini fridge didn’t work. We reported both issues, but unfortunately they were never resolved. Communication was also a challenge, as the staff answering the phone didn’t speak enough English to fully understand the maintenance requests.
Around the resort, there were several maintenance concerns:
• Public washroom stall locks were rusty and didn’t align, making them difficult or impossible to lock
• Broken tiles around the pool bar with sharp edges and exposed adhesive (a safety concern)
• The kids’ play area, while very fun, was noticeably dirty and could really benefit from a deep clean and proper sanitization
The food was okay — the buffets always had enough variety that we never went hungry, but overall the flavors were fairly bland.
We didn’t get a chance to try the à la carte restaurants or attend the evening entertainment, as our toddler’s schedule didn’t quite allow for it.
Final thoughts:
This resort has a lot of potential, especially for families, thanks to the great staff and kid-friendly amenities. However, the lack of maintenance and upkeep really holds it back. With some improvements in those areas, it could be a much better experience.

A bit tired and dissappointing
First of all, our family was at this resort 2 years ago & had an amazing time. This time we were disappointed in the appearance of the resort. In just 2 years we were shocked at the condition of the resort. Our room had a sewer smell, the sink tap was rusted, the shower backed up each time we used it. Our children's room didn't have hot water, only lukewarm & no coffee service.
The food was abundant but had no seasoning or taste. The bathroom around the resort didn't have a door that would c[... read more]lose properly & the lack of pool loungers meant a 6 am alarm to secure shade during the day. The app to book dinner reservations was hit & miss to work & difficult to book. The staff were great, very friendly and a bright spot in this disappointing experience

Good family vacation place
The hotel and grounds were clean and staff very friendly and helpful. Big enough with plenty to do but small enough to walk everywhere. The beach was lovely, shallow for a long way and no dangerous waves.
We did get whiffs every once in a while while outside of a sewage smell ??? Although there was tremendous choice at the buffet I was very careful of choices( eggs and some meat seemed undercooked). I drank only bottled water and still came down with travellers sickness( as did a few other fam[... read more]ily members). All in all a good budget friendly vacation.

Terrible Resort
Want food poisoning, rude staff, and barely edible meals? This resort delivers all three. We saw staff treat multiple families horribly, and heard the same complaints from nearly every guest we spoke to. After hundreds of resorts around the world, this was by far the worst — we won’t be coming back..

Terrible Avoid at all costs
Hotel Serenade Punta Cana was a terrible experience. Rude staff, terrible food that seemed reused, broken room service app, and poor service. My wife got food poisoning, and guests were treated like inconveniences.

Nice Comfortable resort
This resort is on the compact side ( not a bad thing) easy to get around. One of the nicest beaches ive seen wide with ample natural vegetation for shade and lots of umbrellas, soft sand. The pools are large with quiet and noisy ends Kids pool in between. There are quite a few kids at this resort, but there seems to be enough entertainment for them that you don't notice them that much. Over all the place is clean and well kept, but it could use some paint and love in some areas, just cosmetic re[... read more]ally. The food is good with a decent amount of choices. The a la carte restaurants are nice but other than the steak house not a great deal better than the buffet. The servers need more training on sit down dining etiquette As with most places in the Caribbean the trend continues here with very mediocre house wine and the option to buy a bottle that is so overpriced it feels like assault. The bar tenders free pour so the Daquiri you get on the beach may be very different from the one you get in the lobby. Over all decent value for your vacation dollar, but not in the top 5 of downs south resorts I have visited

Very good vacation
My wife and I stayed at this resort for 10 days Nov 30 to Dec 10th 2025 and it was a very good experience for us. We had a swim out room and it was nice to have the quiet away from the main pools. We spent most of the day on the beach it was very nice beach and no problem finding chairs or palapas for some shade. The water was a little murky in some areas but the preferred area just a few metres away was clear. water was very calm on some days and it was only waist to chest high. The food was a[... read more]lso good we ate at the steakhouse twice it was very good we had ribeye and i asked for it well done tender and juicy. We also booked the Italian twice and enjoyed it as well the food was good i had the lasagna one night and chicken Parmesan and it was also good. the second visit my wife asked for an alfredo sauce and they accommodated. We booked the Japanese restaurant and it was a fun dinner lots of food and laughs. The buffet was good as well lots of great options to choose from. It gets busy so we found to be there shortly after it opened to get hot food and a good seat and little line ups for stations. The beach has a food truck and the food was great as well we ate most lunches there at the beach . they served hot dogs and fries and hamburgers and fries. The bars were also very good and well placed throughout the resort. service was fast and friendly. One of our favorite places was the coffee bar in the main lobby lots of great coffees and drinks available. we would grab or coffees and hang out in the lobby area for a while before going to dinner. There is a designated smoking area up at the lounge as well my wife is a smoker and most people were respectful with smoking in designated areas. We did not bother to attend any shows in the theatre this trip. Our room was well maintained and clean the Air conditioning works great. We brought tipping money and we did not tip every time but sometimes and especially when we had great service. A nice thing about the resort is that it is only 15 minutes or so from the airport. I would rate this resort as a 4 star and would return in the future.

Good stay with some drawbacks
The grounds are well kept.
The towels in the bathrooms are very old and rough.
Without wearing shoes, this is not the place where you can walk the beach forever.
Huge buffet and good food.
They were unable to accommodate two side by side rooms (as requested six months in advance) until half way through our stay.
Handle in bathroom broke and was subsequently locked in the bathroom for half an hour before they opened it and then asked me for money.
The waterslides were fun.
Beds were[... read more] comfortable and so were the pillows.

Honest and Full Hotel Review from a Family of 7!
I recently stayed at the Serenade Hotel with my partner, our three children (ages 8, 11, and 12), and my parents. Our experience had both highlights and disappointments, and I want to provide an honest review to help others decide if this resort is the right choice for them. In my opinion, this is not a 5-star property—closer to a 3.5/4-star.
Lobby: The lobby is spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with comfortable seating. However, it lacks air conditioning, making it uncomfortably hot at t[... read more]imes.
Front Desk: Staff were warm and welcoming, both during check-in/out and when answering questions. Special thanks to Cruz, who went above and beyond with her knowledge and helpfulness.
Hotel Room: We stayed in the Luxury Master Suite, which was beautiful, spacious, and had a fantastic pool and grounds view. Beds were comfortable, though the pillows were very thin and unsupportive. Bathrooms had a nice design, but the lack of doors or curtains on showers made things awkward, especially with children who want privacy. Towels and robes were rough, discolored, and not hotel-quality—my mother had to request better replacements. My parents initially had a garden view room with an unpleasant stench, but the staff quickly accommodated a move to a better location.
Maid Service: This was disappointing. Rooms were often not cleaned until late in the day, despite leaving requests early. Floors were not swept or mopped, a burnt-out bathroom light was never fixed, tissues weren’t replenished, and furniture clearly wasn’t moved when cleaning (we found old wrappers under beds). Despite tipping generously, the level of detail was lacking. On the plus side, the minibar was restocked daily.
Buffet: Food was repetitive and mediocre, though the crepe and omelet stations were highlights. Service varied—some staff were slow, but Carlos Dominguez stood out as excellent. Seating comfort also varied depending on where you sat, since fan coverage was limited.
À la Carte Restaurants: Although advertised as unlimited, we were limited to three reservations. The Asian Teppanyaki was outstanding, while the steakhouse (the cut) served generous portions but took much longer to dine at—challenging with kids. Restaurants were conveniently located near the lobby.
Lobby Café: Great cappuccinos, pastries, and friendly staff. A nice early-morning option
Maintenance: Disappointing for a 5-year-old property. We noticed broken pool tiles, unstable railings, ceiling damage, and even a collapsed ceiling panel with exposed light
fixtures in one washroom. The theatre’s large screen was badly damaged, distracting from performances. Several outdoor showers weren’t functioning.
Pool & Bars: The pools are beautifully designed, but chlorine levels were excessively high, causing skin, toe, and hair issues, and even staining swimsuits. The waterslides were a major highlight for the kids. Swim-up bar staff (Jeremy, Domingo, Alex/Alejandro, Raul) were especially friendly.
Snack/Sports Bar: A nice, air-conditioned space with food variety, though I felt unwell after one meal (nachos and cheese)
Beach: Pretty, but overrun with seaweed, making swimming difficult most days. Credit to the hardworking beach staff who tried to clear it and to the attentive security and lifeguard presence.
Entertainment: One of the best parts of our stay. The entertainment team was fun, engaging, and offered a wide variety of activities. Evening shows were enjoyable, though the 9:30 p.m. start is too late for families with children—an earlier start would be appreciated. The Friday night white party was fantastic and well done.
Excursions/Destination Services: Unfortunately, our booked excursion was a flop. However, Luisa from Destination Services was phenomenal—she advocated for us and secured partial reimbursement. Highly recommend seeking her guidance when booking tours.
Hotel Website: Easy to use, with good details on restaurants, menus, and bookings via QR code.
Overall: This hotel has beautiful grounds, fun entertainment, and some wonderful staff, but service inconsistencies, maintenance issues, and lower-quality details prevent it from being a true 5-star experience. While I don’t regret our stay, it’s not a property I would likely return to.

All inclusive
Very nice resort, rooms keep clean, service not bad. However, they do not provide soap for shower, they said you have to use hair shampoo on your body. Towels are very old. Breakfast is reparative. Entertainment is not the best, the daily events are very boring. Lobby bar are excellent, very polite and friendly bar tenders and waitresses

10/10 Experience – Exceeded All Expectations!
My stay at Serenade Punta Cana Beach & Spa Resort was nothing short of amazing and truly exceeded my expectations in every way.
From the moment I arrived, I was impressed by how clean and well-maintained the entire resort was. The grounds, buildings, and rooms were spotless—no garbage anywhere—and everything looked modern, fresh, and up to date. I was also pleasantly surprised that I didn’t experience any mosquito issues during my stay.
The views throughout the resort are stunning, and the[... read more] atmosphere was both relaxing and vibrant. The food was absolutely delicious—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. There were multiple dining options, and every meal I had was impressive. The drinks were equally fantastic, with a wide variety and excellent quality.
The staff at Serenade truly made the experience even more special. Everyone I encountered was friendly, respectful, kind, and incredibly helpful. Their genuine hospitality made me feel welcome and well cared for at all times.
The entertainment was lively and fun, adding an extra level of enjoyment to the overall experience. Whether you wanted to join in or just watch, there was always something entertaining happening.
While there was quite a bit of seaweed on the beach, I was really impressed by how diligently the staff worked every day to clean it up. Their consistent efforts made a big difference and ensured that the beach remained as enjoyable as possible.
Overall, my experience at Serenade Punta Cana was a perfect 10/10. I would absolutely recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing, fun, and high-quality getaway. I’m already looking forward to coming back!

Amazing week away!
We had an amazing week away at Serenade Punta Cana. The resort was beautiful and accessible, the food was amazing, it was clean and the staff were wonderful. Louise Endean at TripCentral was incredible in helping us book this vacation. We had a really small window when we could travel and 5 family members (one of whom is in a wheelchair). She send me a number of options the same day and she helped me book our private accessible transfer. All round it was a wonderful experience.

Amazing resort!
From the time I arrived until departure 6 days later, I felt I was in paradise! The staff were extremely friendly and all seemed so happy to be working there. The attention to detail in every aspect was very impressive. The grounds were immaculate and the room was very clean. There was a constant rotation of cleaning the seaweed off the beach. The buffets were so abundant with so many varieties of food, after 6 days, I had still not tried everything. For the first day I didn't feel like I'm welcome
Service it was one of the biggest problems
Manager of the resort was aware of all the issues we have but he was to busy enjoying his own life
That trip was very important to me and I left disappointed and very unhappy

Awesome family stay
The master suite has an excellent amount of space for our family of 5. The room was clean, spacious, and the beds were comfortable. Shower pressure was excellent! The staff were so friendly, always kept the mini fridge stocked, and were helpful. The food st the restaurants and buffet were great! We spent so much time in the pools and loved the beach… no complaints! We’ll be back!

Not great, especially for the cost.
The beach is very nice and good for swimming. The pools are also nice with good swim-up bars. The rooms are great too, good size, clean and just like the photos.
The big problem with this resort is the restaurants and the restaurant service. You absolutely must have a reseration or you will be refused, but the problem is that it is IMPOSSIBLE to get a reservation. We had to complain bitterly to upper mangement and make a big fuss in order to for them to give us a reservation. But that's[... read more] not the worst of it: we noticed that the restaurants are literally only about half full! So they are only booking about half the capacity of each restaurant! And then since they don't take walk-ins, if someone does not show up for their reservation, that table remains empty! So if you don't mind eating at the buffet 3 times a day, every day, then you're fine (this is probably cheaper for the resort, so that's why they are doing it). But don't count on being able to eat at the restaurants every night, it won't happen unless you are prepared to kick up a HUGE fuss like we did. Also, you will be aggressively harassed to attend a timeshare presentation, which is super annoying (I have been to many resorts that do not do this). They try to get you to go in the usual timeshare style whereby they don't tell you what you are getting into. Since they don't give up (as is always the case with timeshare salespeople) you will be fighting them off daily.

Great place, some needed tweaks.
Great spot. Very clean, perfect size for a family, comfortable beds and rooms, great cocktails, buffets were great. Food for all dietary requirements. It’s very difficult to get reservations at the a la carte restaurants unless you can eat at 930pm. And they were never ever busy when we went by to see if the could squeeze us in and it was Xmas week. They aren’t properly staffed so they don’t allow many bookings. Funny enough the one you have to pay $15 pp is always available. more activities [... read more]are needed for kids that are 6 or 7 +. We were with a group of five active kids and they only had a couple things on that appealed to them. Soccer games, kids volleyball, competitions etc would have been easy to offer. beach is nice but very shallow so great for tiny kids but not for bigger kids. we had a fantastic holiday and most of the staff were helpful and nice. Coca Cola and sexy
Boy and all the staff of the restaurant by the pool - itzen where we went every morn and lunch for buffet. They were awesome. Also - very very weird that the shower has a window / glass wall so zero privacy from others in your room. I would send kids to balcony
