Amazing place... Great staff

Resort was in great shape,,, Loved the Mexican food... Staff were really good... Special thanks to Ceasar... Beach was nice and private area for Privilege guests was a bonus. Highly recommend this resort..

AMAZING RESORT!!

Hi thought that it was a beautiful place to go I would definitely go again also the staff was an amazing services food was great as well!! The hotel was always clean and a real comfortable place to stay.

Paradise resort

This was by far the best place I’ve ever stayed at. It was so much fun. The people were amazing, funny, nice and helpful and the vibes were out of this world. I felt so safe and happy. Couldn’t have asked for a better stay.

Nice resort

At first, it's very important to be accommodated in the renovated section of the resort. We only got transferred after complaining about the room in the old part of the resort. Pools are big and amazing. Entertainment team AMAZING. shout out to Nutella and Chocolate. Open buffet had great choices. Rooms cleaned twice a day. I enjoyed my coffee at the lobby every day. Lovely resort and staff

if u stay in building 5, excellent rooms! Building 8, had very old and unclean rooms! A lot of activities, nice beach, beautiful pools and good food. The staff was extra friendly and very accommodating. Room service was a disaster and not at all available.

Great resort

We arrived late due to 2!flight delays. The 6 days at the resort were outstanding. No reservations at the a la carte restaurants is a great idea. Food and service were great. Pool service was great. I certainly would go back and recommend to others. (Just find a reliable flight)

Loaded with fun!!!

The hotel / resort was amazing! Everyone was very nice to us and accommodating. There were activities all day long and the night life was just amazing. I've been to many resorts, and this is the first resort with so much going on. We just loved it.

Nice resort

We found the Ocean Blue and Sand a nice resort. The good was very good at all the restaurants we went to. The property was really pretty and the pools and beach were fantastic. We have 3 kids ages 4 and under and they absolutely loved the kiddy pool. They played there almost every day all afternoon. We found the service to be a little rude and unorganized. The staff was very short with you and didnt seem very willing to want to help. We had a few things wrong with our room. Our baby crawled on  [... read more]the floor and when we picked him up his knees, hands and feet were completely dirty. Our safe was broken and our bathtub was dirty. We had to call for an iron and ironing board and they took so long we were late for a dinner reservation. They said they would bring a cake to our room for 9pm on our daughter's bday and they didn't. We had to call them 2 times and they brought it the next day. She was a little upset. So overall we had a nice trip but they really need to work on their service.

Friendly resort

Good service and fantastic entertainment Joseph and chocolate kept us entertained and were very talented and hard working! Beach was not nice at all and hotel needs updating Wilken who stocked our room daily was fantastic Also very hard worker Maids did not go out of their wsy to do anything special in our room

OCEAN BLUE AND SANDS RESORT, BAVARO, PUNTA CANA, DR

Hello, We were a group of six women who visited Ocean Blue and Sands for one week (some were there 10 days) April 15 to April 25 and a couple from April 18 to April 25. This was my 3rd time in Punta Cana, and this is the first time I have been disappointed with the beach at the Ocean Blue and Sands. There was seaweed galore that you had a hard time to walk, and the sandbags in the water looked like backs of huge whales. Very disappointing especially for the Bavaro Beach. Ocean Blue and Sa [... read more]nd should definitely do something about their portion of the beach because when you go down south for beautiful weather, and beautiful weather it was indeed, you enjoy to relax on a beautiful beach as I recall the Bavaro was and still is, but for some reason this part of the Bavaro Beach I was deeply shocked and sad because we could not enjoy the beach, it was overall dirty looking. We had to spend our time at the pools. As far as the resort and staff working there, it was very good. The grounds were well maintained, the staff very friendly, but this does not surprise me for Punta Cana. The people are always so nice in the Dominican Republic, will do anything for you. A big shout out to Wilkin, he took so good care of us for our week at Ocean Blue and Sand. What a wonderful young man. As well, the entertainment staff, was excellent. We enjoyed our day entertainment as well as the evening. Joseph and Chocolate are amazing entertainers and they made sure everyone was enjoying themselves. The food was just for me, o.k. Most times at the buffet it was not warm, and the only restaurant I preferred above them all was the Steak House. It was amazing food, however, not very good service. We left before they came to offer us dessert, IF they were going to offer us dessert, we were not sure. We had to ask for wine, because they only came once to pour us a half glass. Not sure perhaps if that evening they could have been extra busy, not sure - but not good service. Would I go back again to this resort? Probably not, only because the beach is not up to my liking, and if I am going to pay big money to go to a resort, I want to be able to enjoy the beach. Having said this about the food, some of my party enjoyed the food, so this could be just a matter of preference. I am not a fussy person, but I did not enjoy most of the meals. The best was the HOT SUN. Wish I was still there for the weather, because in the Northern part of New Brunswick Canada, we are freezing today, and the wind here is COLD.

Punta Cana 2019

This was our 6th year in a row at this resort. We arrived before 3 pm and were told our room was not ready, no issue. We checked again at 3 pm and were told the people in our room were staying 1 other day and we could move into it the next day. They gave us another room and rather then moving again we decided to stay in that room. They should have known that when we first checked in at about 1:30 pm. Housekeeping did not clean our room 2 days in a row and for some reason we asked them to le [... read more]ave 4 bottles of beer in the fridge and it took her 3 days to figure that out. Breakfast and dinner were great at the buffet, thanks to Frank our waiter. Lunch at beach restaurant was ok but they lacked waiters, slow to get water and beer. Bienvenuedo and Yohan were great bartenders at the pool and the waitresses, Noella, Raquel, and Eliana were extremely nice. Entertainment at the pool was great, especially the band on Apil 8th. Lobby bartenders were great, Edwin, Sexy Black, Martires, Francisco, Raphael, they are all very polite, pleasant and you can speak and joke with them. The waitresses were very pleasant, cannot recalled all their names. The entertainment at the lobby was fantastic, karaoke, singers, dancers. The tenors were fantastic April 7th. Beside the room and the American high school students and their chaperons who have no respect for all the others at the pool and lobby area, this resort is above average. I wish the hotel would acknowledge guests who have been there many time, you would think when they enter the name of a guest when they reserved, an icon would pop up and tell the hotel staff that this guest has been there before.

Well enjoyed resort

The hotel is great looking when you arrive to the openness to c through to the restaurants and the bar in the middle with seating every where around it what a great feeling .the staff in the restaurant are friendly but the main buffet avoid the women chief they are rude and slow .the buffet on the water is nice great view of the water the thing we notice the beach is getting small and they added more big sand bags to help the beach from not disappearing the rooms are clean and the maid service i [... read more]s good you ask for something they are gladly to help you out the landscape is well kept by the maintenance people.

Nice resort

Overall we were happy with the resort. The layout was nice other than the quiet pool should have been further from the party pool. Party pool was very loud in the afternoon! Our view from the third floor in building nine was great. I could see both pools and the waves at the beach. The room was nothing fancy but very clean and housekeeping was great and fridge was always well stocked. The food was really good. We enjoyed having the many restaurants with no reservations except the Japanese(which  [... read more]was delicious!!!). The not so good parts . I pick this resort because it said no spring break groups as we were going on a couples trip without our three teenagers. Well half of Michigan, Minnesota and Deleware were there on spring break and obviously part of large groups. I must say everyone was well behaved and very nice and polite, but it wasn't exactly the atmosphere we were going for. We also paid extra for the sapphire club with air transat. The direct transfer between the hotel and airport was great and worked as it should. We did not get a welcome drink or cool towel. We did not get our resort credits. I had to ask for them the next day when I realized they were not in the room and we got in late. I also had to ask for our slippers and robes and beach towels which were supposed to be in the room. We didn't receive these for another day. Three days into our trip I decided to use the nice jacuzzi tub after a long excursion only to find that there was no plug for the tub. I asked twice at the front desk for a plug but never did get one so I missed out on that feature. I would also suggest that the resort look into a dedicated room service menu. It was very hard to understand the person who answered the phone and twice tried to tell me what was avaliable that day. We just went with the cheeseburgers. The beach is in a very rough state. I was prepared for that by the reviews I read before going but it was really worst than I imagined it would be. Not a big deal for us but if the beach is important to you than this is not the resort for you. The vendors that are allowed onsite during certain days were very aggressive, not as much in other shopping areas, but I really did not appreciate being grabbed and pulled towards a table and not being able to even glance at on object without the vendor trying to bargain with me. I really would have bought more if I had been given time to browse. The drinks were good and the sun was shining so overall it was a good trip. I might stay again if I got a really great deal on the hotel.

Very nice

The staff and service was great and the resort was always clean and the food was good.The washrooms did not flush in the lobby or pool area very well and the Vendors were there 3 nights and were very demanding.But over all we had a great time and really liked this resort. Thank You.

Lovely Stay !

We were there 22-29th of March. As a prestige guest we had an easy and quick check-in in a separate area which was nice. We had a "butler" in prestige to help you out ... nice touch but if not it would have been good just the same. The prestige lounge is nice. Nice and cool with alcohol there available with ice and snacks. Also bathroom available in the lounge. We ate breakfast by the beach each day as a privilege guest and ordered from a menu. The beach restaurant was open to everyon [... read more]e at lunch and was good. We did buffet for dinner a few times and I have no complaints. We have travelled to Cuba quite a bit and the food her is a definite step up. The steak restaurant, italian and Japanese were also good. I had no problem with tummy issues anywhere. The gym is open 24 hours incase you want to keep up workout while away. One thing to know is Coffee is available in the foyer of the buffet on the entrance across from the gym/spa at 6am. We are early risers and were searching for coffee the first day. Mike's cafe should open earlier but it opens at 7:30. If you are a beach lover then you may be disappointed as the beach has some issues with eroding. They are doing their best to stop it. The beach to the left and right at the next hotels is fine and much deeper but because they are on a point for some reason they are having issues. Still lovely though but some may not be happy with that. Our room was great.. lots of pillows and comfy. Room was a bit cold and hard to regulate so maybe that could be looked after. I don't know if i would go back as there are just so many places to go in the carribean. We did like the fact that it was not too big. We prefer smaller resorts. Hope this helps.

Beatiful Resort But Priviledge Level was a disappointment

Beautiful resort. Great entertainment and a beautiful pool. Food was average. Paid extra for Privilege level. This was not worth the money. Butler service was non-existent. Could never find him. Special restaurant for breakfast was in a convenient location but the service was poor. Better service and food selection at the buffet. Privilege staff at the front lobby were great, but that didn't make up for short comings in other areas. Stay at this resort, but pass on Privilege and save some money.

Nice Vacation

We had a wonderful tune at the resort. It was a very nice atmosphere. The entertainment staff worked hard to make it fun for all. It was a relatively small property compared to some but large enough to have all the ameneties. I did not like getting up in the morning to reserve chairs by the pool, but I think that is relatively common if it matters to you. All in all we were happy we came.

Great Vacation!

Ocean Blue and Sand is a beautiful resort with beautiful staff. This is our second time visiting this resort. I do have to say that they are under staffed. When we arrived at the resort we were over an hour waiting in the check-in line. Also, they are under staffed in the restaurants. The staff work so hard and are running around to accommodate us but they just do not have enough staff to keep up with the people staying here. The food is absolutely amazing hats off to the chefs. There is a variety for everyone. Mike's cafe is another little treasure that is amazing, you can get a variety of teas, espresso, cappuccinos, lattes, fraps, etc.. The grounds are gorgeous and well groomed, the workers keep everything so nice and beautiful. The pool is awesome and very clean. The beach is also beautiful but they have put these big sand barriers to block the waves as it has eroded some of the beach. You can walk along the beach for hours both ways. The rooms are spacious but just another note to the owners of this hotel, it is time to start to renovate. That being said you spend so little time in your room. We had a great vacation and would return.

Good not great Ocean Blue and Sand

For the most part we had a pleasant week at the Ocean Blue and Sand. I would say its closer to a 3.5* than a 4 * resort - I thought the price was fair for the condition of the resort and the fact it was March break. PROS - very good food; I found the buffet very clean, food well prepared and tasty (breakfast was best, with a fresh juice bar, crepes, made to order omelets etc. We ate dinner at the Mexican and Italian (we preferred the buffet) In speaking with other guests, we heard the steak  [... read more]and Japanese restaurants were very good. - Mike's coffee house was fabulous; great espressos, cappuccino's, baked goods - I would prefer they opened at 6:30 am (vs 7:30 am) as a lot of the excursions leave early and it would be nice to get a coffee beforehand - outside of the resort, pool, gardens were very well maintained - beach was small but nice - staff , entertainment, dining and cleaning staff worked hard and were very nice. Check-in employees were quite rude and not very helpful, the resort definitely needs to address CONS - the rooms we stayed in the 7 block were quite dated and poorly maintained. We could see the bed linens were stained and requested the cleaning staff change. The air conditioning was not working properly and the cupboard doors on the dresser were falling off. Our daughters bathroom kept being flooded by the room above. After asking maintenance staff to fix it (3 days in a row) they finally moved us to block 9 rooms which were much better - Gym was terrible; one treadmill, one elliptical machine, looked very unkempt and not very clean - Towel game is played here - People were getting up at 5:30 - 6:00am to reserve chairs that sat empty for hours - this needs to be addressed by the resort staff - Resort allowed vendors into the main square 2 evenings during our stay to sell their trinkets, souvenirs. I found them quite aggressive and we would literally have to go out of our way to avoid them. - Hear there were issues from other guests on aggressive timeshare salespeople but we never encountered it Overall we had a pleasant stay - not sure I would stay here again as there are several other resorts that looked quite nice that we would like to try. I would recommend to friends and family with the warnings above to manage expectations.

Would DEFINITELY return to this resort!!

We just got back from this resort and have nothing but great things to say! The grounds were beautiful and always clean, friendly helpful staff, never had to wait for ANYTHING, food was awesome, rooms were great and cleaned and stocked everyday. We never had a problem finding a place to lay Oceanside or poolside. The party pool was great for entertainment through the day and the quiet pool was very relaxed. The size of the resort was exactly what my husband and I like, I hate having to trolly ev [... read more]erywhere we go, which you don’t have to do here at all. Everything is walking distance. The night shows were entertaining and got the audience involved whir is always fun. They had a great live classic rock cover band one night and a lobby dance party another night. It was a tonne of fun. I unfortunately had to visit the medic on site who was amazing and helpful and kind. He made sure i got to the local hospital safely and was taken well care of. Overall, I would absolutely return here and recommend anyone to go here as well.
