Absolutely wonderful and fantastic vacation

Everything about this resort is A1. I have returned now 3 times and looking forward to going again. The staff is all very kind and helpful. The grounds are very well kept and clean. Service is prompt. The beach is well kept and very beautiful. The food is the best in Cuba and no waiting in lines. I recommend this resort 110 percent.

Great hotel

It’s was a great place to stay the service is excellent and rooms are very clean and comfortable staff are kind and respectful We enjoy our vacation we had a lobster service it was excellent the buffet is ok but not much choice .. always the same thing and in Cuba no bread for beakfeast just buns the beach is awsome lots of palapas Water there are some corails but great for snorkeling

Wonderful stay!

A fairly bigger hotel than I am used to staying but easy enough to get around. There is a variety of choices in the restaurants and the food is much better than I had expected. This was my first trip to Cuba and went in dreading the restaurants based on reviews and friends that have been to Cuba. It’s not the same as home but you will not starve. It is safe and you will feel secure to walk out of the hotel and visit the area. There is a bus that goes to Guardalavaca that stops right in front of the hotel. Staff is pleasant and very helpful. Bank on site to change money. Internet was ok. I did manage a signal in my room. You have to purchase one hour cards that you log in with. Be sure to turn wifi off when not in use as your time will run out. Bring reusable mug for the bar to save on cups and keep your drinks chilled. Mojitos were perfect!

The Rooms where Clean. Beds comfy.. Food was Good but Same Food Every day in Buffet..NO BREAD ALL WEEK..Near End of my 7 Day Trip - the Milk had Ran out.. Ala-carts ... Food was Good but 1 hour to get pizza ..not good.. Ala Carts Service staff they need to be More Organized.. For this Resort ,the Beach was full ..Need Bathroom near by..bring T.p. Most Wonderful Staff

We enjoyed our stay at this resort. The staff were the nicest, most accommodating I have ever seen. The pool and beach were nice but the food was not the best. This resort is very spread out so make sure to be up for lot's of walking.

Loving the subtle changes.

We visited Fiesta Americana Playa Verde in Holguin January 17 to 23. This is our third visit to this hotel and first as Fiesta. We enjoyed our week very much. The overall look of the resort has not changed too much, which we appreciate. Although you can see the maintenance of the buildings and grounds has improved. Just a note - you will have to eat at the outside tables if you have a wet bathing suit, no coverup or shoes. Now that there is no Plus section you can visit the 2 restaurants near the Cigar bar. The food and service (as through the entire hotel) here was very good, but the noise was close to unbearable. I think the addition of fabric drapery and décor, table clothes and plants would greatly improve the situation. The beach and water was lovely. Some rocks and shells, but the water was very clear and you could avoid them. We met many of the staff that were there in 2014 and 2016. There were quite a few new employees being trained. We found everyone to be friendly and helpful. Overall a great trip and we would recommend.

Everything you would want

Great resort for families, had lots of activities to keep the whole family busy. All amenities are within a 5 min walk of everything. Buffet food was good for all meals and the seafood lunch restaurant was excellent. Staff was very accommodation. Currency exchange was very convenient as it was at front desk. Great Resort

I stayed in the deluxe area and the rooms were large, clean and quiet. Food was great, you were always able to find something to suit your taste buds. The nice part was you did not have to stand in a line in the morning to book your a la carte, you just go to the restaurants when wanted. The staff were all very friendly.

Beautiful resort- excellent staff and service; good entertainment,

The grounds were immaculate with beautiful landscapes. Rooms were cleaned daily and fridge in room was replenished daily with water and drinks. Overall comfortable stay. Exceeded expectations. There was nine restaurants so the many varied menus including the buffet offered a great variety of food. Some of my favourites was the fresh fish and ice cream. The entertainment was plenty and there was something for everyone.

Fantastic Vacation!

This resort was awesome. The deluxe room was perfect for my boyfriend and I. The food was the best I've had in Cuba. The beach was beautiful. The staff were wonderful. I would definitely come back to this resort.

The grounds of the hotel were nice and well kept.

We were disappointed when we arrived, we were told it was a 4.5 star and I would say it was a 3.0, The rooms need to be updated and our room was above the kitchen area, so we kept smelling the odours of the food and that was on the third floor. The curtains were falling off the rods, so we couldn't close, we reported it and it was never fixed. The TV wasn't working, they fixed it but left all the loose wiring on the table and the floor. It was my 60th birthday on New Years day, and all they did  [... read more]was change the table cloth to make it look different from the other tables. And to top it off, the last night I was visited by a huge cock roach in my bathroom. (what a disappointment) Food was okay from the buffet, La carte needs to improve. If I ever go back, it will be to the newer section. New Years eve celebration was okay, but too long to entertained.

Great Resort

If you are looking for a clean, safe family friendly resort and an affordable vacation this is the place to be! We enjoyed the last 2 weeks here and my kids and hubby and I loved it! Between the snorkeling at the beach, the animator Cesare(he was the best) the outdoor game room by the theater it kept my 2 children busy! They only had toast one day out of 14 days. So you might want to bring your own McMuffin bread. Although they had their bread they served. The creps were made in front of you and we're awesome! Italian restaurant had great pizza! The seafood restaurant too is a great place for lunch. They also had a taco bar by the main pool. And a 24 hour snack bar by the main pool. They have a Cuban and Mexican restaurant too. Althoughe when resort gets full the service can be very slow at the restaurants, this would be the only complaint. It seems like they can't handle lots at one time.The beach is absolutely beautiful and very safe for children, you can go snorkeling near by. You can bring bread and the fish swim towards you. Make sure to stay off the beach after sunset cause you will get bitten by tiny fies that are not mosquitoes, bug spray won't help. They are there cause of the surrounding trees by the beach. The night shows the first week I found okay the second week was a lot better. Overall it was a great experience and would return!

Quiet but definitely worth the money!

The hotel was very nice and staff was great. Rooms were a little dated but very clean. Pools were very well cared for and all bars were welcoming and clean. There was a lot of construction and updating going on so not all restaurants were open. There was an issue with beer contracts so no beer in stocked fridge about 80% of time. Once these issues are rectified the hotel will be perfect. We worked around these few issues and our stay was great! I would definitely return and plan to!

Good trip

Resort was older however we had a great time. All beds are brand new and the most comfortable I’ve had anywhere in Cuba! However my superior room was the worst I’ve ever had. Very small, curtains that weren’t fully hanging, sliding door you needed 2 people to open, cock roach in my bathroom, rusty tub, ceiling tiles falling down. They wanted additional 5 cuc per person per night to move to a totally renovated “deluxe” room. The beach is amazing as always which is why we’ve been to holguin 4x. Snorkelling is top notch, feed the fish a banana and you will be amazed! I did not find the staff as friendly as playa costa verde. I would think about going back but only once the hotel has been fully renovated as the superior rooms are really in poor condition.

Good resort

I purchased an all inclusive flight from toronto to Holguin Cuba. When i was checking in for the flight at pearson airport they stopped me and told me that i am not all inclusive, and that i must pay an extra fee for my luggage or i would not be able to board the plane. I showed them the copy of my all inclusive vacation & flight, and refused to pay because i knew i purchased an all inclusive package, but they continually denied it, and started called and emailed numerous people, this took over  [... read more]1 hour of my time, but afterwards they told me they made a mistake and let me board and proceeded to tell me that they fixed the error and that i would not have a problem when boarding my returning flight. I was upset. 1 week later I went to Board my return flight from Holguin to toronto, we had the same issue concerning my luggage, and they once again refused to let me board with my luggage unless i paid an additional Fee. Once again I showed them the copy of my all inclusive vacation & flight, But they Directed me to numerous buildings and officials to talk to, when i returned to the boarding station the person at the front had called the police and immigration officers, they were all waiting for me and told me i had to take a different flight and was not allowed to board this one under any circumstances. so again they forced me to go to immigration office where i was questioned, demoralized, and they opened my luggage damaging some of the contents inside. until finally they once again admitted to their mistake and let me board the plane. This made me upset and angry and that should not have happened.

One great vacation

A real great vacation to Fiesta Americanas Costa Verde and just returned Yesterday Nov. 27th. This new company is spending a lot of new money on this resort and it shows all over as soon as you get off the bus. The usual friendly staff are the most accommodating crew we have ever seen there. We were met at every venue by upper management which has never happened before. The biggest changes made was the thought process brought on by Mexican management. Keep in mind when booking Supreme rooms are in the old section where rooms are being updated weekly and the Deluxe rooms are in the former Plus section which is under 5 years old. ALL mattresses are new in both sections.The food in buffet is very acceptable considering you are in Cuba and the a la cartes especially the former v.i.p. on Mexican night is as good as anywhere you can eat in Cuba.Some down sides are the sandfleas on the beach and the lack of hamburger and hotdog buns at the snackbar. If you go do lunch at the Mary Sol and have shrimp tacos as they are most delicious.There is a resident chef, manager from Mexico and a food service manager from the D.R. and you can not forget Norhey from Holguin area, they are great.

Excellent resort

I've been to Cuba many times. I normally stay at a smaller resort called DonLino. This is my second time at this resort. I enjoyed it the first time, but now somethings like the beds are much better under the new name.

Excellent service

I loved the beauty of this resort. Friendly staff. Most of whom speak English. Very good maid service. Even though construction was happening we really didn’t notice. Will return again next year. Stay in blocks 16-18 they are close to everything. Bartenders make the most awesome Spanish coffees
