Riu Republica: Was Good

Room was very well kept 2210. No coffee or towels . Had to ask a few times after room was cleaned. Far walk to the food . Buldings seemed to end and had to go back to find a way to out Food was ok. I was very sick on day 2 3 others where ok. Pool towels could only be handed in after 3 pm Beach was nice, ocean rough. Shows were very good! Sports bar was a mess! Riu Playa Blanca: Great time

The hotel is approx 10 mins from the rio halto airport which is fantastic. Transfer to hotel was simple and quick. Check in was smooth with plenty of people to help. Grounds are immaculate and clean. Pools are great. Very difficult to get loungers unless you are down there at 7:30. Beach is very nice with black sand. Food was plenty and very good with lots of choices. 1 thing I didn’t really like after being to many resorts in many countries was the à la carte restaurant process. Riu Republica: Average

The hotel is huge, rooms are very confusing, could use more elevators, we had to do 40 stairs everytime we went back to our room.. Unfortunately, we were there during students and their spring break. There had to be 500 students there. My biggest disappointment was there no Canadian whiskey? I have never been to a 4 star that advertised international drinks and no Canadian whiskey. The beaches in pools were amazing stuff was friendly. Resort was clean rooms were pretty good and quick to get things through the app. When you ask for them. Riu Ocho Rios: Great time!

We had an amazing time at the Riu Ocho Rios. The hotel staff was friendly, the rooms were clean and the food delicious ? The only complaint we had was it was very difficult to get reservations for the al a carte restaurants. Will definitely come back!

Riu Latino: Riu Latino

The resort is beautiful with plenty of open air spaces, well manicured grounds, three pools and a water slide in a separate pool. The staff are courteous, friendly and helpful. The hotel is very clean and the rooms spacious and modern. The food and drinks were delicious. And the beach runs for more than 10k, easily.

Riu Playa Blanca: Amazing a true 5 star :)

This place is awesome:) Lots of food 24/7 :) Cocktails 24/7 :) Riu app was awesome, super quick to fill your needs, ie more water & beer in room :) Adult pool was wonderful:) Live music daily:) Super clean inside & out :) Friendly staff :) Felt safe on beach & off resort :) Panama & Riu was wonderful:)

We haven't visited Riu Guanacaste since 2020 so there were a lot of changes. The hotel is located in a lovely location, on a beautiful beach, which we love to walk every morning before breakfast. The food is great and the pools are very nice. The new expansions have included some great water slides and special pools for children, unfortunately many of the adults prefer to sit around the older pools with their children and so it has gotten much noisier than it used to be. Riu Guanacaste: Great resort, would return!

Just came back from a week vacation with my husband and three kids- one is a teenager and the other two are toddlers. This resort was amazing, it had something for everyone to do, lots of great outing options, including an animal sanctuary just next door to resort which was very quick and easy to access with the two young kids. They had quite a few cool animals there and my kids loved it. There isn’t a 24hr snack bar so my toddlers would get hungry for a snack by about 10am and there would be [... read more] no where to get food until 12. I had packed containers for snacks on the plane so we ended up using those to pack snacks for the kids from the morning buffet (fruits, croissants, PB and J sandwiches etc) so I’d highly recommend bringing containers to any other toddler parents! That being said, the food was amazing, lots of great options for the kids at the buffet and the smaller restaurants. On Friday nights they have a neon party at the entertainment centre and there are family suites right above it so it was VERY loud on the Friday night. If you’re a light sleeper and they try to put you in a room above the entertainment centre, ask to have your room switched right away before you get settled in or make sure to bring earplugs/sound machines. The water slide park was amazing, the kids and adults all had a blast there. It is quite a walk to it if you’re going from the beach to the slides so if you have younger kids, I’d recommend bringing a stroller or wagon. Staff were great, resort was very clean etc. Would highly recommend!

Riu Playacar: Amazing resort

I loved every thing about this resort. No negative feedback at all. The beach is wonderful and there is always chairs available anytime of the day. The room was very inviting and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Riu Guanacaste: Riu Guanacaste

The hotel was newly renovated; very well decorated and exceptionally clean ! The only draw back was the beaches are dark sand and very hot to walk on therefore you must wear footwear. The other factor is the hotel is not close to anything so transportation to tours, other beaches and towns is a minimum of one hours drive one way

Riu Negril: Awesome hotel

Everything was fresh and new and wonderful and clean. The food was great. The beach was always clean. Only draw back would be the actually location on the bay which makes the water murky sometimes and areas of seagrass, more so than other nearby resorts. But the snorkelling is great there. Highly recommend it. Our tripcentral experience with Luis was great also.

Riu Ocho Rios: First All inclusive

This was the first all inclusive my wife and I have done. We really enjoyed the Rio Ocho Rios food was great resort was great would definitely go back. staff were fantastic and very personable was easy to get figured out where we needed to be.

Riu Guanacaste: Beautifully Redone!

We had a wonderful stay at Riu Guanacaste, Costa Rica! We would definitely return! This resort has be totally redone and it looks amazing!! We found everything to be spotless except for the pool deck at the adults only swim-up bar pool. I don't think it was washed down once during our stay which was disappointing since every other part of the hotel was very clean. The only other thing that was a little disappointing was there wasn't staff cleaning up food/drinks or serving drinks at the adults [... read more] only pool. Not a big deal but we've had it at other Riu's. The staff was friendly. The food was delicious and plentiful. The beach was nice but be prepared for the black sand. It's HOT!! I would definitely recommend this resort!

Riu Negril: Amazing resort !

The staff and the food was amazing ! The resort is clean and everything is close by ! The service is the Best that I have seen ! Definately a 5 stars ! Walk left and the beach is amazing just pass the beach market , also has a nice beach bar outside the resort ! We took a private transportation for airport and activities where he was taking us to local food and things we wanted to see . I recommand Lees Éminent island tours for the best trip of your Life ! Ya mon

Riu Palace Antillas: Just Ok

Beautiful grounds, pool and room. Friendly staff but reluctant and nervous management, liability averse when we let them know of a food poisoning incident (these things happen). Tried to persuade us that we had a virus which it wasn’t. Four days later they sent crackers and Gatorade to our room, presumably as some sort of regretful acknowledgment. Totally missed the mark. Food otherwise was of good quality. Pool room etc very good.

Riu Ocho Rios: Better for families

We were a group of women in their 50s on a girls trip; we found the resort had too many children (not a real complaint as it is a family resort. The only restaurant that we liked was the Italian as we found the others lacking in quality and flavour.

Riu Playa Blanca: Decent Resort

Overall, the resort was very clean and well maintained and the night time entertainment was excellent. The food was decent quality but the buffets didn’t provide much variety throughout the week. The ala cart restaurants did not allow for reservations, was a first come first serve basis and was lined up at opening time with lots of “golden age” guest who you would assume had proper manner and etiquette, but sadly did not. They also followed the same social behaviours with the pool lounge chairs [... read more]. At the guest orientation, we were told that the lounge chairs were not to be reserved before 7am. Two out of three pool lounge chairs were “sold out” well before 6am all seven days of our stay and said “golden agers” occupied these loungers the entire day. This is not the resorts fault, but they could have enforced these rules a bit better. It seemed to be over populated for the amenities they provided. I would happily go back to the Grand DeCameron, Panama over the Riu.

Riu Dunamar: Family had a blast! But it had its issues

Clean, friendly staff, buffet could use a step up. Espresso machines at the buffet broke down often. It took a long time for staff to replenish hot items that were in demand so it had long line ups. The great thing is the restaurants! No reservations needed way in advance. The beach is clean and great! They have fun pools and games. The kids club was fun! So were the parties “The sports bar” needs to be called “the off hours place to give you food since we don’t do room service” and [... read more] I mean it has microwaves for you to heat up cold hamburgers and hot dogs. Lots of great things to do and fun entertainment!
