2nd Time.....No Regrets

This resort is all on its own with 2 huge beaches....you're not tripping over other people walking on the beach. Megano beach is quite something when low tide....A whole other beach appears and has to be walked to appreciate the beauty of it. Lobby entertainment was a bit boring....very little while we were there. The piano was not used once in the lobby bar. We didn't take part in any of the shows in the auditorium. Food was plentiful....we are not fussy eaters.....the Cubans have been [... read more] hit with disasters so they try hard to please spoiled first world people which is not easy! You cannot match the genuine friendliness of the Cuban people to other countries! Rooms are clean and we had very good sleeps. I wouldn't hesitate to book another holiday there.

Wonderful resort!

The grounds are beautifully kept as always. The rooms and common areas are very clean. Services personnel were very pleasant and hard working as usual. The food was tastier then previous years with better selections. The beaches are lovely and the pools are clean and well kept. This was our ninth trip to the Iberostar Ensenachos and we will definitely be back!

Needs improvement

The rooms, the pool areas, the lobby, the beaches, were all beautiful . Except for all the public washrooms which need upgrading and repair. The issues were with not enough staff, not well trained staff, staff that did not focus enough on the client of the hotel. The food needs some improvement, the entertainment in public areas was non-existent. There were Iberostar public relations staff on sight interviewing people and we all completed questionnaires given us by the Pr staff. They w [... read more]ant to improve and were working on have issues resolved. Restaurant staff were great and attentive. Need staff at pool areas to take orders for bar service, need more golf cart shuttles available . Need entertainment or at least music at pool areas. Things were improving as we were ending our stay. Would not recommend currently.

Great resort and beautiful beach

The hotel is nice and it has it's own beach Ensenachos. It is idyllic. I have been to Varadero multiple times, but you really feel like you have to beach to yourself here. The hotel is looking a little tired, but most of your day will likely be on the beach.

Best beaches in Cuba

We love this resort! It was our eighth visit, and sadly, while the rooms have been spruced up and look lovely, the food service has suffered a surprising downturn. There was a lack of selection at the buffet, and the food was not always hot. But there were always fresh fruits and veggies, and the a la carte restaurants were fine. The staff everywhere were friendly and mostly efficient - though they seemed to be spread a bit thinner than in other years. The resort has two wonderful beaches, always room, and some good snorkelling offshore. We were told that the Cayo Santa Maria resorts were having issues with their entertainment agent, with the result that there was no live music in the lobby at night. There was a piano player a couple of nights a week, and there was always a show in the theatre, always very well done. We have no interest in the theatre shows, but had been looking forward to a variety of musicians in the lobby, so this was a major disappointment for us. We won't be back until we hear that the food and entertainment issues have been corrected.

Fourth time at the Ensenachos and every bit as beautiful!

Everything was wonderful. Service, room, food, beach and grounds. Absolutely nothing to complain about. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. Definitely returning to this resort in the future!

Wonderful resort

I like this resort because the beach is quiet, peaceful and beautiful - the perfect place to enjoy a good book, pristine waters, enchanting aqua life and gorgeous sand. It is a gem. At other resorts, the staff constantly demand of you, over loud speakers dragged down to the beach, to "have fun" and "dance". Last year, the Ensenachos beach was quiet - this year, not so much: the Star staff and wait staff constantly interrupted me asking if I wanted to dance or have a drink. If I wanted to danc [... read more]e or do water sports or do yoga have a massage, I WOULD BE DOING THAT instead of enjoying my book. Staff - read the room! And please stop addressing me as "lady". Miss or Madam will do. Re music- nice traditional Cuban music was playing on low at the end of the beach. Note to the guests who brought their own music and forced the rest of us to listen - if I wanted to listen to your crappy music I would go to a cheap bar in Hull instead of paying a few thousand to sit on a gorgeous Cuban beach. Which brings me to etiquette (on the part of guests) and rule enforcement by staff: guests- don't bring weapons to the beach - namely spear guns in the water where people are swimming. Staff - enforce the no weapons rule and post signs to leave the wildlife alone! This was very troubling to witness! I will go to this resort next year.

Beautiful Beaches and Amazing staff

My happy place for the third time but a horrible rude encounter with the female Cuban Manager because I expected late check out privileges as in the past....I will be writing a detailed account to the general manager on a later date.

Great Vacation

This was our first time in Cuba and while I can't say everything was perfect we would certainly not have any reservations about returning to this lovely resort. The beaches were spectacular with fine sand and plenty of room for lounging or walking, whatever you want to do. The food was not always exceptional but it was plentiful and we could always find something to eat. The room was extremely large and the cleaning staff kept everything in top shape. We did not do any of the offered excursions and the fact that the resort is isolated was just perfect for relaxing. All in all an excellent vacation.

Beautiful relaxing resort

This was our third visit to this resort. Nothing bad to report other than the lack of wash clothes, peanut butter and breads. I will certainty go back. The staff is amazing, the grounds are beautiful and the spa/adult section is peaceful

Amazing Resort

The resort was fantastic. We stayed in the Spa Section. The accommodations were first class. The staff were so kind and helpful. Swimming pool was amazing. Beaches great. Absolutely no complaints with the food.

Fantastic Resort!!!!

We stayed in the Grand Village section.It was quiet and relaxing. The beach was stunning: white sand, great for walking-lots of shade provided. The staff were amazing- friendly and helpful. The food was incredibly good from -eggs made to order/smoked salmon/fresh fruit for breakfast to grilled lobster/club sandwiches/hamburgers by the beach for lunch to steak/lobster thermidor for dinner in the gourmet restaurant. A quick ride by golf cart to the main section  [... read more]of the resort for more entertainment and excitement.The mixed drinks there were delicious.The large water park looked like it would have been a lot of fun for kids. Only slight negative was the 90 minute trip from the airport-but even that was not so bad-air conditioned bus- comfortable seats-interesting countryside. Look forward to going back.

The best in Cuba we've seen

Nothing really to complain about. Spacious and clean rooms, good service, nice beaches, cool programs for kids, alright food. A notch above other 4+ (Cuban) star hotels in the area. It's usually pretty pricey, but it's a good value when on sale

Great resort and excellent service from tripcentral.ca

We loved this resort a lot. The room was big enough and comfortable. Cleaned to perfection daily. The food in the buffet is always fresh, large variety of vegies for a nice healthy salad as well as fresh fish, shrimp and variety of meats, hot dogs, hamburgers, turkey, chicken. We really enjoyed the food in the buffet and not so much in the a la carte restaurants. Every day you will find a big water bottle in your mini bar. If it is not enough you can ask for more. Another nice touch is live music in the lobby in the evening. Cannot comment on entertainment as we didn't go to any. There is a tennis ground and a small gym. My suggestion to the management would be to add a couple of billiard and ping pong tables.My husband and I found none.In general I would recommend this resort to people with kids and couples who are not keen about night life and enjoy the beach, the sun and the sea.

Family oriented resort

This is a family oriented resort. Nothing much to offer for adults entertainment and overall animation. Annoying that children have access to the bar lobby and kills the vibe if you want to enjoy a relaxing adult only experience. Rooms are spacious and clean in the Spa section_block 21 is perfect setting. Food is ordinary and we saw some cockroaches at the buffet walking on the counter. Avoid the food at the snack bar near the beach. Do not bother with A la carte restaurants since they serve  [... read more]the same thing at the buffet. Please bring lots of hand sanitizer since this is lacking Pathways to access the beaches in really poor conditions and dangerous. Great tennis courses and coach is amazing. Same for Joby from animation team that offered private boxing training every morning at the Spa section. Great coach and excellent training. Staff are friendly.

Third time's a charm!

Just returned from our third visit to Iberostar Ensenachos. Two week stay from Jan 10 through Jan 24. Had a wonderful time, as always. The resort grounds are beautiful & lush, and have recovered beautifully since hurricane Irma. Food selection was plentiful & varied; as with all buffets, quality could vary, but there was always plenty to choose from & some delicious dishes and desserts were always available. Didn't try any a la cartes this trip, so can't comment on those. Beaches are [... read more] stunning. Service was always impeccable (as usual). Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and already making tentative plans to return later this year!

Won’t be back

Food was repetitive and only a few things were actually appealing. Both of us got food poisoning at this resort. We aren’t sure what particular dish we got it from but it occurred halfway through our trip. We had violent diarrhea and vomiting. There is an invisible stairway in the entry of the resort that numerous people injure themselves on, including myself. Very good vacation

This is our 5ths time at this hotel. We are very happy for our holiday here.thanks all staff,workers.we are going to make a plan for next time.service is good,food is good,room is good,recommend this place to all my friends.

Two weeks in Paradise

This was our 7th visit to Iberostar Ensenachos. Previously wehad brought our family members but this time was just the two of us.Reception upon arrival was quick and easy and even Nestor the assistant manager helped us with our luggage. Nestor coud be seen every day watching over the staff and resort. We stayed in the Spa section, room 2910, which had been recently renovated. We had excellent accomodations with a new mattress and linen since our last visit in 2017. House keeping do a good job,  [... read more]there was plenty of hot water and the air conditioning unit was quiet, the bar fridge was restocked as necessary. The main lobby looks very regal with tall ceilings and marble floors. Fresh flower arraingments were all over.. Mixture of live entertainment nightly including children activities. The beach is well known as one of the best in Cuba. Sailboat rides were available on most days. You just walk down to the beach and request the ride. Simple and free (but a tip now and then shows your appreciation) . The beach bar restaraunt staff were attentive under the supervision of "Jeidi" and her staff. In the main buffet, Yuri and his wide Daily were attentive to our every needs as were Yerandy and Lainny. Food was varied each day with plenty of sea food and lobster two days in a row. The Seafood restaraunt has been renovated since the huricane and looks great. Swimming pools were all cleaned daily, gardeners will chop down coconuts for your pleasure if you ask them too. There was never a shortage of lounge chairs or towels at the pools and the life guards on the beach were willing to find us lounges under the palapas. Transportation to this resort was by Sunwing and this time went off without a single problem. Our travel arrangements were made through TripCentral.ca. and we have been using them for years. .
