Amazing resort@

Wonderful resort. This resort is great value with great a great beach and lots to see and do. Buffet is good with many choices. There is some construction going on but did not impact our stay. Staff are friendly and eager to help. Rooms are a bit dated but clean and functional. You also have access to the other resorts in the complex.

Grand Bahia Akumal

The resort is huge. I wish that the beach was bigger especially for Akumal area. There is a construction, so be prepared to hear it by the pool and beach. Buffet food is the same e every day. Gourmet restaurants are just so so. Good entertainment. Snorkelling is not the best.

Amazing resort and amenities!

Excellent concierges! Semeh , Victor aNd Angelo were wonderful and friendly, they checked on us everyday and gave us many options and activities! The weather was perfect everyday. Checking in and checking out was smooth and the Airtransat staff was very informative and always available!

Wonderful time!

The grounds are beautifully kept. The staff work so hard to keep everything clean. You never see any garbage laying around. Since this is my third time at this resort I can really notice a lot of cutbacks. Our room was fine except for trying to regulate the air conditioner. I can’t believe that the bar at the infinity pool kept running out of rum.

Amazing Vacation!

From the moment we stepped on and off the plane we were impressed with the service from AirTransat! Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful with any questions we had. When we arrived at the hotel we were greeted by the bellman to help with our luggage, very prompt and friendly! Check-in was easy and fast. Lobby appeared to be clean and not too busy. Our room upon arrival was clean and tidy. Perhaps a little on the older side and did smell a little bit musty. We left the f [... read more]ront door and patio door open for a bit every day to air out the room. We frequented the buffet quite a few times on this trip. We always found something yummy to eat! We did eat at 2 a la carte restaurants, Arlequin and Mediterranio. The latter was a large group dinner for 19 people, they were extremely accommodating with giving us a set menu as well as catering to some allergies in the group. Overall we really enjoyed our stay at the Luxury Bahia Principe Akumal. The activities/entertainment crew were absolutely amazing! A special shout out to Semeh (Sam?!) and Victor (#2) who were so fun and inclusive with everyone! The musical entertainment was out of this world. We look forward to visiting the resort again in the future!

An anniversary get away

The resort was clean, quiet and the staff on the whole looked after us very well. The beaches were great, some had entertainment happening near by and some were quiet and relaxing which is what we were looking for. The food was fine, al la carte restaurants were good and the buffet was okay. The shows at night time were good and enjoyable. We are considering returning in the future.

Wont be returning

Having been to this resort numerous times in the past years was very disappointed this time. Put in a room with no air conditioner working at all from the get go, and patio door not locking. Reported it the next day to our Transat rep at the info meeting and reported it to hotel. Day 2 reported it again to both parties. Day 3 days nothing fixed after being told it was and to return to our room to find nothing had been done. Back to front desk hours wasted hanging around for customer service to [... read more] deal with this after waiting 2 hours in the lobby in the evening eventually she came after we told the hotel no one had been to see us she said she had just been told. Lack of communication !!!! After she went to our room that night herself 11:30pm she told us to sleep in another room and issue would be resolved next day. Long story short it never was fixed and day 4 we got moved to another room sub standed to our ocean view room. After packing up stuff and moving rooms waiting for bell boys holiday started on day 5 thank god we had gone for 11 days. for A/C to break AFTER we have been in the room is one thing these things happen. BUT to actually put us in room with no air conditioning working from day one is not acceptable. And the hotel was not even full!

Wonderful resort, very well organized

Hotels environment is amazing, buffet and restaurants serving any food you'd like to eat. Lobby and area around, so close to each other eg. swimming pools, bar and of course big, wide beach! I have to mention that people working in the Reception so kind and helpful. We had a request to change the room if it was possible. Of course we got it! In exchange for a dark room on1st floor with no sun and sprinklers flooding the balcony we got a sunny room on 2nd floor and no chance of flooding the balc [... read more]ony. Luxury Bahia Principe Akumal-Mayan Riviera

We just spent a week at this resort and we cannot wait to return. First of all, the grounds are amazing, everything is impeccably tidy and beautiful. The entire resort is spotless, never once did I use the public washroom or eat in any of the restaurants and feel that it was dirty. The staff are friendly and go above and beyond to make your stay amazing. Small details like remembering our names and faces, and remembering favorite drinks were just some of the highlights. The pools are clean and b [... read more]eautiful. The activity staff are fun and do their absolute best to engage all ages in fun around the pool and on the beach. The food at the buffet was delicious and their is something for everyone, no matter how picky of an eater one could be. The a la carte restaurants serve top notch food with beautiful presentation. Our group was 11 people ranging from age 5 to 50 and there was something here for everyone. The Mexican people are very hard working and eager to please. This is my 8th all inclusive and 7th time to Mexico and by far it is THE BEST resort we have ever gone to. We cannot wait to return. Thank you Bahia!!!

Beautiful Resort - Customer Service needs improvement.

The facility and grounds are very nice and well kept. The pool area is clean and neat. The food selection is great. Customer service is poor and needs much improvement. The room was kept ‘tidy’ at best with little attention.

Great Resort

Great service from most staff members, rooms are decent, nothing too fancy. Good reservation restaurants and enough space on beach and pool. Could have more night light events until late past 11pm. Great time overall.

Fantastic resort

The resort was amazing It was so clean, the food and the staff were amazing. One of the best resorts we have been to in year, I would highly recommend this resort. Check was quick and easy, the restaurants were great. Had a massage done at the spa, it was just perfect, thru really treated us great

Awesome time had by all!

The hotel grounds were very nice and well maintained. Pools were clean with lots of activities to do. Only drawback at pools was the lack of shade, nearly impossible to get an umbrella or cabana. Food at buffet was really good and lots of variety. Only fault it’s their coffee, not very good at all, had to order cappuccinos every morning, would of been nice to have a decent cup of coffee! Beach was super nice, yes there’s a seaweed issue but they work non stop trying to keep it as clean as they can. It’s not an issue to find loungers with shade at the beach. Rooms were a bit dated but we didn’t care. A/C and fan were more than adequate. Staff were super friendly and helpful throughout the resort. The carts that drive you around were always available and hardly had to wait for one. We flew with Air Transat and the transfer between the airport and the hotel was a bit disappointing. Once we landed there was no indication of where to go. Finally found an Air Transat rep and it was a very long process to get a transportation. Waited probably about an hour and we were switched vans twice. The other concern was again with Air Transat. At the orientation they mentioned a free tour to Playa Del Carmen. What they ‘forgot’ to mentioned was that it included to stops at high pressure sale jewelry store and tequileria with mandatory timed stays. Great trip, would definitely recommend the hotel!

Wonderful Beach vacation

We arrived at 12pm, which was a bit of a rough start due to the 3 hour wait to get our room. Upon getting our room, our fridge had not been replenished and old food from previous guest was left inside, but that was the worst of our vacay. The beach was wonderful, we spent everyday there. The food was plentiful, and even our vegetarian family member was very satisfied with the daily options. We would come back here, but would hope to be in a more central room closer the the lobby/beach and pool areas.

Outstanding Resort

Everything was just great, the food, the services, the room with view, the cleanness, the transportation and all resort lobby. But also the fact we had access to all sub-resort sections it was great as well. Also a special thanks to our waiters at the main Akumal buffet, Luis, Neyfi and Fabian! There were just great and provided an A1 services!

Beautiful Resort

The grounds and public areas were spotless and beautiful. Always someone working on the grounds. Unfortunately, the beach was not very nice due to the seaweed problem, which they worked on daily but there is just too much of it. The pools were great and clean. The only problem is not with the hotel but with selfish vacationers who think that they own the lounge chairs and spots for their whole vacation time. They arrive around 5:30 am and reserve their seats for the day and most of them [... read more] do not arrive till after 11:00 am! I believe the hotel should try and control this by not allowing people to put their towels out and disappear for hours on end. I was told that if I saw this happening all I have to do is go to the Reception and have someone remove the towels. That is ridiculous, there is no way I am running to the reception every day! They should have someone monitoring the pool areas and removing the towels. Instead of paying a Butler, that people don't really need, they should simply pay someone to take care of the reserving of seats! Food was great, restaurants were good, but they should have more choices at the restaurants. People working at the restaurants/bars, work very hard and do a great job of ensuring you have all that you need. Cleaning staff do a wonderful job and all in all no complaints, had a wonderful time at this resort!

Great resort for family vacation

We travelled with 2 kids (3 and infant). The room was clean and the food was top notch (especially the a la carte restaurants!) We tried the buffet and one restaurant in Coba, and those were not comparable. The only minor issue we had was with the wifi, it was difficult to connect and sometimes it doesn't work properly (so that doesn't work well to reserve the restaurants through their app). The pools and the kids waterpark at Coba (5 mins on the trolley) are great. Excellent!!!

1) I recommend one more Billiard in TULUM (except of the Sports Bar) in COBA. 2) Billiard in the Sports Bar in COBA was not in good condition and one ball was missing 3) I recommend normal size Chess Board with figures in the Sports Bar or somewhere else

Not a 5 star!

Beautiful grounds, excellent food, but the rooms were very run down. Beach is not the best as the entire Mexico coast is dealing with a seaweed issue but they worked hard to have it cleaned up quickly. We did not find the service to be exceptional - it was a hit or miss. One night our server in the restaurant was very rude and sometimes people did not even say hello. Beautiful Resort

The buffet near the infinity pool was very good, excellent service. Rooms in this section nice,clean. Staff were all very friendly, provided excellent service. A la carte restaurants all good - the Italian restaurant the best! Liked going to the different sections of the Bahia resort, but not enough time to explore everything. The kids (young adults) enjoyed the disco at La Hacienda. The entertainment was good. We enjoyed the shows in our own section and didn't need to go far to see the show. [... read more] Beach in the luxury section small, rocky and lots of seaweed, which they worked hard to remove every day.
