Staff are amazing

Just came back from a week at the Be Live Collection Punta Cana, a lovely resort, clean, staff is amazing very friendly always trying to get you involved with games and activities, food great, beach area was great, rooms where clean and taken care of each day. I did find language a bit of a barrier not all staff were easy to converse with. This resort is under construction and at times it was a bit of a pain. When leaving we dragged our luggage up to front only to be told we had to go to anoth [... read more]er area for checkout and getting on our bus for airport. Better signage and communication for changes would be a nice touch. I would recommend this resort. Had a wonderful relaxing vacation.

Not what we usually get in Punta Cana

The grounds where very nice, staff very friendly. Rooms need some tender care and upgrading. The food was good, never went hungry. Enjoyed the Brazilian restaurant the best. The activities staff work very hard to recruit people to play the games. Lots of shade if you need it on the beach, not so much around the pools. Don’t know if it was the time of year or not but there was lots of sea weed and didn’t swim in the ocean. 20 min down the beach the water was beautiful. Stayed dec 8 to 15 th.

Great Vacation!

We just came after our 2 weeks vacation at Be Live Collection Punta Cana and we can say that we were really impressed by the work of its entertainment team especially taking into consideration that we have long experience (more than 15 years with vacations every year and most of them were in the Dominican Republic). Very nice facilities, restaurants, buffet, gym (free of charge), and many other things. What I didn't like: the water on the beach was not clear at all and often full of sand (the sand there is very very fine).

Very disappointed

Beautiful beach and grounds. Nice room. Good food. Pool was ok but could have used some entertainment. That's the good part. Now for the not so good. The staff were not helpful or pleasant. Most of the staff were miserable. No smiles from anyone. There was also a language barrier. Unless you spoke Spanish or French, communication was very difficult. If you want a drink in the evening the only place to go was the lobby bar. There was only one small bar which definitely could not service the numb [... read more]er of people that were there. This is a large resort with over 800 rooms.. Would definitely not recommend this hotel to a friend or family member. Was very disappointed with this resort.

Amazing staff, nice resort!

Had a great stay at Be Live this past week. Food was excellent, staff were amazing, grounds were fairly clean, and room was OK. The room was very outdated (not like the photos online) and had a musty smell. The grounds on the resort were very nice. The main pool was a little dirty.. lots of sand in the pool. The staff made the trip the best it could be. Champagne and Eddy Murphy were absolutely amazing!! Very nice resort for young people, lots of activites to do.. maybe not the best for relaxing [... read more]. Overall nice and i would go back.

Birthday Vacation to Be Live

Just returned on Sunday from a week at Be Live Collection. It was my third time to this resort, and the staff at the hotel was amazing. I contacted the hotel early to reserve a restaurant on the day of our arrival for my birthday dinner. Usually everything is booked and you can only book two days in advance. We also had reservations for the Japanese habachi show, Mexican and Brazilian.. The steakhouse and Brazilian were the best. The beach isn't great at Be Live, so we also booked an excursion with Pedro who you can find in the lobby for Saona Island. He arranged a private shuttle for us, so we didn't have to pick up other tourist at other hotels and our driver ensured we were taken care of. I can't forget to mention my friends and best swim up bartender Sergio! He makes the best drinks and so friendly to talk to, as well as David at the theatre bar at night. Yafriesy is amazing and would bring us drinks by the pool. And the entertainment staff, who make this the best resort and why I continue to return... Champagne, Eddie Murphy, Macarena, Candy. I was so sad that they let Spaghetti go, he was the best and a great loss to Be Live.

Great value in September

Good food. Staff helpful. Animation is friendly .variety of activities. Good value in September. Rooms good. Daily stocked Minibar is good. Beer pop. Water bottles supplied daily. Close to puerto plata

Great pools and great food

We really loved the various pools and were able to eat vegan no problem at the buffet (lots of variety of veggies, rice, beans, potatoes, pasta with vegetables). However, we went in mid-July and were surprised to learn that during the summer the beach is covered in a gross brown algae that is in the water and piled up on the beach. They say that it is like this between May to October. It was fine for us as we didn't care too much about the beach, but it meant we actually never swam in the ocean  [... read more]at our resort, nor did we lay on the beach at all. The other drawback was that when we first arrived, it took us over 40 minutes in line to check-in. The rest of the week the service was a bit better and we didn't see any comparable lines at reception, but we were a bit taken aback that no one even apologized to us for the wait or asked if we needed anything while we waited.

Second visit and better than the first time!

This time around I booked through Sunwing and had an excellent vacation. This was also my first time travelling solo on vacation. Upon arrival I went through customs and security very quickly after getting my luggage, a sunwing rep walked me to my shuttle. As I was the only one on my flight staying at BE LIVE, I had a private shuttle so I arrived to the resort quickly at 11am. I was going to be upgraded to a newly renovated room in block 14, but was accommodated and put in block 4 (4316) with a pool view. I admit it was a bit noisy at times being by snack bar/burger joint at night, but preferred the location. Also check in is at 3pm, but they rushed my request and I was in my room by 130pm. Very great fun to the check-in team. I only made two restaurant reservations (Japanese with the cooking show, and steak house). I really enjoyed both, as well as found the main buffet, and burger joint great options. No stomach issues all week. I really would like to thank the entertainment team who made my first solo vacation an entertaining one. Spaghetti, Chocolate, Champagne, Coca-Cola, tutti-fruity, Puccha, Macarena. I always enjoyed the aqua Zumba on the beach in the mornings, participating in the beer chugging, water Olympics in the pool.. go team Coca-Cola (white), fun at the beach party, foam party, dancing in the plaza after dinner, watching the shows in the theatre, even winning at bingo in the casino, and of course dancing in the Kviar disco! The activities on the resort are endless!! ❤️❤️❤️ And can’t forget the bartenders.. Sergio, David, Richard.. and sorry I can’t remember her name but a drink server by the plaza.. never sitting without a drink. Also note, there is quite a bit of construction going on right now, but I didn't find it bothered me. Also just want to mention if travelling in June, I met a lot of people from Spain, Germany and the USA, but not many Canadians.. still an adventure I’ll never forget!

Incredible!

Hotel room that we got was pretty amazing. We had problems with the toilet and it took awhile for it to get fixed. Our maid kept our room nice and clean, as well as she got our fridge full! I would come back to this hotel in the future.

GREAT Vacation at the Be live Collection

My wife and I stayed here between March 31 and April 7, 2018. As soon as we arrived we went straight to an employee and asked where the VIP Check-In was. Within 5 minutes we were being lead to the office with a seamless check-In. We were very happy that we upgraded to the VIP Adult section. It doesn't give you more A la Cartes, but the extra restaurants and bars made it worth while. Our butler's name was Felix and he did an awesome job!!! Very friendly, helpful, and his service was excellent!! [... read more]! I will do a quick breakdown of everything that I look for when reading reviews. Room - we were in the 5 block which is in the VIP Family section, although we hardly saw or heard any children. Location was close to everything. We had a balcony and the bathroom was modern. Bed was comfortable. No complaints. Restaurants - VIP breakfast and lunch buffet was great. It is the Mexican restaurant at night, but in the day it is called the Aqua which is just for VIP. Steak Restaurant - had the Caesar salad, chicken wings, Rib-Eye (cooked specifically to my liking MEDIUM-RARE), and the roasted potatoes, along with the brownie for dessert. Everything was excellent!! Brazilian - If you are a meat lover, this place will suit you fine! Many different cuts of meat that is so tender and delicious!! Japanese - Tempenyaki style. A lot of fun and the food is delicious. Burger Joint - Everything was delicious, especially the chicken wings and mozza sticks! Beach - the beach was absolutely beautiful. They work very hard to rake up all the seaweed and was NEVER an issue. The water was a little mirky at the beginning of the week, but by day 4 it was very clear. Pool(s) - The activity pool, which is the only one with a swim-up bar, was always mirky and seemed to have a film on the top of it. It is also the only pool for people that don't have VIP, including kids. Didn't spend too much time there as the VIP Pools were much cleaner. Staff - These are the staff members that stand out most to us because of their great service, Orlando - I believe he was the VIP manager. He was great when we were checking in and helped us get settled in. Jose-Luis was our 1st butler. He helped by escorting us to our room and always speaking to us later in the week, even when he was replaced by someone else, FELIX! Like I had mentioned before Felix did an amazing job! He couldn't do enough for us!! Always there asking if we needed anything. It was our wedding anniversary and Felix, along with Jose-Luis, decorated our room with rose pedals, candles, and champagne! It was incredible. They definitely went above and beyond to make our stay a great one. Pedro, Irvin, Marlania, and Christian at the VIP Beach bar, were always friendly and provided great service! The animation team were also very friendly and would always ask how your day was. All in all, the service was superb. There are a lot of comments about the guys in the Beige shirts. yes they will ask you to meet to discuss time shares. My suggestion, and it worked for us, talk to one of them. Get his name. Remember it. And next time someone else asks you to meet, just say that you already spoke to ....! It can be annoying, but this is their job. They are usually friendly so just be respectful and they will do the same. Same goes with the people that are selling stuff on the beach. Just so no thank you and they will leave you alone. The landscaping and maintenance was very nice and clean!! All in all, we had a great trip and were pleased with everything! We would go back to this resort. If you can afford it the upgrade to VIP was worth it.

Good resort, very pretty

We have traveled south for many years and this was one of the better resports. We did not have VIP ststus, I dont need anyone to wait on me. However when we got there we were not happy with our room and asked to me changed mainly because all of our family were in the 16 block, the manger a very nice man, said come back tomorrow at three and we will move you. True to his word we were changed and in our room by 1630. Not too bad we were in the up graded area with pool view. The restruants , the [... read more] Brazian , the japneese terrix Grill and the Steak house were alll very good. Two our of 13 did get sick for a few days but you take your chances when you go. The beach party was a lot of fun so was the entertainment. I would go back to this resort but never late April, way to hot, lol but we did have sun and fun alll week thanks to Air Canada and Heather at Trip Central all were great.

Not ALL That!

Aside from the food EVERYTHING else was a Poor excuse... Arrived mid-morning to Be Live ushered into a meeting room to find out our rooms would be available at 3pm (at which point our room was not ready) and to be briefed on their "issues" locals constantly asking to sign up for excusions etc etc never mind the locals/vendors asking you to take photo, hair braids, beads etc. 96% of the staff spoke little to no english. 95% of the serving staff we visited at the RSVP dining restaurants did no [... read more]t accommidated us with a friendly greeting or offered us drinks. We would wait and wait for them to approach us even upto 15mins (= Mediterrain Restaurant) Not at any of these restaurants did we get an explaination on how the menu worked = options to choose from.. 2 from here 1 from this sections.. noone said "help your self A-la-cart is right there for you while you wait" etc etc 3 maids walked in.. on 3 seperate occasions. Keep that "do not disturb" sign on the door was quickly used and ignored... even when u tell them your in the bathroom they will still walk in and do what they have to do and then quickly leave. Our room (ceiling) dripped water constantly. Our bath tub had brown spots left over from their construction. We had 8-6 hours without any running water on day 2 of our stay. Try showering and getting to dinner on time. We had 2 hours without running water on day 3. Again, when we needed to be showering. No clean/ mopped floors for the whole week, 2 of the 7 days no made beds, 2 of the 7 days no clean towels (not the same days..of course). I looked at those coffee stains day in and day out and asked myself why was I evening tipping? Music blarring from adjacent rooms at 2-4 am - No courtesy We found our safe opened (thankfully nothing taken) but opened non-the less due to an issue which they couldn't fix - but i eventually did. Front Desk would only say "sorry for the inconvenience" never sent clean towels, anyone etc etc. never rectified the issues or offered us another room.

Great Vacation

We just came back from a weeks holiday at Be Live Collection. Overall we had a great trip and will definitely return. Check in at resort could use some tweeking as its a little hard with communication barrier and unorganized (this was our experience) with room and VIP services we were suppose to have. There are 16 blocks with the higher blocks being furthest away and is a bit of a distance away from main lobby and buffet so careful on where you book. The VIP areas are very nice and highly recommended for eating at a seperate buffet and having private areas on the beach. We stayed in Block 16 the newer block and our room was very nice but little loud sometimes at night as its near the roads and local vendor stores and outdoor pub. But we had a fairly private pool with a bar pool side and was great away from the main pool if needed so pros and cons in this area. The resturants were really good, buffets had good variety and the burger house had decent variety to choose from. Staff at the Aqua buffet by far the friendliest, very professional at the el cartes and found little overwelmed staff and some not so friendly at main buffet but it holds alot of people so Im sure alot on them keeping up. Overall we had a great trip and will return for sure but hope to get somewhere near middle of resort.

Very happy with my choice

We stayed for 10 days and wouldn’t do any less and did the sparkling adults only with swim up pool. In building 7103 I think was the best room and us personally once they worked out a few kinks it was a wonderful stay. The food was really good and a big variety. The beach was very nice As u walk down the beach in front of other resorts some areas were not as nice The staff were pleasant. Our only complaint was the hounding of condo and hotel sales people. They are always wanting to shake your  [... read more]hand and get into your personal space. And when you are polite and say no thank you I’m not interested they should back off . Then you walk a Little further and there is another. It was too much. Also the jewelry people the same grabbing ur arm pulling you over. I don’t go on vacation to be harassed. If people are interested they will stop. It’s a big turn off to be constantly bugged. Over all if I could have same room I would go back.

Beautiful but disorganized

Very nice resort, good food and great service however housekeeping and registration needs tweaking...it took us 3 hours at the reception desk to finally get our room! Otherwise, the food, service and location were wonderful!

BeLive beautiful vacation

We had a wonderful family vacation loved the perfect size of the resort everything was a short walk to get to!! The beach was awesome lots of loungers, but had to get up early to get a palapa 😎 the food was excellent the buffet had lots of variety and the beach restaurant had great lunch choices in small portions(soft ice cream in sugar cones was amazing) Brazilian and Japanese were the only a la cartes we done but they were both fantastic!! Rooms were nice we had a jr suite so our room was o [... read more]n one of the pools which was a real treat! The only complaint I have is the front desk staff were not very friendly or easy to deal with but dealing with them was only a short amount of our stay. The shows were good but they didn’t start till 945 so was a bit late for kids and early risers but they were good shows. Overall a great resort!!

Definitely not a 5 star

The resort is on a beautiful location, close to the water and the weather is amazing. The resort was older, run down in locations, the food was not very good, was not a fun resort for adults and the main pool was full of families and not adult friendly in any way

Was good!

This wasn’t a bad vacation at all!! We enjoyed the food. Great variation at the buffet. If you are doing Japanese and expecting the knife show, it may be disappointing as they don’t ask you if this is something you would like to do and there is only two tables allowing this. Rooms were good but we were on the first floor and found it very damp in our room. We were in a good area. There was spring break kids near by but the resort was such that we could be around them if we wanted. One thing [... read more] I was very annoyed with was the constant badgering from the guys in the brown shirts to get us to go to speak to someone about time share. They said not a time share but it really is. Just a different way to look at it. We did finally go but read up on it and it’s now worth it. The resort should not allow them to be all over the resort as it is very upsetting having to deal with this from the beginning to the end of our trip. Other than that we were happy with our time spent there.

Great Resort

The hotel was amazing!!! The staff was very nice especially our Maid Maria for room 9305. The rooms were clean and tidy and she made sure we had everything we needed. the restaurants were great especially the Lobster House. Although the Lobster was not included in the all inclusive it was well worth it that we ended up going there again for a second night. You get bread and butter, appetizer, soup, salad, the lobster with mashed potatoes and vegetables and dessert all for $20 US. The Windows restaurant (Buffet) was awesome!!! a lot of variety to choose from and their omelets for breakfast was to die for. Everything was delicious!!! We would definitely go again if the opportunity arises and I would definitely recommend this resort to family and friends. The only down part of the resort was the staff who pushed and tried to force you into buying time shares. BE CAREFUL!!!! its a scam and not worth your time. They will bug and bug til you give in so please don't give in to these pesky people!!!! Other than that, everything was AMAZING!!!!!
