Nice Stay

Nice resort, aesthetically it's great everything feels new, rooms are nice and comfy for Cuban standards. Pool is nice and the beach is amazing. The only thing i would say is there is not much going on in terms of activities.. specially for kids. As for food, the buffet was okay. We booked the A la Carte restaurants but they were not nice, similar to the buffet and one of them was not even open when we showed up. Also, there are many bars but food wise, you only have the buffet, the bars/small s [... read more]nack bars don't have much to eat.

Awesome hotel

Nice clean room, food is simple, but good, beach is great, staff are friendly! Had a great week! The 24 hour snacks, drinks, coffees, for in between meals! Drinks and beers were ice cold, very nice hotel

Lovely Resort

Room was spacious and clean with mini fridge, Keurig coffee maker. Grounds were well kept. Fabulous beach. Fair selection of food. Not too Much quality entertainment at night. A little bit of distance to walk to Varadero Boulevard.

Ok for Cuba

We only had good care in our room from the maidens the first 2 days, even after leaving tips every day we finished by having to go ask for a broom to clean our floors, had to ask to change our towels even if they were on the floor/wet. Food was basic, nothing special. Even the menu a la carte was deceiving, from small tiny portions, to having to book 24hours in advance. Would recommend if you will go out in the city to eat and party!

Beautiful resort

We had great stay at Sol Caribe Beach. The resort is located on the most beautiful part of Varadero beach and we thoroughly enjoyed it. There were always beach hats available and the loungers are comfortable. Rooms were clean and the entire place is well maintained. The food was okay, mostly repetitive, but we.were always able to find something to satisfy our hunger. Once again we were very impressed with everything and everyone at the Sol Caribe Beach Varadero. Before even arriving Yolanda and her team (Ismary, Laritza, Annie, Grisel) had everything ready for our arrival...early check in, our 3 rooms close to each other and a la carte reservations made. A special thank you to Lily who got us checked in quickly so that we could start enjoying everything about this great hotel right away. She went out of their way to make us feel back at home. The animation team is phenomenal. Their energy is infectious from morning until evening. Whether it was yoga on the beach, aqua aerobics, beach volleyball, sports in the pool and dancing by the pool they managed to engage guests of all ages without being intrusive. Nights brought even more magic, talented shows, live music, themed events that were fun but never forced. They clearly care about what they do, and it shows. Special thank you to Candy, Yansey, Jonathan and DJ Jose the time you spent with us will not be forgotten. Bar staff deserve a standing ovation. We started every morning with a delicious iced latte made by Adel or Yoslady at coffee corner, best start to your day and always made with special touch and smile. Han and Yoilan took care of us everyday at the pool and Addier and Otto at the beach bar. They always remembered what we liked to drink and didn't let our cups go empty. Drinks were always served with a smile, and quick service so you never have to wait long. Snack Bar is a great stop for lunch or a snack if you didn't want to go to the buffet, offering ham and cheese, hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken sandwiches and fries Julio, Greter and Janet were great and remembered what we liked. The grounds are immaculate. Lush landscaping, manicured flower beds, and plenty of shady spots to enjoy the view. The pools sparkle and are cleaned daily. Common areas smell fresh. Rooms are spotless—cleaned every day, with fresh linens, towels, and thoughtful attention to detail. Without hesitation I will return the Sol Caribe Beach Varadero this is a 5 star hotel/service in my opinion. I can't wait to return for another great experience

Disappointing experience

From start to finish, our experience at this hotel was deeply disappointing. Upon arrival, we had to wait 3 hours and 30 minutes just to get our room. When we finally checked in, the room was infested with tiny ants. The food was another major letdown. The buffet selection was extremely limited and lacked taste. On two separate occasions, the dinner food was actually off. As a result, my husband, my 6-year-old son, and I all suffered upset stomachs — my son even vomited three times. We did [... read more]n’t bother complaining during our stay because the reception staff never appeared helpful; they seemed disinterested in their jobs and in assisting guests. On our last day, with our flight at 10:10 pm, we requested a late check-out. Since regular check-out was at noon, we were told we’d have to pay 20 Canadian dollars per hour to keep the room. We reluctantly paid for an extra 5 hours. Later, at the airport, we spoke to other guests from the same hotel who told us they were allowed to keep their rooms for free during their late check-outs. So why were we charged? This inconsistency, combined with the poor service, unclean room, and unsafe food, left us with a very bad impression. We will not be returning and cannot recommend this hotel.

Disappointed

My safe in the room had low battery. I had to call 6 times to get it open. The first time, the technician said that the batteries were low. He just reversed them. The next day again and it was like that for 6 days in a row. They finally put new batteries on the day before leaving. On some of the occasion I had to wait in my room 3-4 hours to get it open. My money was locked in the safe. I even missed breakfast twice. The food was not at par for an hotel that qualified themself has luxury. The restaurant a la carte food was horrible and very little choice at the snack bar, like overcooked pasta with plain tomato sauce. I thought Mélia hotel was luxury. I don’t think so. Never again. Book Iberostar, it’s much better. They ruined my holiday. I was very mad and they didn’t even apologize.

Experience at Sol Caribe Varadero

The resort in pics and TikTok looks new but upon arrival it is dated and worn. The rooms are basic and in need of a repaint and new bedding. The shower didn't work so we had to use the handheld all week.

10/10 Resort!

Amazing resort. Had everything we needed and wanted. Had amazing staff that were friendly and welcoming and very helpful with any mixups Sunwing send our way! Resort was big enough that our room felt separate from the other people yet close enough to everything to not feel excluded. The beach way amazing and entertainment on the beach as well as all over the resort was amazing. I'm running out of synonyms for "amazing" because it was awesome

Excellent vacation

Sol Caribe is a wonderful place that suits us very much. Excellent service all around and the room was very nice and spacious. Always something to choose from the buffet and of grounds and the beach were fantastic. This was our second visit in less than a year and plan to be back again!

Beautiful Resort Great Time

Well maintained modern hotel with nice grounds and pools. The rooms were minimalist, clean with sturdy comfy beds and pillows. Neutral tile work with nicely accents in the room and throughout the hotel and pool. The food was just ok and lacked variety but plentiful. Service was great but shortages including Pinacolada, no Guava juice, Coke or Sprite made it somewhat dissatisfying for me. The red and white wines were nice. Avoid

Rooms nothing like pictures. Mold and mildew in the rooms even though there has been work done in the rooms.Some renovations mostly bathrooms tiles... the mold is in the air conditioner unit they need cleaning out.(still the old ceiling ones) The air conditioner did not work very strong and made a thud, thud,thud.. when it shut off and on. I read reviews before I went. I have to say it is true they don't help you at the front desk as far as where your room is located in the resort or anything at the resort. No map of the whole resort anywhere to be found and the resort is big spread out. We were in room 1177. Don't go stay away...Now the food horrible, repeative, no sea food describes it best...cuba is not known for food but this is the worst we have had in Cuba EVER...we have stayed in cayo coco at Pullman and was plentiful and seafood galore. Pool was clean but hot not refreshing. At the beach the blue chairs are okay and white chairs are old and uncomfortable.If you want a blue chair you have to get up early and save one. Unfortunately around the beach chairs people use the sand as a huge ashtray! Cigarettes butts everywhere its gross. The only positive the Ocean was beautiful and the water was warm.(Cayo Coco beaches much prettier)

Very nice Resort

I was at this hotel for 10 days, loved it, the beach and site are stunning, water warm and calm during day and get a little bit rougher late afternoon always availability for palapas or shade at the pool The food was good. always something to eat,,,the fruits and ice cream delicious, and was during low season the only think no coke during my stay, so no cuba libre lol The room was very nice, clean with a beautiful view , The entertainment was ok, it needs a little bit more spunk  [... read more].. ;)- Overall no complaint :) recommend this resort valerie

Beautiful compact resort

Beautiful modern clean resort on a gorgeous stretch of beach. Staff are very gracious and attentive. All drinks are very good. Coffee bar is a nice touch too. Lots of nice seating areas inside and out. Food was plentiful during our stay, thoroughly enjoyed our stay as a couple and would definitely return.

Great stay at this modern style resort

Everything in this resort is as advertised. We stayed at the building number one on third floor. There are two elevators for those who don't like climbing the stairs. The room was spacious, modern and clean with two double beds which were very comfortable. The view from the room was fantastic. The bathroom was spacious and modern too. We don't have any complaints regarding bathroom towels, toilet paper and water bottles. Jade, the hard working maid was in charge of our room and she did a great  [... read more]job. We spent most of our time on the beautiful beach. We watched shows in the evening from our balcony. The entertainment ended up at 11p.m. and we had great night sleep. No complaints about food since the change suited us well. The only set back in the buffet restaurant, The Kitchen, is hygiene of dishes. Sometimes there was coffee or lipstik residue in/or on the edges of cups or glasses. Plates did not look clean to me, but that might be a due to the hardness of water. There is also a lack of beach towels which wasn't the issue for us. We used our own beach towels for two days, and we got their beach towels the third day in the morning. We were checking up couple of times per day until they finely got clean towels. Overall we were very satisfied with our stay at this beautiful resort.

Perfect Resort

the rooms were clean ,the food was excellent, the grounds well groomed. The beach was clean ,lots of huts, the activities were abundant and fun the staff extra friendly. My family had a great experience and would return to this resort.

Great resort

We went to Sol Caribe for Christmas. The resort is small and cozy, great for family vacation.Food was good, lots of variety. “Salt and pepper” restaurant was really good. The rest al carte not worth to go, same food at the buffet. They have 2 buffet for lunch, one is really close to the beach which was great and very convenient .Rooms are really nice, very clean and well organized, lots of cabinets , bathroom with nice big shower , comfy beds. No Michael Jackson or Queen show.

Good Resort

Very nice resort in Varadero. I was nicely surprised with this resort. Lots of food and drinks. Lots of international drinks which I did not expect. Salt and pepper a la cart was great. Would recommend to anyone going there. Beach was great. No seaweed like other resorts I have been at. If you are looking for entertainment and shows, not the resort. Didn’t have much going on. Great people as always.

Really Nice Experience

We visited Sol Caribe the week before Christmas as a family of 5. The beach is stunning and there were plenty of chairs available with a nearby beach bar. The weather was better later in the week but overall sunny and warm. The rooms are clean, updated and fairly big. The resort had two nice pools, and a few bars around. We did a day trip through Nexus to Havana which was fun. The best part - the staff at the resort. So friendly, great with kids, just awesome. Overall, this resort is great for an easy vacation and delivers on all the basics without a ton of bells and whistles.
